by Jim O’Toole in Cairns for the election
Political chicanery and deception by the Liberal National Party handed the nation’s most colourful politician an 11 per cent surge in popularity at Saturday’s poll.
Bob Katter romped it in leaving young Liberal opponent Johnathon Pavetto choking in his dust with 62 per cent of the two party preferred vote against Pavetto’s 38 per cent, representing an 11.4 per cent swing.
A concerted campaign by the Liberals erecting signage at most Atherton Tableland booths claiming a ‘vote for Katter is a vote for Labor and Greens’ spectacularly backfired.
According to LNP sources, two of the Liberals responsible for the false signs, former Eacham Shire Mayor Ray Byrnes and Atherton LJ Hooker franchisee Kevin ‘Rambo’ Ramke will endure a “reaming out” by Johnathan Pavetto and his team members for the failed campaign.
Katter’s booth workers reported hostile comments from voters after viewing the discredited signs then checking the order of preferences on KAP how-to-vote cards.
Heading off the unlawful Liberal signage were advertisements in local newspapers the preceding week featuring the KAP card that clearly showed the party had preferenced the ALP and Greens second last and last.
The thought bubble originating this misleading message began at the 2013 federal election, when the LNP placed large roadside signs in the Atherton district. It nearly cost Katter his seat. This time shrewd voters no longer believed the LNP.
Proforma letters-to-the-editor writers such as Ray Byrnes, Helen Kanak(Dickinson) of Mareeba and Beverly Prescott of Atherton made fools of themselves with their hateful spiel demonising Bob Katter.
Not to be outdone the narrowly re-elected Member for Leichardt, Warren Entsch lambasted Bob Katter on ABC Radio Monday morning for not bringing home the bacon to the Kennedy electorate.
It seems Mr Entsch, like Mr Katter, does not read newspapers. Two page advertisements placed in regional newspapers by KAP detailed the vast amount of funds for infrastructure and roads that have poured into Kennedy over the past two terms of Parliament, a direct result of Mr Katter’s administration.
For incredulous Leichardt voters, Mr Entsch’s attempt at the pot calling the kettle black must be a slap in their face.
The only significant infrastructure building in Mr Entsch’s electorate over his past two terms has been a $220 million road construction project on Cape York Peninsula.
Mr Entsch omits to mention this funding was put in place by the previous Labor Government Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Anthony Albanese.
Election results in the north
Political party pundits and smart university commentators are at a loss to understand the re-election of Katter and the huge resurgence of Pauline Hanson and One Nation in the senate.
Posturing all sorts of theories on radio and television the commentators jump from one lame excuse to another, because these people, just like party pollies, News Ltd and Fairfax reporters, are far removed from reality.
Letters to the editor and comments received by Cairns News and most other notable independent news services for the past several years describe readers’ anguish at being left out of the policy loop, where the embedded bureaucracy make the decisions that the parties simply endorse thus denying any say to electors.
One example is the sovereignty-destroying Trans Pacific Partnership treaty agreed to by the Liberal Government, others are the China free trade agreement, foreign ownership and unbridled immigration.
Islam, publicly embraced by Malcolm Turnbull and his wife Lucy, gave Pauline Hanson a tremendous platform prior to the election. While Islam dominates 15 per cent of the vote in Turnbull’s electorate and 14 others across NSW and Victoria, Turnbull was unapologetic to the nation for kowtowing to Islam, Sharia law and halal.
For Hanson it was manna from heaven.
The two Liberal held seats of Capricornia and Herbert look like going to Labor, but in this case the reasons seem obscure, although both cities of Rockhampton and Townsville have high levels of unemployment thanks to the party duopoly’s destruction of manufacturing and primary industries.
Mr Katter says he has been humbled by the result.
“I thank the hundreds of great Australians who stood outside in the wind, hot sun and in some places cold handing out our How to Vote Cards passionately for Kennedy and the future of their country; and everyone who voted. And I thank my brilliant strategy team who got our key messages out there,” Mr Katter said.
“But upon this base, if the Australian people have delivered a small modicum of power, that power will be used to create a happy and a prosperous North Qld.
“The financial oppression of the elderly, the struggling abandoned young families will be addressed
“It looks like we’ll be in a very powerful position.
“We will be saying our prayers to the good Lord and we hope we can get enlightenment through to the people who have to date exercised power in Canberra.”

THE Greens yesterday surpassed even their lofty benchmark for blatantly nutty policies, declaring in just one day they want to hire snipers to shoot pet dogs, double the number of firefighters to combat global warming and destroy our retirement by slugging us with massive superannuation tax increases.
And the madness doesn’t stop there. The Greens also want to give prisoners the vote — which would give mass murderers such as Ivan Milat and Martin Bryant the right to cast a vote at the ballot box at the next federal election.
Although Labor leader Bill Shorten signed a solemn pledge — drawn up by The Daily Telegraph — promising he will never do a deal with the Greens to form a government, the leader of the loony left rabble, Richard Di Natale, believes Labor will end up doing precisely that if it means the difference between government and opposition..
In a sign of the policies the Greens would seek to implement if it was ever given the balance of power again, Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young yesterday threw out the spectre of medium- to high-income earners having to pay up to 47 per cent tax on their super contributions.
She was forced to recant from a trainwreck of an interview in which she said: “Look, we’re saying in order to make it fair you should be paying the same tax rate on income as you do for what you’re earning on your super.”
Later in the interview, she attempted to clarify her position, saying: “I’ve had a text from my chief of staff sitting outside, sending me the table.
“It’s basically as I was saying. A progressive tax rate.”
The Greens then released the policy, which showed that it did indeed want the progressive income tax scale applied to super — but with a top tax band of 32 per cent on those earning more than $150,000.
Potential Greens voters were then given an even bigger shock when Tasmanian Greens senator Peter Whish-Wilson called for snipers to shoot dogs that get too close to penguin colonies.
And controversial Greens candidate for the Sydney seat of Grayndler Jim Casey then suggested Australia could help combat climate change by doubling the number of firefighters.
Mr Casey, who is himself a firefighter, announced the Greens would spend $120 million over four years to double the number of fireys because, he said, global warming will cause “more frequent, catastrophic bushfires”.
“Global warming is already driving devastating and sometimes fatal bushfires across Australia. We must act now to save lives from increasing bushfires in a warming world,” Mr Casey said.
He appeared to claim bushfires were a result of global warming rather than arsonists and lightning strikes.
“Bushfires (are) intensifying dramatically due to global warming. We must boost numbers of paid firefighters to share the workload,” he said.

Cairns News Editorial:
Party faithful Green lemmings will continue following their leaders over the cliff into oblivion with best wishes from all logical voters.
A tidal wave of voter awareness will swamp the polls on July 2 in spite of LNP and ALP spin doctors demonising Jackie Lambie, Bob Katter, Andrew Wilkie and Nick Xenophon, who actually represent their constituents contrary to government and opposition politicians.
Social media is swimming with discontent ranging from the invasion of our cities by Islam to free trade agreements signing away our sovereignty.
With this election presenting an unprecedented challenge to the establishment elite, we will assist you to remove the LNP, ALP, Greens, power base by publishing a “how to vote card” over the next few days.
Exclusive from Robert J Lee in Canberra
The Coalition Government, with the aid of Greens and Labor secretly passed the Emissions Trading Scheme legislation in the senate on December 3, the last day of sitting in 2015.
This was the day before the Paris Climate Conference , called COP 21, got underway at which an agreement to keep the global temperature increase to 2 degrees was signed by 189 countries, including Australia.
The ETS, in effect the ALP’s Carbon Tax comes into effect on July 1, the day before the Federal election.
One hundred and fifty companies representing half of Australia’s total carbon dioxide emissions will be capped by legislation at their highest level of emissions between 2009-10 and 2013-14.
The caps specifically include the electricity sector and the Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU’s) which were created by Julia Gillard in 2011.
If these companies emit more than their caps they have to buy ACCU’s which no doubt will affect the bottom line of the companies, thus the cost will be passed onto consumers.
The caps imposed on 150 companies are described by the government as a “safeguard mechanism” to support the Emissions Reduction fund that the centrepiece of the Direct Action Plan in which companies bid at auction for the right to be paid to reduce their emissions.
These auctions have so far resulted in 143 million tonnes of abatement at an average price of $12.10 per tonne, which is much lower than has been forecast by the scheme’s opponents.
The interesting question is why no one is talking about this discredited scheme.
Obviously the 150 companies involved know about it, and it’s all described on the government website, but the fact that Australia has legislated an emissions trading scheme is virtually a secret.
It is no secret however that Malcolm Turnbull for years, has been waiting anxiously for the scheme to become law so his private emissions trading company with offices in Sydney can grab a part of the action.

Bob Katter describes the folly of the TPP and the cost to Australian business and local government
Budget allocation for Federal Court to fight challenges to TPP
Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) Implementation
· Costing $15.6million over four years to implement reform to government procurement which are included in the TPP
· $12.4m for IT systems to support transparency in procurements conducted by limited tendering
· $2.9m proactively being given to the Federal Court of Australia to deal with the disputes caused by the changes.
“The TPP takes away the rights of government to protect their people. For example industrial practice that endangers Australian health and lives, for example their right to a decent wage and income,” Mr Katter lamented.
“This money is for enforcement, so if a Local Government Council wants to use local contractors, instead of a big foreign corporation the foreign corporation can come at them. The TPP gives foreign corporations tendering rights that can be enforced. Pretty sad stuff.”
A university in the United States has found that the much-heralded Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal will cost the American economy 448,000 jobs and significantly decrease their Gross Domestic Product.
One of 12 nations in the deal, Australia signed the agreement in New Zealand last week.
The Global Development and Environment Institute at Tufts University near Boston said President Obama’s promises of sweeping economic benefits are wrong and the treaty would actually harm America.
The analysis said U.S. jobs would be “hardest hit” of all the nations in the agreement.
Meanwhile the TPP along with the National Interest Analysis was tabled in the Australian House of Representatives today prompting the Member for Kennedy and leader of Katters Australian Party, Bob Katter to form a cross bench alliance, citing the TPP as the “greatest threat to Australia’s sovereignty in decades.”
Mr Katter, Senator Glenn Lazarus and Greens’ Trade Spokesman Senator Peter Whish-Wilson fronted a joint press conference at Parliament House to oppose the ratification of the TPP, which is expected within weeks.
Whilst full details of the TPP Agreement were laid before Parliament, all three attacked the Government’s own analysis of the Agreement – an analysis which is unlikely to highlight the real losses to Australian manufacturers and producers.
“There has been a hole a mile wide torn in the sovereignty of Australia,” Mr Katter said.
“If there is a product which some foreign corporation is producing or distributing in Australia and they have invested money, then we can’t stop that product from coming in – so what is left of our sovereignty is now vanishing away.
“Andrew Robb, one of the most appropriately named Ministers that I have encountered in my time in Parliament, has greatly erred here, so maybe we should call him Rob-err.
“He has an extraordinary eagerness to please foreign corporations and to get foreign investment – but what he calls foreign investment I call the stealing of our country!
“I defy him in the last 10 years to tell me where any significant jobs have been created by foreign investment, that hadn’t already started 15-20 years ago.
“And in the last 10 years, since this fanatical free trade business has been going on, I defy them to point out to me where there has been one benefit for the Australian economy.”
Mr Katter pointed to the absurdity in the Government’s own figures published today – which cited $109 billion in sales to TPP countries, versus $1,109 of investment in Australia by TPP countries – meaning a staggering ten times more imports than exports, all of which compete with if not eradicate Australian producers and manufacturers.
“Mr Robb says that this agreement will open up avenues for Australian manufactured goods – for iron and steel, ships and auto parts to name a few.
“But manufacturing – it’s already all gone. There is no capital investment by Government, no motor vehicles produced, no white goods produced – no manufacturing left in the country.
“We allow slave labour produced goods into the country without any tariffs or restrictions on them whatsoever.
“Instead of trading aggressively and collectively, we have the weakest trading position of any country on earth.
“TheGovernment keeps pressing ahead talking about foreign investment as if it’s a good thing – when we all know it’s just selling your country off because your country’s broke, the Government’s broke, and the only way to get out of trouble is to sell off the assets,” Mr Katter said.
REALITY CHECK NEEDED BY CLIMATE DISCIPLES
Cosmic Cycles Control Climate
by Viv Forbes, Science writer
Those who think a war on carbon energy will lower Earth’s temperature need to study climate history.
Temperatures on Earth dance to a cyclical rhythm every hour, every day, every month, every season, every year, and to every beat of the sun-spot and glacial cycles.
These cycles interact to produce a wide range of ever-changing temperatures. Even at the same moment, temperatures vary dramatically from the equator to the poles and from the surface to the stratosphere. For would-be climate “managers” to claim they can calculate a mythical “global temperature” with precision greater than thermometers can measure is statistical nonsense.
It is even sillier for people who cannot accurately forecast next weekend’s weather to claim they can regulate the temperature of the globe by bashing industry and taxing carbon.
What is the role of carbon dioxide in climate? Al Gore did a great job to dramatise the recurring glacial cycles revealed by ice cores in his widely acclaimed work of science fiction. But he missed two inconvenient truths.
First, ice cores show that in the glacial spring-time the temperature rose BEFORE the CO2 levels rose. Therefore the rising CO2 cannot be a CAUSE of the warming – it is a RESULT of CO2 being expelled from the warming oceans.
Second, at the top of every warm cycle, high levels of CO2 in the atmosphere were unable to prevent Earth from cooling into the next cycle of ice.
We are fortunate to live in the Holocene Epoch, the latest warm phase of the Pleistocene Ice Age. The climate history of the Holocene, and its predecessor the Eemian, are well documented in ice core logs. These show that today’s warm Greenhouse Earth is probably nearing its end. It will be followed by Icehouse Earth.
There is no evidence in the climate records that carbon dioxide has a detectable effect on global temperatures. However if our continued use of cheap reliable hydro-carbon energy does slightly delay the onset of the next glacial winter, we and all life on Earth should count ourselves lucky.
Viv Forbes is a qualified geologist who has spent much of his life studying geological and climate history as written in the rocks. He has also spent several years in formal and private study of climatology and meteorology. He is the Founder of the Carbon Sense Coalition and a non-executive director of a small Australian company developing a coking coal mine.
By far the best reference book I have read on the above subjects is:
“The Inconvenient Skeptic” by John Kehr. This book is written in plain language, but full of sound science, well researched and referenced. I highly recommend it for those wishing to understand what drives our climate. (Hint: It is NOT carbon Dioxide.)

Paris Climate Party agrees . . . to have another Party
By Viv Forbes, Science Writer
Premature Celebrations by Sceptics
Many climate sceptics are celebrating that “nothing in the Paris deal is legally binding”. They should look deeper. They have suffered a huge political defeat.
Skeptics are winning the climate science debate, but the main battle is no longer about facts and science – it is about propaganda and politics. There were few scientists at COP21 talking about atmospheric physics – just politicians, bureaucrats and green activists discussing emission targets, carbon taxes, climate reparations and who will pay.
The Paris party organisers managed to assemble representatives of 196 nations with the aim of getting 100% agreement on something/anything that would assist their clandestine campaign for world government and world taxes. This process will cripple the industrial power and political freedom of the Western democracies. They achieved agreement because of leadership by UN loving Western centralists like Obama, Merkel, Cameron, Hollande, Trudeau and Turnbull, helped by misguided theologians, and supported by vested interests in mendicant nations and some powerful competitors of the West. They spent two weeks reworking the draft document until there was nothing in it that offended any nation. Most of them wanted their benefits clauses made compulsory, but the would-be-providers of such largesse dared not sign obviously binding liabilities because the media and their home electorates were watching.
The UN game plan is for this massive global climate circus to meet regularly in pleasant locations, setting illusory targets, generating publicity and seeking even more green levers to pull. So there is only one legally binding clause – an agreement to table targets, and to meet again.
The cashless society is coming hard and fast. Even the US is preparing to remove cash transactions. The One World economy mentioned on ABC radio today is on track and you can bet the Goldman Sachs Merchant Bank-driven Malcolm Turnbull will be on board. By then it will be too late to stop the One World Government. Do you want this in Australia?
Did you know that 95 percent of all retail sales in Sweden are cashless? And did you know that the government of Denmark has a stated goal of “eradicating cash” by the year 2030? All over the world, we are seeing a relentless march toward a cashless society, and nowhere is this more true than in northern Europe. In Sweden, hundreds of bank branches no longer accept or dispense cash, and thousands of ATM machines have been permanently removed.
At this point, bills and coins only account for just 2 percent of the Swedish economy, and many stores no longer take cash at all. The notion of a truly “cashless society” was once considered to be science fiction, but now we are being told that it is “inevitable”, and authorities insist that it will enable them to thwart criminals, terrorists, drug runners, money launderers and tax evaders. But what will we give up in the process?
Parishioners text tithes to their churches. Homeless street vendors carry mobile credit-card readers. Even the Abba Museum, despite being a shrine to the 1970s pop group that wrote “Money, Money, Money,” considers cash so last-century that it does not accept bills and coins.
Few places are tilting toward a cashless future as quickly as Sweden, which has become hooked on the convenience of paying by app and plastic.
To me, giving money in church electronically seems so bizarre. But it is starting to happen here in the United States, and in Sweden some churches collect most of their tithes and offerings this way…
During a recent Sunday service, the church’s bank account number was projected onto a large screen. Worshipers pulled out cellphones and tithed through an app called Swish, a payment system set up by Sweden’s biggest banks that is fast becoming a rival to cards.
Other congregants lined up at a special “Kollektomat” card machine, where they could transfer funds to various church operations. Last year, out of 20 million kronor in tithes collected, more than 85 percent came in by card or digital payment.
And of course it isn’t just Sweden that is rapidly transitioning to a cashless society. Over in Denmark, government officials have a goal “to completely do away with paper money” by the year 2030…
Sweden is not the only country interested in eradicating cash. Its neighbor, Denmark, is also making great strides to lessen the circulation of banknotes in the country.
Two decades ago, roughly 80 percent of Danish citizens relied on hard cash while shopping. Fast forward to today, that figure has dropped dramatically to 25 percent.
“We’re interested in getting rid of cash,” said Matas IT Director Thomas Grane. “The handling, security and everything else is expensive; so, definitely we want to push digital payments, and that’s of course why we introduced mobile payments to help this process.”
Eventually, establishments may soon have the right to reject cash- a practice that is common in Sweden. Government officials have set a 2030 deadline to completely do away with paper money.
This is the direction things are going – especially in Europe.
As I have written about previously, cash transactions of more than 2,500 euros have already been banned in Spain, and France and Italy have both banned all cash transactions of more than 1,000 euros.
Little by little, cash is being eradicated, and what we have seen so far is just the beginning. 417 billion cashless transactions were conducted in 2014, and the final number for 2015 is projected to be much higher.
Banks like this change, because it enables them to make more money due to the fees that they collect from credit cards and debit cards. And governments like this change because electronic payments enable them to watch, track and monitor what we are all doing much more easily.
These days, very rarely does anyone object to what is happening. Instead, most of us just seem to accept that this change is “inevitable”, and we are being assured that it will be for the better. And no matter where in the world you go, the propaganda seems to be the same. For example, the following comes from an Australian news source…
AND so we prepare to turn the page to fresh year — 2016, a watershed year in which Australia will accelerate towards becoming a genuine cashless society.
The cashless society will be a new world free of $1 and $2 coins, or $5 or $10 bank notes. A new world in which all commercial transactions, from buying an i-pad or a hamburger to playing the poker machines, purchasing a newspaper, paying household bills or picking up the dry-cleaning, will be paid for electronically.
And in that same article the readers are told that Australia will likely be “a fully cashless society” by 2022…
Research by Westpac Bank predicts Australia will be a fully cashless society by 2022 — just six years away. Already half of all commercial payments are now made electronically.
Even in some of the poorest areas on the entire globe we are seeing a move toward a cashless society. In 2015, banks in India made major progress on this front, and income tax rebates are being considered by the government as an incentive “to encourage people to move away from cash transactions”.
Would a truly cashless society reduce crime and make all of our lives much more efficient?
But what would we have to give up?
To me, America is supposed to be a place where we can go where we want and do what we want without the government constantly monitoring us. If people choose to use cashless forms of payment that is one thing, but if we are all required to go to such a system I fear that it could result in the loss of tremendous amounts of freedom and liberty.
And it is all too easy to imagine a world where a government-sponsored form of “identification” would be required to use any form of electronic payment. This would give the government complete control over who could use “the system” and who could not. The potential for various forms of coercion and tyranny in such a scenario is obvious.
What would you do if you could not buy, sell, get a job or open a bank account without proper “identification” someday? What you simply give in to whatever the government was demanding of you at the time even if it went against your fundamental beliefs?
That is certainly something to think about.
Many will cheer as the world makes a rapid transition to a cashless society, but I will not. I believe that a truly cashless system would open the door for great evil, and I don’t want any part of it.
What about you?
Would you welcome a cashless society?
Landbridge Group has formally established armed forces
The USA is stunned that the control of Port Darwin, a major link in their security of northern Australia that has been in place for decades, being ‘leased’ to China by the Northern Territory government for 99 years. This allows a Chinese private company LandBridge, with ties to their government and military, complete with a fully trained private armed militia to protect that port. There was no consultation with the US government.
Malcolm Turnbull just shrugged off a “please explain” from President Barack Obama at their official meeting during the Apec summit in Manila.
Australia’s latest Prime Minister fresh off the PM conveyor belt has snubbed his nose at our major ally concerning the military assets the USA has deployed as part of the Obama foreign policy “pivot” to the Asia-Pacific region, which is a strategic posture concerned with countering China’s growing power in the region. This is of major concern for all Australians who should be very worried .
The USA armed forces might is sourced from some 320 million people hosting 120 million military ready personnel. Australia with 23 million people hosting just 56,000 military ready personnel. There are more cab drivers in Australia than soldiers.

Napoleon once said: “Only a foolish horse fights with his nose bag”
by Viv Forbes, Science Writer
But today we have many foolish people fighting their nose bag. They are weakening Earth’s food chain with a war on carbon.
Carbon is the building block of life. “Organic” means “containing carbon” and every bit of plant and animal life is built around the carbon atom.
Carbon enters Earth’s cycle of life via plants, which extract it from the rare and precious carbon dioxide plant-food in the atmosphere. Living things use
this carbon, plus water, oxygen and minerals, to create the proteins, fats, carbohydrates and skeletons they need.
Plant growth responds quickly to the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
See: CSIRO: Rising Carbon Dioxide causes greening of the deserts:
The Biosphere is booming: CO2 is the Cause:
However, today’s levels are far below those that sustained the abundant forests, grasslands, wetlands, herbivores and carnivores of past eras.
The biggest long term threat to abundant life on Earth is natural carbon sequestration, especially during the recurring cold dry eras when cooling oceans absorb huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and growing ice sheets capture most of its water.
Nature is very efficient at carbon capture and burial. Enormous quantities of carbon and hydrogen have been removed from past atmospheres and buried under ancient sediments in extensive beds of coal, oil shale, limestone, marble, dolomite and magnesite, and in diffuse deposits of hydrocarbon liquids and gases.
The result is that the carbon dioxide level in today’s atmosphere is not far above the minimum needed to sustain plant life (which is why nurserymen pump more carbon dioxide into their green-houses).
However, in a rare piece of environmental serendipity, man’s extraction and use of coal, oil, gas, limestone and dolomite for power generation, transport, aviation, steel, cement and fertilisers is recycling a tiny part of this storehouse of buried carbon. For example, for every tonne of coal burned, 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide plant food plus one tonne of fresh water is added to the atmosphere; and producing one tonne of cement releases about one tonne of carbon dioxide.
See: The ins and outs of coal combustion:
Every tonne of wheat grown needs a tonne of carbon dioxide to get its carbon, and other foods have similar needs. Carbon industries thus help to feed all of Earth’s plants and animals.
See: Should we celebrate CO2: http://www.thegwpf.com/28155/
Industrial use of carbon-bearing mineral resources also recycles valuable trace elements like nitrogen, sulphur and phosphorus which are present in variable amounts in coal, oil and carbonates. Any of these by-product gases can be toxic if concentrated in confined spaces, and all of man’s activities can pollute crowded cities, but in the open atmosphere, plant life often suffers because of a deficiency of these key nutrients.
Those waging a war on hydro-carbons and carbon dioxide are enemies of the biosphere. Their foolish policies like carbon taxes, emissions trading and “Carbon Capture and Burial” are denying essential nutrients to the food chain. The failed global warming forecasts show that these policies will have no effect on climate, but will reduce the atmospheric supply of food nutrients and fresh water for all life on Earth.
Life is a carbon cycle – don’t break the food chain.
