In today’s crazy world, western politicians are wasting billions of tax-payer dollars force-feeding costly unreliable green energy in the bizarre belief that this will somehow change Earth’s climate.
Even more incredible, they fear global warmth and seem hell-bent on creating global cooling. They should study climate history. It is snow and ice, cold dry air and carbon dioxide starvation we need to fear, not a warm, moist, fertile, bountiful atmosphere.
Climate change is natural and unstoppable.
Just 20,000 years ago, Earth was in one of its recurring glacial phases. A thick massive ice sheet smothered Canada, Alaska, Iceland, Gr
eenland, North Asia and Europe as far south as London. Much of the animal and plant life of the previous warm era was extinguished. Even in warmer lands not covered by the ice sheet, plants suffered as the cold oceans removed moisture and carbon dioxide plant food from the atmosphere.
Then, because of changing cycles in Earth’s orbit and tilt, reinforced by changing solar cycles, the sun warmed the frozen lands. The great ice sheets melted, sea levels rose and the warming oceans expelled moisture and CO2 plant food into the atmosphere. Plant life recovered. Tundra, forests, grasslands and herbivores advanced towards the pole and fish became abundant in the shallow seas that flooded coastal plains. Hunters, herders, farmers and fishermen followed the food.
Human population increased greatly. They gave thanks for the warmth, and worshipped the sun.
But the peak of the modern warm era is past, and the natural cycles controlling global temperatures are pointing downwards.
Only an idiot with a death wish for life on Earth would attempt to accelerate our inevitable descent into the next ice age.
Luckily, their costly war on warmth is totally futile, but their war on carbon energy will prove tragically misguided in the cold times ahead.

What a massive load of baloney! At the rate we are trashing this planet, it will soon look more like something out of a deep frier than the lush green pastures this insanely inaccurate article seems to portray.
Your farcical article was further crappified by the editors addition of absurd greenie memes. Clearly the only place this level of inaccuracey can be published is on pages run by oblivious twits with so little intelligence, they have to lower the tone with nonsensical juvenile fibger-pointing memes. I can picture all the “clever” editors of this awful page giggling behind their hands, thinking how clever they are to use those memes. Oh, and Judith Gange….mother earth can’t work herself put because we are deforesting, polluting, paving, and generally destroying her faster than she can recover. And the stupidity of it all, we will eventually take ourselves down with the rest of the planet, unless we can escape the mess we are making by heading off to a new planet. Ps. Folks, a small fact I need to share with you….global warming causes massive disruptions in the long-term weather patterns (eg. We should be heading towards an ice age, not a melt down!) AND short term patterns (ie. The unnatural freeze in some countries, the massive torrential downpours and flooding in others, the unprecedented high temperatures in others…do your homework, don’t just form opinions based on newspaper articles that are rarely based on facts)

Ahh! It would seem you people are the only ones who have an opinion that matters, you jumped right onto the personal attacks wagon with firstly telling me that I am totally wrong in my belief that clean coal is an oxymoron then using those words to belittle me. Like I said, I am neither a believer or denier in CC, my opinion is there are far more dangerous things in our atmosphere than CO2 at the moment that need to be considered. If you took offence at the well-worn, age-old idiom of “put that in your pipe and smoke it” then you are not familiar with its meaning. All it basically means is “I don’t totally agree with you, take a step back and consider some of the points I have made”, as in sit down, take it easy, smoke your pipe and ponder the points made. In no way is it a personal put down nor was it intended to be. I feel sorry for you, and people like you who feel they must resort to character assassinations of people who don’t totally agree with them. I would have thought someone in your position would be a little more educated and therefore, circumspect. Perhaps that is asking a little too much these days, then again you may be educated but in a very narrow field, and belong to the group known as educated idiots. You are also obviously quite thin-skinned. If I have used words outside your vocabulary there are plenty of online dictionaries you can access.

I really don’t know or care if the earth is cooling or warming. What I do care about is a CLEAN atmosphere for everyone to breathe. Currently, as it stands, the atmosphere is full of dangerous pollutants and particulates, that needs to change. As I see it, change will not happen without a new fuel source not involving the burning of fossil fuels, so it looks like green, renewable energy is the way to go and BUGGER the expense. Clean coal is an oxymoron! Now put that in your pipe and smoke it Mr/ Mrs Cairnsnews.
