As much as this publication hates to point out the obvious, Ashby and Hanson can only be described as disingenuous and having little regard for the 1.5 million or more disenfranchised voters outside of the South East Queensland corner. To further disregard independent voters PHON has nominated candidates to run in three state electorates held by sitting, star-performing Katters Australian Party members.
One Nation has a snowflake’s chance in Hell of shifting any of the three KAP members whose personal stamp on their electorates is unique in the state’s political sphere and none need preferences from any other candidates at elections.
One Nation has no ability to win enough seats to form a government managed by Pauline Hanson. One Nation runs a risk of alienating independent media at election time. Judging by their performance at previous elections MSM will either ridicule candidates or take the easier path and ignore them altogether.
By their selfish actions Ashby and Hanson have left the dynamic and effective One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts out in the cold by enacting identity, political theatre which could potentially backfire at the October 31 state election.

To keep his monumental support going, Roberts’ best move federally would be to align with the potent Liberal Senator Gerard Rennick who has effectively been dis-endorsed by the Liberal Party placing him in an unwinnable position on their ticket. He could also draw sensible and tenacious Victorian UAP Senator Ralph Babet into the fold paving the way for a new independent federal entity.

New polling released Friday reveals Albanese and federal Labor in Queensland and likely the nation, would be wiped out if a federal election were to be held now.
Polling released earlier last week suggests Queensland Labor would be reduced to a cricket team, a proposition Cairns News has been putting forward for 18 months.

The other part of that story is that a testimony (legal?) came out from a young girl (now an adult) who was there when the Senator was brought into the room, told to rape the boy who was bending over, or they would kill his family. Cameras were rolling ready she said. The witness also said that she had never seen a man weep like that before.

As a member of ON in the early days, and observing the Caloundra Conference, I identified some good people, an overwhelming membership made up of near-demented age pensioners who still thought it was 1958, led by a megalomaniac ignoramous, and supported by various junior and embryonic megalomaniacs and a sprinkling of quite shocking racists.
I held long conversations with the expelled WA One Nation party leader, who was actually very well-informed and pro-democracy. NT of course, had been excluded from Australia.
The 2000s was marked by in-fighting as Pauline crushed any threat to her party dictatorship. But things apparently settled down and so, with nothing else on the horizon, I gave them another try. I wrote, pointing out some serious errors in policy documents and was ignored. I resigned, an action that was also ignored as I was still retained as a member. Today, ON is a smoother operator doing considerable damage to the ALP but is still blatantly anti-democratic.
Having read today’s article and comments, my very non-expert opinion is that Cairns News reads the situation realistically. Australia’s future rests with giant egos that are valued ahead of the nation.
I am wondering when people will wake up and realise that leaders, representatives, and parties, will always betray us. Lord Acton, Thomas Paine, and Abraham Lincoln nailed this cold reality and still we do not listen.
Having said that, I also acknowledge that, because of a combination of factors: blackmail, corruption, bribery, and megalomania; there is now no way to get us out of the shit through voting. This leaves us with a single hope: that a dictator will emerge who ruthlessly cuts out the corruption, reinstalls a protected national industrial economy; and then turns the nation over to the people to formulate all future policy.
As far as I am aware, in human history, this has never happend before. The future looks grim.

I agree in general terms the system needs fixing, one clear problem is the electorate system doesn’t represent the electorate, especially in the case of the ALP where members are required to vote along party lines, in that case how could a member represent an electorate, they are clearly unrepresentative swill.
On the other hand the senators only purport to represent the state they’re from, so that’s a better system, however still undermined by the ALP party rules of “unrepresentative swill” that they adhere to. The first thing that needs to change is that a party cannot dictate to a member how they vote.
Given that the economies of a state revolve mostly around the major city, the entire thing is interdependent on its parts, there’s no need to break it up into electorates, this produces the unrepresentative swill effect, I would say use the senate system of state by state voting and reduce the total number of lower house politicians, too many of them are faceless unrepresentative swill.
Nobody is across all the detail so small electorates won’t work these days, BigMedia controls everything, that’s the scale we operate on nowadays.
If a regional centre got too big it should form a breakaway city state, Townsville is a perfect example, FNQ would run much better if it seceded from Queensland, the reason is the economy is so remote from the SEQ economy, but also because SEQ has been run so disastrously in recent times and in old times the ALP got rid of the senate, leaving only the unrepresentative swill of the lower house.
Because of its voting rules the ALP should be banned, it’s undemocratic, it should not be allowed to exist.
Having been a One Nation candidate I observed Pauline up close, and I was not impressed. She has a massive ego, a bad temper, and very poor analytical, cognitive and speaking skills. She would be a worse PM than Elbow, and that’s saying something.
We don’t need or want political parties anymore. We need to amend the electoral laws to reduce the size of electorates to no more than 5,000 voters, and then combine 50 electorates to create a Regional government. We would elect representatives to this Regional government. They would be directly accountable to the people who voted for them, and they could be recalled and replaced if they do not perform according to the wishes of the voters. At the same time, we could elect one person from the Region to represent voters in Federal Parliament.
This would reduce the size of government, ensure all representatives are serving the people, and corruption would be quickly spotted and eliminated.

Ashby sounds like a dead loss. You could not expect Hanson to “Man up”. She is very liberal on some matters, especially long arms, gays and Islam.
