Ararat Rural City Council has agreed to help fund a local feature film production which will focus on the lives of farmers in rural and regional Australia.

“Just A Farmer”, due in cinemas in Ballarat on 21/03/2024, is a compelling drama produced in the Western District of Victoria that authentically portrays the impact of suicide on a rural Australian family, shedding light on critical mental health issues in farming communities.

Writer, producer and actress Leila McDougall hopes that the film will highlight the issue of mental health in rural Australia and encourage people to seek help. Leila explained that she felt compelled to tell the story after watching suicide rates in rural communities grow.

“A farmer dies by suicide every 10 days, and people in rural populations are twice as likely to die by suicide,” she said.

The film is more than a narrative; it’s a testament to the resilience of farming families. It addresses mental health, generational trauma, and the struggles of rural life with warmth and heart—a universal story with a powerful emotional connection. The film’s purpose is to be a catalyst for conversation and change.

Back in the 1960’s the forecasted threat was that the world would soon run out of food needed to feed the increased population. Today the threat is that farmers are producing too much food. Who writes this stuff?

The agenda is to regulate the amount of food and give the governments power over its distribution. That way they can deny dissidents a license to buy food or to deny them a ration card. It is a power play by the Babylonian rulers of the old world order that is now passing away.

A national survey conducted the day after Hanson’s parliamentary maiden speech showed that 94% of Australians supported her views. Obviously, this included Aborigines and immigrants. I worked with both at the time and also supported her call.

When the ALP and LNP saw the survey results they called a joint meeting. The threat of democracy hung over their heads. Both the ALP and LNP agreed that Tony Abbott should lead an attack group to destroy her. Reportedly, Lachlan Murdoch said “Kill the bitch”.
