Dandy said – “… but it’s still the same issue… The idea of large scale mono farming at the behest of controlling Companies…”
Now you’re playing with STRAWMEN that have little if anything to do with the headline article.
Large scale mono farming IS NOT the subject of the article, robotic innovation to displace pharmaceutical POISONS is the item presented.
Said robotic contraptions ARE NOT the exclusive playthings of mega-farming corporations, any more than laser printers are limited to Fortune 500 companies.
In any case, whether crops are delivered by planet-raping factory farms or from the local market garden, far better for any consumer to have that food produced WITHOUT contamination by all manner of synthetic bioweaponry.
Which just happens to be the POINT of the article.
To zap pest insect, Set selection to ‘Insect’
To zap pest mammal, Set selection to ‘Mammal’
Note, Human mammal avoidance system is currently not available. Caution spraying near built-up areas unless you’re a transhumanist psycho.
If human mammal targeted in operation, report Error 666 to Help Desk @ Killer-Drones-R-Us.
To Pat from Vic
The Company the sells the laser technology to mono farmer Corporations may well compete with the Company that sells gene-altering toxic poisons to the mono farmer Corporations but it’s still the same issue.
The idea of large scale mono farming at the behest of controlling Companies who have set themselves up to feed people who don’t know how to feed themselves.
Smart farmers should be turning away from this model.
If they turn away from heavily poisoning their crops, to now zapping them they still don’t get it.
Their focus remains on supply not nutrition.
In the spirit of offering solutions it doesn’t come in the form of AI technology.
It lies in permaculture design of crops using organic methods that compliment and deal with nature without needing much interference at all.
This is not a new idea, it’s just one that has been replaced.
We need to remember what historically worked instead of thinking we can’t go back to those ways.
We can and we should.
For those who complain that their food is being tampered with prior to market, cry me a river.
Until you reject the way it has been produced, nothing will ever change.
1. All NATURAL FOOD and produce can be grown by ANYONE.
2. GOM food and produce is subject to patent rights and LICENSING.
3. Replacing NATURAL FOOD and PRODUCE with GMO FOOD and PRODUCE means that ALL food and produce will be under the CONTROL of the patent holders!!!!!!!!!
That is why farmers are required to surrender their natural seeds when they subscribe to planting GMO seeds.
Think about it, Normies! It’s short term gain for ETERNAL PAIN!
Pat from Vic said, “And certain commenters are worryingly sounding like universally anti-tech”
A simple “no” would have been sufficient and your response did nothing to promote constructive conversation.
Beware of AI bearing “gifts”! It’s “neuron” flashes are quicker than the eye.
What you gets may not be what you see!
Great idea the Laser Zappers for insects are!
Install some at the entrance to Parliament House and zap any cockroaches or maggots that enter. Keep Australia clean!
Commenter Dandy,
You are being stubborn now, it is a direct, clear and concise response to your posting which only extrapolates a little bit from there.
Dandy said – “You actually think they care which the good bugs and bad bugs are?… I doubt they even know the difference… If they did then they wouldn’t promote Roundup…”
Seems to me your ubiqitous unidentified “they” has you blinded to the entire point of this article, which SHOULD be hard to miss because it’s spelt out in the headline.
Here’s some more guff beyond the limited X post in the article…
.io/agrotech/revolutionary-ai-powered-laser-for-weed-control-can-save-our-crops/
(stick “web-mind” at the front)
It’s a ROBOT. Who said Monsanto has anything to do with it? The article headline above infers precisely the OPPOSITE. One might legitimately ask how AUTOMATING weed eradication and pest control, WITHOUT CHEMICALS, could be a BAD thing. Hard-pressed farmers might like to know.
The issues surrounding the destructive philosophy of factory farming and monoculture cultivation are real and relevant to sustainable agricultural economies and ecologies, not to mention the health of consumers. HOWEVER, since when is the small-scale traditional farmer PROHIBITED from considering productivity multipliers like robotic innovations? This sort of technology is already successfully improving otherwise arduous and meticulous tasks like planting and harvesting crops, so why not weed and pest control?
And just BTW, some crops are TRADITIONALLY monoculture, with grains and vineyards and olive groves coming immediately to mind. To quote an old saying, it would be a shame to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

It was the Qld Health Department a few years ago that warned Mothers not to heat the babies milk bottles in the microwave, because the microwave destroyed the milk enzymes.
Now that we have dumb and dumber running the show, no one remembers and it no longer matters.
Joe Bogan I’m not sure where your colourful rant is going but it does get tiresome when we have commentators on CN who want to string everyone up, but offers no real solutions.
Corporations are the problem.
Period.
Commenter Dandy
They said the AI can identify different bugs, so the bad bugs will have to live faster and breed faster and move out of the way faster and the good bugs will become lazy and overbreed and get out of balance, meanwhile the AI will be retargeted to zap everything with Elon Muck’s StarLink satellite grid, when the chip is glued into your skull they will send you questions relating to the latest fake news on the ABC-TV and if you (mentally) answer wrong such as “I don’t like Ita” then ZAP you’re gone. 5 year horizon.
To Pat from Vic,
You miss the point completely.
You actually think they care which the good bugs and bad bugs are?
I think not.
I doubt they even know the difference.
If they did then they wouldn’t promote Roundup which kills the entire garden plot indiscriminately (and is a recognised carcinogenic) for which they continue to pay out lawsuits on.
Suddenly they care?
Neither do we need big Corporations to grow our food in this silly money making way with rows and rows of the same veges waiting for the bugs to turn up en masse.
This is a Corporate idea.
People used to have their own plots.
If you want to trust this Chemical company to prezap your food prior to market then that’s your perogative.
I’ll go with a la naturale.
At least my bugs are healthy.
In my own plot.
Godeschalk said – “You worryingly sound like you work for the C.S.I.R.O.”
And certain commenters are worryingly sounding like universally anti-tech troglodytes with nary a clue. Sadly, not unlike the legendary Greens, who would have us all living in caves just like those equally legendary Troglodytes.
Maybe go dig up Tesla, reanimate him and kill him again just because. He liked techy stuff too, don’t you know.
At least some crop sprayers get what’s coming for them. Saw one dangerously close to a powerline, last week. Heard later, that he crashed & that was the end of him. R.I.P.
Pat from Vic
You worryingly sound like you work for the C.S.I.R.O. please assure us that you do not.
Dandy said – “…food that has been electromagnetically damaged through laser technology.”
Yes, yes, please do elucidate.
The collimated and usually monochromatic optical energy in regular old visible and superluminal lasers is the same as what’s delivered within the spectrum of everyday sunlight (except that laser output is collimated and usually tightly monochromatic).
You can build a CO2 laser or a Nitrogen laser in your own kitchen with some relatively inexpensive materials, some suitable electric gear, and basic tools. The former producing IR, the latter UV. Both invisible to the naked eye, and both very dangerous because of the potentially high energy density and extremely high power density, which can and will burn stuff (just like regular old HEAT and UV can burn stuff). This is possible because a laser is a light AMPLIFIER.
Dangerous if not handled appropriately, but completely different animals to the RF energy being deployed in communications, ovens and weaponry.
The tractor arrangement shown in the video appears to be indentifying and burning bugs and aberrant weeds, presumably scanning with visible light to identify targets and then hitting those with an IR laser. The little puffs of flame and smoke seem to support that view.
IMO an excellent innovation, highly efficient and virtually foolproof, leaving just the desired critters in the vegetable patch without nasty residue from Big Pharma or anyone else.
Hardly any risk to the food thereby grown. At least, no more risk than if the tractor was towing a big magnifying glass to fry the naughty bits with focused sunlight.
So where’s the story? I thought this was a (digital) newspaper?
Anyway…
Has everyone seen the “Motion Calling for a National Strike to End the Belligerent Occupation of a Foreign Force”? (withdrawal of service by Australian citizens from government and corporations) https://petition.qomon.org/end-the-belligerent-occupation-national-australian-strike/
So
Farmers in Australia are brainwashed into believing the Agriculture Department actually knows what it doing!! Is there ANY Govt Department that actually understands nature and reality? Seems each Govt we get is WORSE than the previous one – no matter what side they are on! But then maybe that’s because they rely on dipsticks in the Public Service to advise them!
We need one of these laser zappers mounted overhead our politicians in parliament, tuned to detect B.S.
Good news for humanity knowing that the ever trustworthy humanitarian Monsanto corporation has a new gene & dna altering mRNA poison to spray onto & be absorbed by our food crops. What could possibly go wrong!
It highlights how stupid large Agriculture really is.
They have no understanding of the value of the microbiome of the soil, the interconnectedness of ecology.
They will fail in their short sighted endeavours as they kill off the balance of nature (eventually).
I don’t think they care about that.
If people were to learn the history of chemical Companies such as Monsanto they would not support them at all.
And if people were to go back to growing their own food in their own backyards, instead of being too lazy or too busy entertaining themselves then they would not have to eat food that has been electromagnetically damaged through laser technology.
We already know that cooking food in a microwave destroys the goodness out of it.
Try being an enzyme under 2.4GHz.
Might as well eat some cardboard.
If they are not poisoning it, they are now zapping it.
No wonder the world is so sick.
Yeah we got off the grass quickly because it was wet and Monsanto just sprayed it with Roundup. Ed
“New Monsanto Spray…” probably modifies human genes too so let’s go for it hey!. It’s a new way for Big Bang enthusiasts to evolve.
Yes… Must be legit – from the great honest and unbiased, science based (‘trust the science’) and, therefore anti-humanity, pro-climate crisis boondoggle, pro-deindustrialization and clean/green energy promoting climate cultist’s leading doom & gloom propaganda site: Mother Jones
Say no more.
As we used to condescendingly retort to anyone spewing this sort of nonsense in the 1970’s: I’ll say the same about this and the pseudoscience and alarmist propaganda peddling website it’s championed by:
Get Off the Grass… 🤦♂️
Simply put
MONSANTO – We lie, you die!

Of course we must have the new modRNA bug spray for the food. The UN Communist Takeover gov’t is determined to get this [and the biotech spike proteins] into people. Probably the only bugs that will be compatible with with this are the modRNA bugs.
The CT gov’t is just going to stonewall until most are too injured (or dead to fight back). On GB News qt, listen to that floating Islamic turd Rishi Sunak stonewall a Scottish man whose health is now wrecked by the bioweapon he authorised.
In format of this stupid presentation, we are supposed to think this is the UK PM of English, British and Scottish nations (of people) making an appropriate reply to a man of Scotland.
There is no reply in English or Gaelic these UN CTs can make. They have implemented a standard issue communist genocide on Scottish, English and Irish nations. To whom is this jacked up Piece of Shit really speaking? Listen to the tone. Sunak is too stupid to know it, but he is speaking to one
“who knows not Kismet and one who knows not fate”
It is Raymond. It is Robert. It is Wallace at the gate.
