Victorian farmers have been blocking foreign power companies for years from ruining their prime food growing paddocks with massive wind turbines and towering power lines

Queensland farmers don’t want a Victorian situation of standoffs with foreign power companies destroying their paddocks

Robbie Katter warns of power companies or miners coming to invade farms after LNP seeks extra powers to confiscate farmland

When the government tables a bill allowing coal seam gas wells, solar farms and wind turbines to bulldoze their way through prime agriculture land, the red flags must be raised, KAP leader, Robbie Katter has said, ahead of a community forum in Toowoomba on Thursday.

A collective of concerned local lobby groups has called a community forum in Toowoomba on Thursday to hear concerns from a wide spectrum of the community, from landholders, conservationists, and property rights advocates.

“When such a wide range of groups are coming together, you know there’s real concern,” Mr. Katter said.

“LNP backbenchers in the regions, where they won government, must be squirming watching this roll on.

“The government haven’t told Queensland why they need the extra powers (on top of those they already have) to compulsorily acquire private land.

“We shouldn’t stand by and give government a bigger hammer when they haven’t defined the nail.

“The biggest concern for me is these powers aren’t a one-time-use kind of deal; they are permanent.

“What happens in the future when Labor needs the Greens to form government?  Will they use these powers to acquire private land for battery factories, or locking up even more land?  It’s scary stuff,” Mr. Katter said.

In their submission to the parliamentary committee examining the bill (of which Mr. Katter is a member), AgForce stated, “This legislation undermines integrational landholder investment and planning and puts the resources sector in direct competition with agriculture sector, threatening our core obligation as reliable producer of food and fibre for the nation and for our global trade partners.

“It just doesn’t make sense why we’re putting so much at risk, eroding confidence for farmers to do what they do best, and all for what?” the KAP leader said.

“The only conclusion I can come to is it’s got something to do with building the Olympics.  The only submitters to the committee who were really in favour were the quarry operators, needing more aggregate than they currently can get for concrete and the like.

“If that’s the reason, the government should say so and limit the powers for that purpose.

“I’m pretty in tune with the miners in the north west and across the state; it’s our bread and butter.  None of them are coming to me saying they’re being held back by land access.

“When I get big graziers calling me scared of new laws, not just farmers on prime ag land, there’s big problems,” he said.

10 thought on “LNP joins Labor/Greens coming for prime agricultural land in Queensland: Katter”
  1. Land, Labour, Kapital… The classic means of production. Labour and Kapital are now well in hand and under captive control. That just leaves LAND acquisition for TOTAL CONTROL of all means of production and ultimate ownership of everything we own except our happy-ness.

  2. I would think that underground electricity transmission lines would be cheaper in the long term than having towers and wires that have an infamous history of causing death and destruction from bush fires that they caused to happen .

  3. Could someone explain to me who the LNP are?
I thought they got rid of the leader they all voted in and then suddenly kicked out. Strange people. They wanted to govern yet their own are unsafe.
As far as I am concerned, they are non existent. Of no value to me. Who is the guy supposed to be rescuing it? Just froth on waves that cannot be stopped. And the other Parties, they will just sink the ship and no epirbs can save it.
But I am disappointed. Very disappointed. The ‘Marketing’ guy undid it for me and it hasn’t improved since.
Now my vote will go to someone I don’t want. Because Australia will not come first.
This is now Dictators get in. No real choice.
Good luck Australia. Or perhaps I should say “God bless” for we are going to need that.

  4. Does anyone support the people (of Australia)? I explain this in brackets in case you are confused about who we/they are?
If you listen to the politicians, we are multiculturalists. Have those who built this great nation with a great personal freedom disappeared and just become a mix? How did that happen?
Well, slowly, slowly catch the monkey.
There is a huge worldwide takeover of land now. The Sykes Picot borders will no longer exist as we know them.
State borders as we know them today will eventually be changed. Please God, don’t let us become like Victoria. And now probably W.A The UN can’t help anyone so they become part of the problem.
So it’s free for all. Dog eat dog. Winner takes it all.
But good on the farmers and land owners. Stay strong. You are really standing for all of us.

  5. Interim winners are the power line installers. Wait some decades and then on-sell, but to who?
The UN or some related entities have access to free money. Try them.
Is legislation being used like a weapon to grift land for select groups?
Call it what you will – eminent domain, compulsory purchase, expropriation, whatever.
Land is being ‘surrendered’ by intergenerational farming families, for no good reason, imo.
Long story short from the grifter’s worldview: get the farming families off the land asap.

  6. The Uniparty at work, nothing to see there, folks. Absolutely nothing. Everyone in the bought and paid for Uniparty is on the same page. Except for us Average Joes who pay our way.

  7. Only the Orange Party has been really vocal about the fake ClimateChange promotion of NettZero. Individuals such as Matt Canavan have rejected NettZero but who has spoken against the lie of ClimateChange except the Orange Party. The ABC-TV covers up the fraud.
The ClimateChange narrative serves several purposes but nothing to do with saving the world environment etc.
    i) it’s a cover for introduction of CarbonCredits, a new financial system similar to superannuation in that it involves ripoffs.
ii) it is a cover for weather engineering which may have commercial ( real estate ), covert military &/or depop purposes.
iii) it blindsides the public, causes division and fear among the young and the ignorant.
So many people see through the CoV-ID and ClimateChange narratives, they are all piling on board with the Orange Party now.
It is a rock-solid reason for dumping the blue party, some of whose supporters have already defected to Teals Party from fear of the sky falling. The Teals Party is wedded to the fraud of CO2 being toxic to the environment. It’s insane.
The ALP and Greens Party are happy to be wrong to the point of psychiatric problems even though the Greens party lost a lot of support last election they see no other way out than to follow their WEF-educated spiritual leader Sara Hanson Young, anywhere.
The ALP back-benchers amount to 90% of their seats, they are not allowed to talk or think, except to read out questions at question-time, which are designed to demonstrate party loyalty by the reader. The ALP party structure is truly communist and even when their voters are tipped out of their public housing and forced to live in their car or a public toilet, they probably still vote ALP. The UnaParty has no conscience and no future vision except for the individual careers of the leadership. They lost my vote many years ago and it’s about time those “I do not vote” people got out and supported some of the minor parties we have, instead of contributing to the problem.

  8. WTF???!!! Maverick Bob’s been in the QLD LTD Parliament for 50-plus years and does not realise they are corporate?
    You’re kidding me?
A bloke from Tassie told me that his power company in northern Tasmania told him that government ministers have shares in the company. So what does that mean? You should all know.
It means that the QLD INC Parliament, and those in the parties referred to, are all in conflict of interest and in breach of contract, and have no rightful mandate to even be in public office, because they are not.
THEY are in a private corporate corporatocracy, such that we might need to get Pat From VIC and his rope slingers to grab a few reels of the hessian stuff and head the posse up to QLD, that’s what.
Bob has no business scratching head about it, rather, he should call it out and tell them all they THEY are illegitimate.
