i hear that there is a big problem and there might be.
i remember way back in the 70s and 80s the inner sydney suburb marrickville was full of greeks and some lebanese maybe but there wasnt a problem. i had been there several times back then and from what i could see was that the houses were a but ragged and cheap so the immigrant families pooled their money and bought there. The food was good better than sausage rolls pies or devon sandwiches with tomato sauce on them.
recently spent 3 months driving up and down the east coast from cooloola coast noosa all the way down to southern tasmania and back stopping at nearly every town on the way because i wanted to see the towns the coastline and the type of people to get a vibe of whats out there and maybe see somewhere i would move to.
all of that time all of the towns maybe 25 or 30 of them i never saw or heard any disturbance or shouting. nothing. what i saw were normal people having a normal australian type of lifestyle. the worst part was some friends of mine that i stayed with in queensland encouraged me to watch a rugby league game and they were jumping up and down and shouting a lot. that was the worst i saw. no punch ups. nothing.
apparently bankstown and lakemba are almost pure muslim towns now. but why go there. i saw muslims chinese indians and who knows what else on my travels but no trouble.
i know there are some rough neighborhoods around like purfleet near taree nsw where they steal cars and beat up and rob if they can. it sounds a bit like cairns and townsville trouble spots and they are australians. but why go there.
so basically. without meaning to. i scanned the most populated coast line in australia and saw a lot of contented people. tradies mothers with their children the grey nomads with their mobile caravan show. most adult men wearing thongs shorts tea shirts the girls on the beaches wearing g strings had me puzzled. who would want to walk around with a rope up there bum. new trend. i only saw a few girls with fat lips. maybe that is on the outer.
