BE aware of the hidden danger in the “easy” Senate voting method, warns psephologist Lex Stewart, who has been approached by Cairns News to comment on the preferential voting system.
If you are among the 91% who do not want to vote for the Greens, then please read on, because your vote can, without you realising it, assist the Greens.
The ballot paper (for the Senate voting method from 2016) specifies that you vote:
– either by numbering 1 to at least 6 boxes /.‘above the line’ (ATL)
– or by numbering 1 to at least 12 boxes ‘below the line’ (BTL).
“Many voters do the easy thing and vote 1 to only 6 ATL not realising that that type of vote favours the Greens, helping them to get a Senate seat, even though you did not mention the Greens, nor want to help them,” says Mr Stewart.
“This is because the new voting method allows for a senator to be elected on less than a full quota, and also creates ‘exhaustion’ of votes. The old method required every Senator to get a full quota (14.3%), but the new method gives an advantage to Greens, because Senators can get in on less than a quota.”
He says that under the old method, the Greens had to get enough preferences to get them up from their usual circa 9% of the votes (which is 0.63 of a quota) so as to achieve a full quota of 14.3%.
“However this new method was designed by the Greens, and was for years advocated by the Greens, but by nobody else, until PM Malcolm Turnbull rammed it through Parliament,” says Mr Stewart.
“Hansard shows that the ALP was furiously against this new method, because they understood that it would give an unfair advantage to the Greens.” The procedure of vote-counting done by the AEC proceeds as follows :
(i) The AEC selects candidates with more than one quota (14.3%), i.e. usually the first five senators elected are from the major parties, ALP and Lib/Nats;
(ii) The sixth seat depends on the allocation of preferences, and it is “up for grabs”.
(iii) The AEC eliminates candidates with the lowest number of votes and distributes their preferences (if any) on those ballot papers to other candidates;
(iv) But if you numbered 1 to only 6, then your vote lacks 7,8,9,10 etc preferences to flow on to build up a rival to overtake the Green sitting there with 0.63 of a quota, and therefore many votes ‘exhaust’ i.e. have no further influence on the outcome.
Therefore the Greens often end up winning the final Senate seat with only 0.63 of a quota, and you, numbering 1 to only 6, have, without you realising it, helped them to get there.
Stewart notes that in the 2016 election, the Greens got 8.7% of the votes but 12% of the senators and in the 2019 election, the Greens got 10% of the votes, but 15% of the senators.
“If you want your Senate vote to not favour the Greens, then please number ever square above the line, putting the Greens last,” he says. “Or if you number squares below the line, then number more than 12, putting a number in every column, with the number in the Greens column being the last number.
“Strictly speaking the new Senate voting method does not favour the Greens by name, but the mathematics of the voting method favours, for the sixth Senate seat, a “medium” Party, i.e. one which gets about two-thirds of a quota.
“Major parties get above two quotas (28%), while minor parties get less than half a quota. Usually the Greens are the only medium party.”

The only people who can vote for a corporation require shares in that company. All Oz states and MPs have registered ABNs as they are corporate identities far beyond what was envisioned in the 1900 constitution. Tim Dwyer has the paper work now to challenge them to restore our constitution to its true form and remove their treason and corruption for good.

Pat – I should add that once information is shared its up to people to do their own research if they want to. I tried to help a neighbour with a simple natural remedy and she said that she preferred to just take drugs.

Pat from Vic – I use already diluted DMSO 1.3% (and its cheap) – 3-4 drops in luke warm herbal tea on empty stomach or apply after shower for arthritis as spray. You can also buy DMSO cream mixed with aloe vera gel.
I also take MSM powder and have done for years in my coffee each morning and the taste is slightly bitter but OK and have never had any side effects of any kind.
These all are related to glutathione, an essential amino acid and super antioxidant. I also take NAC. I think they all detox the body.
The MB should be mixed with 1 tsp of vitamin C powder in 200ml water – wait til it turns a pale green colour and drink. Do not drink on its own. As to drops, one should research dosage – there is a lot of info out there. I only use about 4 and use intermittently, but if treating something, more is needed.

FWIW, taking 30 mls of DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) every half hour or so for 12 hours after the start of a stroke has seen victims fully recover at home with no discernible side effects and no brain damage.
We’re talking Pharmaceutical Grade DMSO, just BTW, which can be purchased from veterinarians because it’s widely used on animals, although here in Australia the medical use of DMSO on humans is “illegal” (of course). And it’s rather expensive, about $100 per litre, roughly the same price as Emu Oil.
FWIW, the LD50 toxicity of DMSO is about the same as pure water, though I’d challenge anyone to drink anything more than a few tablespoons of the stuff because it tastes bloody awful. The only way I can get it down is mixed in orange juice.

In WA they finished counting the vote, where Roger Crook was already declared winner a while ago.
In the Lower House One Nation got MORE VOTES than in the Upper House and in the Upper House One Nation got 2 seats, however, in the Lower House they got ZERO.
This indicates the Lower House is Unrepresentative Swill with all seats going to the UnaParty.

Preferential voting, if done properly, actually makes it harder for major parties because it effectively means the various freedom party votes become combined.
1-6 system was brought in after a growing trend of freedom voices being elected. Obvious to me is that 1-6 system is just another form of election rigging. E.g. If there are 12 freedom leaning parties on the ballot paper but people just vote 1-6, then it basically halves the chances of one of those being elected – often resulting in a larger party (like the Greens) being elected by default.
ATL or BTL essentially doesn’t really matter. If you are a freedom voter, like myself, what is important is that you identify ALL freedom leaning candidates and preference them all – do not just stop at 1-6. If voting above the line and there’s 20 boxes I personally will number all twenty, which may end up something like Libs 16th, Teals 17th, Labour 18th, Animal Justice Party 19th and Greens 20th.
I’m getting really very worried and really bogged down, my husband is not well at all again ……….(come on please God, give us a break )……..
So I’m just wondering if anyone has the time to compile a list of the handful of Honorable Politicians to vote for which we can keep placing in articles and spreading the word on how to vote (for all those who are going to vote) – Here’s a start >
