As we reported these acoustic devices were used against protesters in Canberra on Saturday. Cairnsnews spoke to one protester, an ex-serviceman from RAAF who said the technology is basic but effective which made him unwell and left him dizzy with ringing ears.
The operators in the video above warns getting too close the sonic blaster, which can emit more than 150 decibels, can shatter eardrums.
In the video below Aussie Cossack asks individual police officers if they will give a young girl some ear plugs to protect her from the debilitating sound waves. It seems the officers are deaf and mute. Maybe its their earplugs and masks? How did they get a job with ACT or Australian Federal police? We can guess.

Doesn’t the Crimes Act make it a gaolable offence to interfere with one’s right to political protest by bombarding them with electronic weaponry? Weaponry is unjustified unless it is to protect persons or quell violence.
Where are the treacherous politicians who are supposed to be “protecting” us? They didn’t have to go far, all they needed to do was step outside. But obviously it was still too far for them.

What if one used ear plugs, headphones and shield?
It is impossible to reach 150 decibels from a broadcast device — you
might get that high from the blast coming from an explosion.
I was in charge of noise pollution control Branch in NSW in year 1979
(then again in 1988) and I studied the acoustics component of the Master
of Engineering degree.
Sound or noise is a wave oscillating between a positive pressure then
a negative pressure at the frequency of the sound – i.e.
positive/negative being above/below normal atmospheric pressure.
You cannot get a negative pressure so negative that it goes below
zero, which is a perfect vacuum; therefore a sound wave from a broadcast
device is in practicality limited to about 120 decibels by memory.
I have been in a disco measuring noise (oh well, some people called
it rock music) at about 116 dB(A) and my stomach and insides were churning.
Noise levels above about 118 dB(A) have never to my knowledge ever
been measured as coming from a loudspeaker or other broadcast device.
( also when one talks about “decibels”, it is meaningless unless
one specifies the type i.e. dB(A), or dB Lin, or dB(C) and/or the
frequency range)
The noise from a blast explosion is not a symmetrical wave, but a net
pressure wave moving forwards, so its intensity of positive pressure
could be much higher, but one still cannot get negative pressures below
zero.
