ICLEI the real international driver of local government not local communities
Letter to the Editor
The root of all our Local Council problems is UN partner ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives).
It’s the unspoken higher circle in LG.

“The leading network of local and regional governments “ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability” has announced its new leadership following a one-year global democratic election process.” https://iclei.org/en/media/release-iclei-elects-new-leadership-through-global-democratic-process
“ICLEI Global Executive Committee 2021-2024 – Regional seats of Oceania is Amanda Stone, Councillor, City of Yarra, Australia.”
“ICLEI Global Executive Committee 2021-2024 – Portfolio: Urban research on sustainability challenge solutions is Dr. Cathy Oke, Enterprise Senior Fellow in Informed Cities, Connected Cities Lab, Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning, Melbourne School of Design, Melbourne, Australia”
“Special Advisor to the Global Executive Committee is Amanda Stone, Councillor, City of Yarra, Australia. Advisor to: Nature, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Restoration portfolio”

This Global agenda just overrides the local communities. Around our own community we look in dismay at the huge Chinese style towers replacing our surburban homes. Nothing is ‘sacred’ to the globalists and their initiates.
ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network of more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in 125+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for low emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development. Our Members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability. Does Australia need this interference?
We say kick out the United Nations.

It has infiltrated our councils for a long time. I first read of it several years ago….it is an off shoot of the UN.
It is composed of communist Greens and our Councils, too lazy to do any research, latched on to it like babies to a bottle.
It is the UN using the back door to take us over.Very detrimental to our country.

The shadow government of the UN organisation can be seen here!
This shows ICLEI’s far reaching effect and why Australians are being strangled of independence. The UN organisation is a spider’s web over the nations.

What part of “NO” is it that the establishment does not understand after two, 1974 and 1988 referendums said NO- “We the people do not want the third tier of government” Councils known as Local Government are illegal, they are in fact a state government DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVANTS.. where do they get to holding COMPULSORY elections for a phantom government ??????

A REFERENDUM ON THE FINANCIAL RECOGNITION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN THE AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION WAS TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SEPTEMBER 14 FEDERAL ELECTION. HOWEVER, DUE TO AN EARLIER ELECTION ON 7 SEPTEMBER, THE REFERENDUM COULD NOT PROCEED.
THE AUSTRALIAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (ALGA) CONTINUES TO WORK TO ACHIEVE THE INCLUSION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN THE CONSTITUTION.

IMO Local Councils would equate to the word Soviets.

Now that’s a great analogy. Remember the NFF and other farmer’s organisations? They perform the same role. Ed

I don’t quite comprehend the reverence to “local government” THERE ISN’T ANY” the 1988 referendum absolutely prohibited it.
The QLD public service act 2008 acknowledges at div 4 section 4 para 2 that local government is not a government entity.
The 1988 referendum is federal law, so section109 of the 1901 constitution invalidates the Qld councils act.

Local government is fundamentally a debutantes ball for budding political whores.
It’s where they learn to curtsy and bend over for the LNP-Labour/Greens duopoly powerbrokers.

Alison Ryan just must be a relation on mine. The UN created the Australian Local Government Association to promote a referendum to have local government incorporated in the Australian Constitution. Their own survey discovered that an additional 10% of Aussies reject local government as endemically corrupt, showing how the position is much worse than when Bob Hawke attempted this in 1984.
Let me join my dear relative Allison in calling for the expulsion of the United Nations.

These were the commissars who enabled the Bushfire Summer 2019 – 2020. Huge fines for farmers and property owners clearing fireload. Of course one of the big ones for the 17 SDG is to drive people off their land.
The UN control of the Local Government Authorities through ICLEI must cease. These Communist UN widgets must be stood down in every LGA.
