Nearly all of the patients admitted to Sydney hospitals when the latest Covid outbreak started several weeks ago had been vaccinated according to hospital staff who contacted Cairns News.

But some Queensland cops are not going down without a fight. At least 30 of them and their families have engaged a solicitor to fight the mandate.

They have set up a crowd-funding page to raise money to hire a lawyer, and it has received more than $18,000 in donations in just a handful of days.

For this outrage the dizzy blonde Commissioner Katarina Carrol, a career public servant, said she would have the fund raising investigated. Do not upset the Covid brotherhood…or sisterhood, now it appears….

But the Queensland Police Force has a union led by former officer and suspected megalomaniac Ian Leavers who once said only police should own firearms.

So it seems this courageous troop have not asked for his help.

Many of those donating appear to be serving and retired police officers, and the group behind the social media page seem to be taking a broader stance on vaccine mandates for employees in other sectors, public or private.

They also stressed that they were not “anti-vaccine”.

“We are not pro- or anti- the vaccine. This is not a pro- or anti- vaccine matter,” the group stated.

“It is a question of whether our employers on behalf of the government can authorise civil conscription and interfere with the relationship between a patient and their doctor by mandating a vaccine.”

They said that Australia has a “representative democratic government structured to afford its citizens legal protection against the exercise of arbitrary political power.”

In a statement, Commissioner Katarina Carroll said a highly vaccinated population was “the greatest protection we have against the virus”.

“That is why the QPS is mandating vaccinations for the entire workforce in all QPS workplaces within the next five months to protect employees, their families and the community from COVID-19,” Commissioner Carroll said.
