So where are all the trans soccer players? Kirralie Smith reflects

Today represents a full circle moment for me. In 2022 my son played his first official season of soccer. He thrived! In fact he won most valuable player of the junior club.

Watching the penalty shootout this morning for the Socceroos was so nerve wracking as it was almost the exact same scenario my son was in for his grand final that year. He was goalie and his team won.

He and his beautiful wife were blessed to be at the game in the stadium in Dallas today. I am such a proud mum.

But it also began one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Not long after his victory and amazing achievements I was thrust into the unbelievable situation of advocating for women’s only sport.

The word woman was redefined to include males and these males have been allowed – and protected – to play in women’s sport.

I have been in court for more than three years for taking information the football clubs posted and then highlighting that men should not be in women’s sport. I am under a two year apprehension of violence order for speaking the truth while males are allowed to play contact sport against girls.

I have been ordered to pay $95,000 in damages for hurting the feelings of two of these men. No evidence of damage done to them has been provided and there is no regard for the damage done to women in sport.

Today I will speak at a rally in Melbourne. Laws that defy reality must be changed. It is immensely cruel to lie and say men can be women. I will not be deterred and I look forward to standing with a multitude today who are drawing a line in the sand!

This, of course, was enabled in Australia through amendments to the federal Sex Discrimination Act by the former Gillard Labor government, which deleted the biological definitions of ‘man’ and ‘woman’ from the federal statutes.

Gillard, in a university appearance in the UK, claimed “no one” understood the implications of that amendment to the Sex Discrimination Act. She and the cultural Marxist left knew very well what they were doing.

The Coalition has introduced a Sex Discrimination Amendment (Sex-based Rights) Bill 2026 to counteract the effects of the Gillard amendments.

The fact that feminists are part of the pushback against gender ideology indicates how unpopular the idea of “trans rights” is with the wider population who instinctively adhere to the idea that males and females have not only physical but emotional/psychological differences.

Australian Feminists for Women’s Rights (AFWR) is one feminist organisation that demands protection from transgender men using women’s only spaces, yet when instances of this happen, the LGBTQ+ lobby jumps in with their government and corporate-funded lawyers – as happened with Kirralie Smith and others.

AFWR protested in a submission to the Statutory Review of the Online Safety Act 2021, that the use of the e-Safety Commissioner in “surveillance and witch-hunting based on the Commissioner’s adoption of genderist ideology, while failing to adequately investigate (or investigate at all) other complaints.”

“Genderist ideology” is exactly why Australians are pushing back. This ideology has worked its way into the anti-discrimination laws to the point where mere criticism of a transgender person almost constitutes a criminal offence, or at the very least expensive civil damages cases such as the one between Kirralie Smith and the male-turned-trans soccer player “Stephanie Blanch”.

When Kirralie discovered “Ms Blanch” playing in a local women’s soccer team she kicked up against the situation, believing Ms Blanch posed a physical threat to the other players.

She posted her views on social media and organised a group of men to come down to the soccer field. They booed Ms Blanch, which was no doubt an unpleasant situation, but should “she” not have expected some sort of pushback?

Unfortunately for Kirralie, a district court judge saw it all as a “sustained campaign of belittling, harassment and intimidation”.

Ms Blanch filed a police report and sought an AVO against Ms Smith, which was granted on appeal in the district court. Ms Smith unsuccessfully appealed against the AVO in the NSW Supreme Court in August last year.

The trans lobby operates with favour from the ABC and other mainstream media, who either swallow the trans garbage ideology or are too scared to cast them in a negative light.

“The Binary Australia website posted multiple articles about Ms Blanch, one of which said the word woman was “[r]endered meaningless when a bloke in a frock is suddenly a woman, as we all know that a ‘woman’ is not a costume, false boobs or a drug to be taken”, the ABC reported last year.

The ABC went on to casually point out that “Binary Australia was listed as an extremist hate group by the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism in 2023.

“Counsel for Ms Blanch, Katie Green, said while the case focused on the protection of a trans woman against online harassment, the legal reasoning had “enormous significance” for schools and families dealing with cyberbullying.

“The courts recognise what thousands of students and families already know: words typed from behind a screen can hurt, intimidate, and destroy lives,” she said.

Cairns News might suggest some of these trans people “grow a pair”, figuratively, of course. Or would that statement be a tad to insensitive for the apparently fragile trans community who would have us believe that hormone disrupting drugs and radical “gender affirmation surgery” are somehow a “very natural” course to take in life.

And as for trans men who want to play in women’s sports, go form your own competition or play in a competition that correlates with your biological sex. If that’s a problem, try some other recreation and wake up to the fact that gender change brings all sorts of consequences which can leave not only dangerous physical scars but psychological scars as well.
