Labor created cheat sheets for public servants, directing them on how not to answer questions at Senate estimates. Labor have continually failed to answer basic questions at Senate estimates. Labor have shut down debate and guillotined legislation at a record rate, including forcing through 45 bills in the final sitting week of 2024. There’s Labor’s ongoing refusal to comply with simple requests for orders for the production of documents, and there are their delays when it comes to answering questions on notice. There’s Labor’s truth tax—its plans to introduce new charges for freedom-of-information requests—and stricter rules relating to cabinet confidentiality. There’s the Prime Minister’s mean, vindictive and personally nasty decision to sack opposition and crossbench staff. But things will only get worse.
Labor promised transparency but have delivered this culture of secrecy. The Prime Minister’s record on integrity isn’t just disappointing; it’s a genuine affront to democracy.

The existence of political parties in Australia is because the ‘founding’ politicians decided to follow ‘Westminster convention’ rather than the Constitution they had just inaugurated. Edmund Barton’s first primeministership was based on the results of a general election fought on party political lines. None of chapter II – the Executive Government (sections 61-70) – of the Constitution was ever implemented. The Governor-General, representing the Queen, was sidelined. It was business as usual for the party pollies of the time. And still is. The Constitution is constantly ignored, except when it is to the advantage of one party or the other (see section 15 of the Constitution).
So apart from failing to observe the founding law of the Commonwealth, the efforts to restrict access to the decisions of those who claim to be the government flies in the face of section 51 of the Constitution, which says:
” The parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have the power to make laws for the PEACE, ORDER, AND GOOD GOVERNMENT of the Commonwealth with respect to:” (sub-sections 1-39 follow).
As none of this legislation can be said to provide peace, order and good government, the parliament is failing in its prescribed duty, and all such legislation is therefore illegal and invalid.
Using ‘good government’ as the yardstick, most legislation that involves the curtailment of citizen’s rights, including Digital ID, the phasing out of all forms of energy for electricity production except ‘renewables’, etc., is illegal and invalid. Australian citizens are therefore not obliged to comply with any of the unconstitutional actions and dictates of those who claim to be the government of the Commonwealth. By acting illegally, they prove that they are not the true government of Australia.

My biggest disappointment is in the “minor party” candidates who are unable to form an umbrella group, if only to be able to exclude the fake minor parties set up by the major parties. It’s like herding cats, I won’t volunteer for Rennick or others who will not form a group and do not even have funding. Clive Palmer should finance an umbrella group with a simple constitution. If people can’t sign onto something like that they are not fit for purpose.
