I can tell you a lot about my first 26 years of my life experience livinin a socialist country of Romania.

Hang on people, Socialists are not necessarily communists. If it wasn’t for Socialist policies, there would no Government (handouts as some people call them). Aged pensions, social securities ( unemployment payments), Veteran pensions, social housing and Government nursing homes. None of these were around in the early years before the so-called free enterprise Governments were forced to provide socialist policies.

It was the Socialist with empathy, thinking people, that forced Governments to provide these services, not Communists or Capitalists.

What are you nay-sayers going to do if there is a real financial bust which does away with your superannuation? Are you going to refuse any Government handout that might be going?

Could you be more specific with those headlines? When I read the phrase “Socialist Alliance candidates” I immediately assumed you meant the Labor / LNP socialist alliance and thought people were waking up.

The Socialist Alliance are a bunch of tossers. local federal candidate was a councilor in lara, Geelong, for one term and never raised any issue about the 40-yes: 40-years some people n one street have been pleading for flood mitigation in that street. When it appeared in the local Murdoch rag I went to see the elderly chap who featured in the article, who confirmed the 40 year wait. This councilor, Sarah Hathway’s council sidekick, Anthony Aitken, has been in that Ward for some 28 years, and never managed to get that remediation done, which in current estimates involves around $2.5 million. Back in the day it would have amounted to a few tens of thousands.
Now, Council here want to offload 300 aged care workers who service some 3000 elderly clients, all of whom revere the staff that look after them.
I wrote to Hathway’s Socialist Alliance quango, who are housed in the Geelong Trades Hall, on the 10th of this month, to no reply so far, and do not expect one, as the SAs have, like council, an agenda that does not necessarily involve true representation of anyone, and have never answered any email, all on serious topics and issues, that I have sent them before.
I have beaten up the Mayor and CEO about the aged care issue, and got a couple of replies from the Mayor, who is a Doctor of Law.

But as far as the Socialist Alliance goes? They’re an absolute crock!
