Aboriginal groups from the Coen area in central Cape York Peninsula have not moved into the gifted and now dilapidated former biosecurity facility which protected the $600m Tablelands horticulture industry and the remainder of Queensland from invasive plant and animal pests.

Queensland Labor member for Cook Cynthia Lui negotiated the handover of this vital facility to a Coen indigenous group when the state environment department scuttled the group’s application to open a rock quarry after complaints from another quarry business.
Sources said the gift of the $2m biosecurity infrastructure, 20 klms north of Coen and the nearest hotel, was a trade-off for the failed quarry application made in 2022 by a local indigenous earthmoving company.
An annual influx of more than 100,000 tourist vehicles into Cape York posed a threat to the southern farming districts and biosecurity officers, some of whom were indigenous, inspecting south-bound vehicles for invading insects in fruit, vegetables and livestock.

Now there is no biosecurity barrier between Papua New Guinea, Torres Strait, its northern sea lanes and the remainder of Queensland.

Since 2016, South African immigrants and other family farmers have descended upon the Mareeba Dimbulah Irrigation Area to the south buying farms and planting large areas of grapes and citrus.
Sugar cane cropping is dominant throughout the district supplying the Arriga sugar mill.
Closure of the biosecurity facility to the north of this vast irrigation area will leave growers at the mercy of the red-banded mango caterpillar, black sigatoka banana disease and other insect invaders found in the Torres Strait and PNG.

Since Klaus Swab “Ve haf infiltrated ze cabinets” thinks he is running Australia why not ask him what his plan is for biosecurity, maybe he is working on an army of specialised robots to pick up cane toads, fire ants, rabbits and all the other failures of bio-security. None of this is really the aborigines fault though they are a handy scapegoat. For example with housing, mentioned below, I would guess that like anyone else in Australia, they are not allowed to build a house to their liking, without obtaining all sorts of permits. So then our communist style government steps in to “provide” housing. These houses seem to be based on a super cheap cottage concept made from hardies building products, and so forth. Perhaps the aborigines would prefer a small sleeping room with a huge verandah around, or perhaps they would prefer going hi-rise, a 3 or 4 storey building would provide good views which they would appreciate, no need for too many walls or doors, just the basic plumbing and if they want furniture they can go and buy it like anyone.
There should be an aboriginal housing design competition because Canberra government is clearly incapable of running this and virtually everything else gets stuffed up, what do you expect, they are descended from genocidalists.
When the design competitors have come up with a few designs they could put them together in a village and get a tafe college in there too, to train them up in hospitality, cooking and so forth. Then all those people in the aboriginal management industries would have no jobs and would instead perhaps have to ask Klaus Swab what we should do about bio-security. Border Force apparently also useless for anything as some boatloads of poachers were hiding in the mangroves the other day and Border Force could not be bothered to show up, the Navy was called in the end. Giving it to the local aborigies, they might as well have bulldozed it into oblivion. Absolutely fed up with the State & Federal governments handing taxpayer funded facilities, properties & etc to undeserving aboriginal wasters who still expect to be pampered, instead of standing on their own merits if any, their own efforts, and a modicum of self respect & ambition if that’s possible. How many more billions of taxpayers money will it take for these freeloaders to make an effort to get off the gravy train & start contributing?
Fleets of fishing trawlers gifted to them, but left to rot. Cattle stations gifted to them but neglected & the cattle & horses literally dying of thirst because no water made available to them!
Free houses given to them neglected, damaged & the people sleeping outside on the dirt next to a fire with their dogs. And

To date, the government is reputed to have spent $1Trillion of taxpayers money on services to these people. Currently $30+ Billion per year on just 3.4% of Australias population! Not forgetting the “royalty” payments from mining companies & etc.

No, I lived in Western Qld, went to school, played sports, grew up with aboriginal kids & men.
There are many proud, decent aboriginal people who work, bought their own homes etc, pay taxes & contribute positively to our country, society & sport. The government needs to stop pandering to the demands & expectations of the freeloaders who prefer to live off the taxpayers.
