lol Classic example of predictive programming and Goebbels style propaganda. The prelude to WW3 a la the WMD nonsense we swallowed in Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc, . Except the fall out this time will be a lil bigger and more significant.
Are China and Russia encroaching towards the US with their missile installations or is the US encroaching on them? Last time I checked the US quite a bit busier in that direction than either of them.

Yes Tony: most people fail to understand the economics of warfare: it’s a very costly business, that bankrupts more countries than fills their coffers.
A tank costs many millions to produce, whilst an anti-tank grenade or mine costs a few thousand. So destroying a tank with a cheap RPG or anti-tank mine is extremely cost effective.
It’s the same with battleships, as the RN learnt in the Falklands, billions of pounds worth of ships were destroyed by a few thousand pounds worth of Exocets.
Through this means, a smarter armed nation can win a war, – whilst remaining solvent.
Tanks and battleships are mostly obsolete. Cheap high tech guided rockets will be the future.

I have always said tanks are useless in modern combat.
In the 1980s, ADF sent tanks to the Top End, despite warnings by safari operators that they would be a liability, especially manned by operators who cannot read Top End Terrain.
Naturally, these “experts” ignored us. The outcome:
Tanks got bogged in the Wet Season and the single recovery vehicle brought got bogged too. ie ADF exercise bogged.
The ground is too wet from December to June, or even July. But in the Dry Season, a tank or APC will raise a dust cloud that can be seen for fifty kilometres. And still, nobody listens to us.
Obviously, the Yanks are about to learn the hard way that an Abrams is a bullseye for the Russian Jack in the Box. I think the US and NATO are about to learn a lot of things the hard way. Meanwhile, Anthony Effing Blinken, get your Marines and installations out of Australia or learn the hard way what NOT WELCOME means.
