BACK in August Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson called for a police investigation into alleged threats to kill Pauline Hanson made during the student-led “Say No to Hanson” protests against One Nation.
The “schoolies”, aka the High School Anti-Capitalists, are planning another anti-Hanson protest on November 11, Remembrance Day, and it’s unlikely cops will be tolerant of any attempts by this “protest” rabble to disrupt events on the day or to copy the actions of their comrades in Europe.
The scale of the August protest was impressive – a nationally-co-ordinated “student strike” in all state capitals. A large number of them were simply enjoying the buzz of day off out in the street, making a noise, but others among them actually thought they were fighting “the rise of fascism in Australia”.
Meanwhile high school students in France were being set up as foot soldiers by a vast and well-financed network of leftist and Islamic organisations desperately trying to disrupt the rise to power of Marie Le Pen’s political party and other rising anti-globalist populist movements across Europe.
The “protest” by students over alleged insufficient education facilities, long school days and other grievances quickly degenerated into an orgy of violence, looting and destruction that spread to Belgium, Italy, Albania, Spain and Portugal. The leftist-communist networks were having their day in the sun.
As for 16-year-old Australian high school students steeped in identity politics and New Left ideology, they are too young, misinformed and simply unable to comprehend why populism is on the rise across the globe and why Australians in large numbers are supporting One Nation.
They naively soak up the tired and outdated leftist ideology funneled down to them in their school curriculum, and in their youthful idealism, dutifully obey the standard orders from the background activist networks to “organise and take action in solidarity”.
However, given that we have a Socialist Left Labor government in Victoria facing an election on November 28, the union boys and girls will be wanting to make sure things don’t get too out of hand on November 11, like they have in Europe. Leftist violence is not something that is appreciated by the Australian electorate.
But go ahead Aussie schoolies, make fools of yourselves again by waving your banners, stomping your feet and screaming your lungs out over the rise of Pauline Hanson and One Nation. It will only help her cause because older Australians have had enough of the woke nonsense around “progressive” politics.
Threats of violence against Hanson will likewise not hurt her campaign, even if she has been forced to hire private security because of threatening text messages, voicemails, and harassment sent to her private phone, electorate office, and family members.
Schoolie protestors should also be aware that making any threat of violence against someone is a criminal offence, and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have charged a 47-year-old Perth man for allegedly posting online threats to “hunt down and kill” Senator Hanson.
This sort of violent discourse does no-one any good and can trigger disturbed people like the alleged attacker of MP Helen Haines, who has had both legs amputated due to her injuries.
