FWIW, solar cycles are right now potentially lining up to give us the Mother of all Winters, lasting anything from a decade or two to centuries or even longer if we’re unlucky. Only Time will tell, and for better or worse Time is a freeway without any off-ramps.

I don’t think all the vapour theories hold any water at all, various clouds just distribute heat, the heat input from the sun is 99% of the climate, there is a massive “heat sink” in the form of oceans and even the land down to a metre or two deep. Imagine the total density of this heat sink compared to the entire atmosphere. The heat sink is at least about ten times more massive than the air, so how could the temperature go up when all the land and sea have to heat up too. The CO2 falls to sea level where algae plankton consumes it and goes on to be eaten by whales, who are comfortable in any temperature of water. Minister Bowen is calling for the starvation of whales and should be straitjacketed. These people in Canberra are seriously mentally ill. For a lunatic asylum, the place is way too expensive, sucking up even a hugely disproportionate amount of GST. It should be permanently fenced off and denied any further funding.

Kind of exactly like how the glass works on solar hot water heaters. What goes in isn’t heat, but it is on the rebound, and the glass traps it.
And just BTW, the Earth’s biosphere would be about 30 degrees C cooler if not for that atmospheric blanketing effect.
And also just BTW, by far the greatest impact – around 75% or more – is from water vapour, CO2 hardly even figures in the overall equation, if at all. Historic records over millennia show that the amount of CO2 in the air FOLLOWS the temperature changes, not the other way around.
Thinking people might deduce some ramifications of these mechanisms. As the Earth cools and the water vapour in the air diminishes, and especially as the albedo – reflectivity – increases with increasing ice coverage, a point will come where a switch “flips” and the planet COLLAPSES into a deep freeze, a veritable snowball in space. The limit being when the entire planet is a frosty ice-covered solar mirror. Good luck getting out of that, it will take WAY MORE incoming solar radiation to reverse out of that trap.
And the converse is also true – as cycles progress and the incoming solar radiation gradually increases, the planet will slowly warm up to a point at which that switch “flips” again and the Greenhouse Effect feeds itself with ever-increasing atmospheric water vapour. One might characterise that as “runaway” Global Warming, but it’s really not so dire as that. The self-limiting factor in this case being a thick layer of cloud enveloping the entire planet.
The TRUTH is that the moderate weather we’ve all been enjoying for generations, even for centuries and millennia now, are an unstable moment of flux in geologic time between the two planetary extremes of a global frozen skating rink and worldwide pole-to-pole humid rainforests teeming with life.
Just ask avid historical researchers like Martin Armstrong – civilisations rise when it gets hot, and collapse when it gets cold. Where life on Planet Earth is concerned, Hotter is Better. But we’re about due in the coming decades for a decided worldwide Cold snap. Plan accordingly.

The original propaganda about acid rain, when I was in tech college 50 years ago, Caltrop, was that rain picked up particulate carbon on the way down. I remember nothing about CO2 in that regard from that bit of educations.

What may need to happen is that concerned people such as those commenting here might challenge their local Members with information such as that available from sometime contributor Gil May.
Gil claims, in his The Unknown History of Australia, that pole shifts and volcanoes-there are thousands of them under the sea-belch out CO2 on a massive scale-Gil describing the earth as a CO2 factory-feeding the plant life of this earth with the CO2 needed for them to survive and produce the oxygen and food we all need to survive.
These volcanoes, like Mt Pinatubo in Indonesia, belch out more CO2 than anyone can imagine, dwarfing human emissions entirely, and affecting temperatures regardless of the latter human output.
Politicians like Andrew Hastie are only espousing dumping the emissions targets as a ploy to make the Liberals more electable, and not as a concern for any truth telling about the facts of anything related to actual truth about these negligible human emissions.
If the governments were so concerned, they would give an explanation as to why hundreds of billions of dollars worth our our gas and oil are being exported every year (remember the recent failure of the $30 billion+ sale of Santos to the Arabs?-big bucks there) and why we can’t, b other countries can, use those resources.

Water is a natural solvent. Rain water is acidic due to carbon dioxide picked up in the atmosphere.
Any water soluble gas becomes more soluble as temperature decreases because, in and of themselves, gas molecules have little affinity for each other — after all, that is why they are gases. When dissolved in water, CO2 forms weak bonds with the water molecules. The lower the temperature, the stronger the bonds, the greater the amount of CO2 that can be dissolved.

Water and CO2 make carbonic acid (acid rain).
Plants need carbon and water.
So it makes sense to me that convection causes latent heat carrying water vapour to rise, then cool when it gets high enough, condense to form clouds, and release latent heat which continues to rise. CO2 then exercises its affinity for water which falls as a weak carbonic acid when the formation of droplets reach a certain size.
