MATT Kean, chairman of the Federal Government’s economic destruction unit aka the Climate Change Authority, is a compromised liar involved in a bank’s renewable energy investment company while loudly beating the climate baloney drum.
Kean, delivering the annual Talbott oration at the Australian Museum in Sydney, made the unbelievably ridiculous claim that “99% of Great Barrier Reef could be lost in next 20 years”. This is akin to predicting that Tasmania could disappear under the sea in the next 50 years.
And how might we prevent this happening? an ABC reporter asked. Oh, said the shiny-headed Kean, continue down the path of the transition to renewable energy.
Well of course Kean would tout renewable energy, because despite being a highly-paid Commonwealth public servant, he works for Wollemi Capital, a private green energy transition fund led by a former Macquarie banker.
Even the Nine Media reported on this conflict of interest last year, and Senator Gerard Rennick questioned Keane about it in a Senate committee hearing.
“Wollemi Capital make millions of dollars from investing in carbon credits – the same emissions offsets generated from carbon farming that the authority advises the government on and over which it influences the value,” the Financial Review reported.
“In estimates I asked Matt Kean why he thinks there isn’t a conflict of interest in being paid by both the taxpayers and renewable rent seekers Wollemi,” Rennick posted on X.
“He justifies his conflict by saying he disclosed it. That’s like saying I’m going to rob a bank but if I disclose it first I can go ahead and rob the bank. What’s even more amazing is how the media say nothing when it’s their mates engaging in this sort of behaviour.
“Kean and Chris Bowen should be referred to the NACC (National Anti-Corruption Commission) for this sort of behaviour. Then I ask him if he’s spoken with lobbyists.
“At first he says no but then goes on to say he’s spoken with government relations people of stakeholders. These people are glorified lobbyists who are employed full time by big corporations to constantly lobby the government for handouts.
“And finally I asked if he spoke with Michael Photios, one of the biggest lobbyists in Australia who once told me at the North Sydney Leagues club he could make me a politician if I wanted to become one due to his influence in the Liberal Party.
“Photios and Kean are both from the left faction in NSW, the faction that controls the Liberal Party and is responsible for it going woke. It’s a sad reflection on the two major parties that they cannot engage in ethical behaviour when it comes to spending taxpayer dollars,” says Rennick.

Many years ago Bob Katter told everyone the reef problems related to rivers flooding too much fertilizer, phosphate, runoff etc into certain areas. We were also assured by the deluded that ski season would end as the weather got hotter and hotter. Whales which travel from the antarctic to the tropics apparently will all die if the climate warms up by a degree or two. We are blinded by the bullshit there is so much of it. Even in regard to peak oil, there is so much coal under wasteland in Western Victoria and other places in Australia, the size of the coal reserves is mind boggling, there is no reason for Australia to worry about energy for 1000’s of years. The coal came from plants and via CO2 it will return to plants.

If Kean wants to ‘listen to the science’ – well here it is : the entire science of organic chemistry is based on the chemistry of carbon – the basis of life on earth.
