"Is that racism? Can I call out racism in this chamber right now please? Chair?" said Thorpe in one of her Senate outbursts.
Former NT Labor Senator Nova Peris.

FORMER Labor Senator and gold-medal winning hockey player and sprinter Nova Peris has stepped up to apologise on behalf of Aboriginal Australians for the deranged Victorian Senator Lidia Thorpe, who embarrassed the entire country with her protest against the royal couple King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Peris’ apology was posted online and headed “Today’s Outburst by Senator Lidia Thorpe Does Not Reflect all of Aboriginal Australia.”

CairnsNews.org notes Senator Thorpe is nothing less than a national disgrace, parading herself in front of the visiting royal couple screeching about “stolen land” and “colonialism” while wearing a possum skin coat as if it gave her some sort of indigenous credibility.

This is the same clown and product of the Victorian Green Left who attempted to attack the UK women’s rights campaigner Posie Parker before being tackled to the ground by police. Her antics in the Senate are also a disgrace and the equivalent of a child throwing tantrums.

Even worse was her undisclosed relationship with Dean Martin, ex-president of the Rebels bikie gang, while a member of the Joint Parliamentary Law-Enforcement Committee, part of whose business concerned discussion of confidential police intelligence on organised crime and bikie gangs. That alone should have got her sacked – but not our “star” indigenous woman Senator.

Thorpe has had quite a career as an Aboriginal employment adviser for the Municipal Association of Victoria, a project manager with the East Gippsland Shire Council, Indigenous manager at Centrelink, manager at Lake Tyers Aboriginal Training Centre and co-chair of the Victorian NAIDOC Committee from 2014 to 2017.

In 2013, she was declared bankrupt with over $700,000 in debts, including money owed to Indigenous Business Australia and $55,000 allegedly owed to the Australian Taxation Office. She blamed domestic violence involving her alcoholic husband for the bankruptcy. Then in an incredible comeback in 2017 Thorpe became the Victorian Greens MP for the seat of Northcote in a by-election.

There is something strange about this woman’s meteoric rise through politics. She is in stark contrast to Nova Peris, also a Senator but someone who achieved much in sport, no doubt learning self-discipline from the pain of loss but also the joy of winning Olympic (hockey) and Commonwealth Games (sprinting) gold medals.

Following is the full text of Nova Peris’ apology for Senator Thorpe:

As a former Senator and the first Aboriginal woman in the Australian Parliament, I am deeply disappointed by the actions of Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe during King Charles III’s visit to Parliament House. Her outburst, which disrupted what should have been a respectful event, was both embarrassing and disrespectful to our nation and the Royal Family.

In 2022, Senator Thorpe herself affirmed allegiance to the Crown during her swearing-in ceremony, as required by Section 42 of the Australian Constitution, stating: “I do solemnly and sincerely affirm and declare that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, her heirs and successors according to law.”

This is a reminder that, regardless of personal beliefs, respecting our nation’s constitutional framework is essential, especially as an elected representative. If Senator Thorpe was not on board with this, she should not have accepted her position and made her affirmation in the first place.   For over 2 decades I have supported the principle that Australia should one day become a republic. Indeed, as a former co-chair of the Australian Republican Movement I advocated strongly for this.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge that such decisions are for the Australian people to make through democratic means—not through rude interruptions or public outbursts. Senator Thorpe’s actions today do not reflect the manners, or approach to reconciliation, of Aboriginal Australians at large. They reflect only her, and it is important to clarify that the vast majority of us would not engage in this unconstructive confrontational way.

Australia is moving forward in its journey of reconciliation. As a nation, we are continually recognising the deep injustices faced by Aboriginal people. However, as hard as that journey is, it requires respectful dialogue, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to healing—not divisive actions that draw attention away from the progress we are making as a country.

I would like to extend my sincere apologies to King Charles III and Queen Camilla on behalf of all those who value mutual respect and the dignity of our nation. When King Charles visited Yolngu Country in 2018, he was welcomed with great respect and warmth by the traditional owners of the land, who honoured him with a traditional ceremony.

That moment exemplified the kind of engagement we need—one where respect is earned and given in equal measure.   Aboriginal Australia values these opportunities for cultural exchange and understanding. We are a proud people, deeply connected to our history, but we also recognise the importance of moving forward together as a unified nation.

Lidia Thorpe’s actions today do not reflect all of our people’s views or values. I hope King Charles and Queen Camilla will continue to visit and engage with communities across Australia, where they are welcomed with respect and dignity.

  1. Commenter Michael has spelled it out clearly, too bad so many people are blinded by their delusions, NWO here we come.

  2. One vital Q for everyone to consider (and email to her and your own local Member: If Lydia Thorpe does not REPRESENT the King, then WHO does she represent?????

  3. I re-posted this Cairns article on Facebook from which it was very quickly dispensed and I was reprimanded. I will be punished for such an abrasion to their sensitivities should I continue such despicable behaviour..!! Evidently my crime was …“looking to gain ‘likes’… and the content is not according to their standards..all I can say is that their ‘standards’ must be extremely dubious… heaven help us.. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  4. Who really organised the “discovery” of Australia?

South Wales moved to the New South Wales

    W. HUGHES, Premier of Australia, Saturday Evening Post, June 19, 1919 “The Montefiores have taken Australia for their own, and there is not a gold field or a sheep run from Tasmania to New South Wales that does not pay them a heavy tribute. They are the real owners of the antipodean continent. What is the good of our being a wealthy nation, if the wealth is all in the hands of German Jews?”

  5. Those who have ‘respect and dignity’ would rather this German aristocrat go back to Brittania or wherever the Saxe-Coburg Gotha’s are from in the Holy Roman Empire.
Devil’s advocate here to remind whoever needs reminding that this … King is the figurehead and is helping drive the globalist agenda being rolled out across the planet.
God knows the logical fallacies that contribute to a mindset that states opposition to the agenda but respect to the person(s) representing it but they would head the list.
I’m not looking forward to the day I have to eat horse flys because I made a comment against global warming theory and/or highlighted the myth of pathogenic viruses on a blog site but I won’t regret it because, even though many don’t deserve it, I have respect to my fellow man and dignity in my own being.

  6. From prince Charles to the aborigine living on the dirt, we are all equal in Gods eyes. God does not show partiality to any man. Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of God’s throne(Psalm 89:14) I like to know more what them royals done to the abo’s. I think Lydia knows, that’s why she is upset.

  7. If the “First Nations” got their treaty and became a sovereign nation would Lydia Thorpe be their first queen?

  8. Don’t you love her welcome to country ceremony done in it’s traditional sense , only things missing were her nulla nulla and her spears to back up her words .

Was she wearing a Chinese made possum coat ?

  9. Neither does Peris speak for all our native peoples, who are a disparate collection of individual clans.
I phoned Thorpe’s office and left a message that there she should check these documents:
    https://annavonreitz.com/bigbaloney.pdf
    https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2018/12/19/how-britain-stole-45-trillion-from-india/
Thorpe is out of order on a lot of things, I think, and this being so is a debatable quantity.
I was also tempted to send her this, but have not yet, this video being my work:

And I think I am bang on here-no misinformation at all here.

  10. The solution to all the hellish situation that we live in for so long has been made crystal clear almost 500 years ago.

    Hereafter an excerpt.

“ The tyrant has nothing more than the power that you confer upon him to destroy you. Where has he acquired enough eyes to spy upon you, if you do not provide them yourselves? How can he have so many arms to beat you with, if he does not borrow them from you? The feet that trample down your cities, where does he get them if they are not your own? How does he have any power over you except through you? How would he dare assail you if he had no cooperation from you?”

“Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces.”

    Discours on voluntary servitude.

Étienne de La Boétie , 1553.

  11. That is very well written. It is a credit to your journalism, and thanks for posting.

  12. The crimes of the Windsor family and the rest of their swamp dwellers far exceeds the crimes of Lydia Thorpe. They are our common threat. I wouldn’t defend them or Lydia in a heartbeat.

  13. Is there any legal way that this poor representation of an
Aboriginal woman can be kicked out of parliament…she is a gross embarrassment and disgrace?
Her lack of intelligence is shown by her actions!

  14. its a pity that the asylums were shut down, she would be a prime candidate for habitation in one of them in a straight jacket by the way, we truly are going to hell in a hand basket sports fans.

  15. No she did not swear that oath – she swore an oath to the Queen of Australia – an entity that does not exist

  16. Thorpe is a blight on both the aboriginal community and our Parliament. Her behaviour and words aimed at the King & Queen was disgraceful, disgusting and repulsive. I was personally ashamed of her outburst & as a result she deserves to be kicked out altogether. She flouts the decorum & dignity of the parliament and totally insulted the royal couple. Kick her out… !!
