A conference organised by Inflection Point NZ highlighting the threat to children and women has revealed the extent of the movement’s hold on institutions.
According to conference speaker Brian Tamaki children as young as five have been told in the country’s kindergartens they can choose their gender, and councils spend millions promoting LGBTQ+ campaigns including library readings.
Conference speakers included UK women’s rights campaigner Posie Parker (by video link) and Mia Hughes, author of the WPATH Files, that exposed information leaked from the World Professional Association of Transgender Health, revealing widespread medical malpractice on children and vulnerable adults involving so-called gender affirming surgery.
Parker was shouted down and assaulted by LGBTQ activists when she attempted to speak at an outdoor meeting in Auckland last year.
They were emboldened by official Ardern government support for transgenderism, sympathetic media and reluctant police assistance.
Rachel Stewart, New Zealand’s first female train driver and a journalist-commentator also spoke on her battle with the transgender Mafia. Stewart, who won the 2016 Opinion Writer of the Year Award, became the target of the trans movement because of a column she wrote in 2018 warning against its dangers.
The resulting campaign of harassment and pressure resulted in NZ police forcibly removing her legally owned firearms.
Another speaker battling this global cultural Marxist movement was Ro Edge from Save Women’s Sports Australasia, a coalition of people and groups seeking to preserve and protect the womens sport category that is under attack from transgender men identifying as women and cynically using their male physiques to gain advantage and prizes.
Other speakers included Jennifer Blek, who has written extensively on the gender identity movement, Bob McCoskrie, national director of NZ Family First, Jan River’s, a former researcher and policy analyst, and former National Party MP Simon O’Connor.
The Landy Sisters from Mana Wahine Korero, spoke on the attempts by critical social justice theory ideologues to appropriate Maori culture. This group is the only indigenous gender critical organisation in Australasia dedicated to the safety of women and children in Maori culture.
Tamaki and his church are credited with helping to stop a planned tour of New Zealand by a transgender couple and recently made headlines by painting over rainbow crossings painted on streets by councils in Auckland and Gisborne.
The group who painted over the Gisborne crossing were immediately swooped on by 25 cops in a city where victims of robbery and assaults have been waiting for up to six weeks for a visit by the same police. Six people were charged and all have pleaded not guilty.
New Zealand media outlets either ignored the Wellington conference and what its speakers had to say or simply reported on the demonstration outside by pro-tranny groups to save themselves from the “awkward and embarrassing” messages inside.
The Mayor of Wellington Tory Whanau came out with a sublime act of forelock tugging, saying she was “deeply concerned that the rhetoric being discussed at the event would be harmful to the queer and trans community”. She also reassured local media that the council “has a long-standing commitment to recognising diversity and inclusion in the capital”.
But no concerns were expressed by Mayor Whanau about children’s lives being threatened by puberty blocking drugs or being scarred for life by making a bad decision based on diabolical and warped gender transitioning.
Another one of her revolutionary council ilk, Nikau Wi Neera, tried to shut the event down by suggesting the use of health and safety regulations. He told The Platform it was written in the council’s community facilities plan that “venues should be safe and inclusive spaces for rainbow people.” Oh how lovely.
Also bowing to the trans Mafia was the CEO of the Te Papa Museum’s Takina Conference Centre, Courtney Johnston, who was almost persuaded to cancel the venue but backed down. She said Te Papa “supports the rights of trans people” and “all members of rainbow communities”. Oh how lovely…and brainless.
Her change of mind had apparently come after a visit by Jonathon Ayling of the Free Speech Union, who reminded the corporate crew of their duty to respect free speech and that if they chose to cancel the venue they would be looking down the barrel of a court case.
Sad to say that’s the world we live in where people in places of public trust have to be instructed in basic civics.
And then the administrators of the multi-million dollar corporate monument to culture and entertainment, the Michael Fowler Centre, bathed the building in “trans-inclusive flag” colours on Saturday night “as a show of support for the rainbow community”. Oh how heart warming.
