EOS Defense Systems USA, a subsidiary of EOS, is supplying positioning components for L3Harris VAMPIRE Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment through our EOS AS-65 gimbal, under a US Department of Defense contract to deliver 14 VAMPIRE multi-purpose weapon systems to Ukraine earlier this year.
The EOS AS-65 gimbal technology joins more than 40 EOS R400 remote weapon systems fitted to Bushmaster armoured vehicles delivered to Ukraine, as part of the Australian government’s ongoing commitment to the defence of Ukraine.
The AS-65 provides precise aiming and firing rockets, missiles, and other payloads, supporting ground-to-ground and ground-to-air delivery; when fitted to the VAMPIRE system, it is capable of tracking targets and firing a 70-millimetre guided rocket from a four-pack launcher.
EOS will perform integration and support operations for the VAMPIRE system from its US facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
In June, Canberra-based EOS officially opened a new production line for the R150 remote weapon system in response to growing international demand for lightweight systems that can be fitted to protected and utility vehicles.
The company also announced two conditional contracts with Ukraine in April, totalling up to $181 million for the supply of up to 150 RWS units and related components.
In June, EOS also announced a $51 million contract to supply remote weapon system units, spares, training and services to an unnamed Western European government.
