A recent News Ltd poll showed 74 per cent of northern residents want crocs thinned out
Katter’s Australian Party (KAP) are calling on the State Government to create a Queensland Crocodile Authority (QCA), based in Cairns to self-manage crocodile populations in the north following yet another terrible tragedy at Lakefield National Party when a local fisherman fell into a waterhole to be immediately torn apart by several crocodiles that the state Labor Party termed as ‘non-dangerous’ because they lived in a well-visited national park.
Based on previous voting performance the state Liberal Party will not support this bill. These Brisbane-centric, soft-left politicians have never supported thinning out the tens of thousands of salt water crocodiles infesting suburban waterways from Bundaberg to the Far North. The LNP will assume power at the next state election not due to their public support or ability but because the dreaded two party system will install them on around 40 per cent of the state vote.

Every crocodile is a potential man eater and to think some are less dangerous than others is a typical Labor/Liberal/Green urban myth.
Speaking from Cairns today, State Member for Hill Shane Knuth said the party has been long-term advocates for significant changes to the management plan to tackle the exploding crocodile population in North Queensland.
“As we already know, North Queenslanders simply cannot trust governing from Brisbane on issues that need to be fixed locally,” Mr Knuth said.
“I don’t hear of too many crocodiles in the Brisbane River or on the Sunshine or Gold Coast, so it makes sense for the QCA would be established in Cairns to self-manage the issue and proactively pursue programs to keep numbers in control and reduce the risk of attacks.
“Even a State Government commissioned independent panel recommended, over nine months ago, the ‘annual removal of a number of 2.4m-plus crocodiles in Queensland’s populated east cost for several years, in addition to problem crocodile removal,’ however nothing has been done.
“I will be tabling the KAP’s Crocodile Control and Conservation Bill 2023, this year into parliament. The Bill aims to locally manage crocodile populations in Queensland while continuing to preserve and protect crocodiles in the wild.”
Mr Knuth said the Bill will establish the Queensland Crocodile Authority, which will administer all programs related to crocodile management, with an advisory committee established to represent indigenous communities, tourism businesses and other related stakeholders.
He added the crocodile population is exploding in North Queensland with constant reports of crocodiles on popular beaches, inland waterways and around boat ramps.
“We acknowledge we are never going to completely eliminate the threat, but we can reduce the threat through annual, controlled, concentrated removal programs to limit the frequency of crocodile attacks in well populated areas, making it safer for people to use our waterways and beaches,” Mr Knuth said.
“North Queenslanders just want management that gives us back our popular beaches and waterways and that always seems to exclude any program on controlling crocodile numbers.”
KAP State Leader and Member for Traeger Robbie Katter firmly believed Queensland’s crocodile populations should be controlled and, in some instances, culled, similarly to how kangaroos, wild dogs, cats and horses are managed.
“The fact that you can cull dogs, cats, horses, pigs and kangaroos but not man-eating crocodiles is the height of environmental madness,” Mr Katter said.
“The answer to this is simple, we need to control the numbers; we don’t advocate going overboard but thinning them out will absolutely make a difference.
“We have to make a decision in this State as to what value we actually place on human lives, and have that value dictate exactly how we are prepared to the manage inevitably dangerous consequences of human and saltwater crocodile populations living alongside each other.”
Hinchinbrook MP and KAP Deputy Leader, Nick Dametto said recently the KAP had warned the government its inaction on reducing crocodile numbers in populated areas would lead to more attacks and fatalities, which has very sadly come true.
“We are calling on the Government to adopt this Bill and not make the same mistake we have seen regarding youth crime, where the warning signs were evident for everyone to see but the Government still found cause to ignore,” Mr Dametto said.
“Through this Bill, we are calling for proactive management of crocodile populations while still maintaining conservation of crocodiles in the wild.
“North Queensland problems should be solved and managed in North Queensland, not by bureaucrats and governments in Brisbane who wouldn’t even know the difference between a saltie and a freshwater crocodile.
“The Bill has a large emphasis on self-management and local decision making, through the establishment of the Queensland Crocodile Authority based in Cairns.
“I would say if you asked any North Queenslander if that makes sense you would be hard pressed finding anyone who would disagree.”
I am confident that the LNP will not be OK with a cull of crocodiles which unchecked numbers are pushing into the human habitation and range. They will not be OK with the town of Mareeba pushing back against Black Entitlement to crime. And they will not be OK with any pushback against Drag Queens in the schools.
The tethered goat is the politically correct posture for covid minions.

It seems that the labourites have no concerns about the human population else they would not have pushed the clot shots for all except themselves. So asking them to do the right thing and control the crocks will likely fall on their deaf ears too.

Yes. Absolutely, the rights of Apex predators must have precedence in the competition with humans for range. The solution here would be to cull the human population and then the appropriately reduced population must be confined to their restricted zones by many zones.
But Wait! That Plan is already going ahead.
Exchanges with the Apex will still be OK – if they conform to the Wally model. Since these animals come into suburbs and homes I think there will be many opportunities to have these types of exchanges.

As with other apex predators, crocodiles are nature’s ‘mindfulness gurus,’ – they are there to teach one to be in tune with one’s senses.
Of all the people in the world, only white people think it’s a great idea to set up their playgrounds in areas frequented by apex predators.
It would be a very revealing study to see which race dominates the death statistics for beach and riverine crocodile and shark attacks? – I would guess, that the white folks would be the clear winner?
Culling crocodiles is a simply another extension of the ‘Nanny State.’

The Katters can barely string a sentence together, let alone two, so thinking straight just ain’t on the agenda.
I will try to keep this appropriately simple…
The reason there are more or less croc attacks has nothing whatsoever to do with numbers of crocodiles. It has everything to do with the following:
(1) The increase in the number of people sharing that northern environment;
(2) The increase in southerners moving to north Queensland;
(3) The increase in tourism;
(4) The serious decline in general intelligence and commonsense in post-seventies generations;
(5) The growing trend for individuals to present themselves as experts on the bush, despite their dearth of genuine experience;
(6) The also-growing trend towards alcoholism and alcohol abuse, especially in rural regions;
(7) The failure of ‘experts’ to thoroughly research croc attack behaviour, especially the noises they make at mating times, feeding times, and when they are otherwise territorial. Evidence shows that recording devices could be placed in the water to sound an alarm when attack noises are being made.
The statement that all crocs are equally dangerous has been made by somebody who knows zilch about crocs. Big surprise? I don’t think so.
STORY TIME BOYS AND GIRLS
I, plus 9 of my safari participants, watched a dog swim out onto the river, meeting nose-to-nose with a large croc in Cahills Crossing. There was a ten-second face-off before the dog turned around and swam back to its dopey owner, message received. The croc returned to his usual spot 300 metres upstream, from whence he came. This is reputed to be the densest patch of crocodiles in Australia. The croc did not happen to be hungry, that’s all, but he disapproved of swimming in his stretch of river. Hence the tsk tsk behaviour.
Meanwhile, can somebody get a big sheet of paper and crayons, and attempt to explain to the Katters that pigs, horses, dogs, and horses are feral animals that are culled because of the serious damage they do to Australia’s environment, including becoming competition with wildlife. Kangaroos get culled because farmers cleared too much land, converting to pasture, which caused an explosion in kangaroo numbers BEYOND NATURAL CARRYING CAPACITY.
Every farmer knows this, so how come the ‘cattlemen’ Katters do not? Because they are phonies who pose at being men of the land when they are just city slickers like the southerners they milk.

As their numbers burgeon, the saurians extend their range. They quite like the suburbs and swimming pools, golf courses and parks.
It is Communist BS that human beings must restrict our range (smart cities will be the way to go) and not operate as a check upon these Apex predators in any way.

Phil said – “Slightly off topic.”
A very heartwarming story.
It illustrates the FACT that crocodiles are WAY smarter and more socially cognitive than conventional tenets permit.
It’s perhaps just a little bit ironic that Momma Crocodile takes much better care of her babies than the human population of Australia.
In the wild, of course, a crocodile’s gotta eat – and they don’t know any better than their circumstances have taught them.
Which is just one more reason to watch your ass – besides being formidable killing machines, crocodiles are FAR SMARTER AND MORE CUNNING than the average urban stooge might like to think.

The QLD LNP will go with the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
New political organisations, however, will listen to Queenslanders who boat, camp, fish and hunt. There is no reason why we should not hunt Australia’s Apex predator within limits set by conservation. Crocodiles are in no way endangered, anymore than alligators are endangered.
As their numbers grow, they assert their range..And we should assert ours.

Hunting crocodiles with a spear was dangerous at the best of times, and only small ones under 1.5 M were speared; because pulling the croc into the bank would be too difficult, if not impossible. Moreover, the prongs on the spear were made of the hardest wood available, Mayping (ironwood), which grows across the north. But these prongs were hard enough only to spear small crocs without breaking, repair of which was a full day’s work in which no food can be hunted. Obviously, just as today in Arnhem Land, spearing a croc is a rare event, even with steel prongs. Fish are just so much easier.
Meanwhile, bush and wildlife are being destroyed in the mistaken belief of academics that Indigenous practices are being emulated, but these reflect the theories of city-bred academics who have no credible access to historic reality.
Such innocent speculations, such as Rhys Jones’s 1969 book Firestick Farming, has caused monumental damage in the north and I strongly recommend that people desist from such speculation launched from the standpoint of abysmal ignorance.

Maybe the indigenous people, by virtue of their existence before ignorant white man put in an appearance, have an existing inalienable right to continue their life style, (should they choose to), and therefore have an unchallengeable right to cul crocs, if they want to.
Therefore employ native aboriginals to exercise that right, and to hell with the pretender government.

Here we go again.
Instead of educating people to act intelligently and with prerequisite knowledge, we make laws to protect the stupid and the ignorant.
This is exactly how repression begins.
It is illegal to engage in adrenalin sports, and now a new generation is gutless and stupid. Three generations now lack the courage to save their children or themselves.
It is illegal to hate somebody, so now we have trannies and poofters demanding they have the right to groom our children.
It is illegal to protect our bodies, and now we have a global democide inflicted by the Medical Mafia.
Self-defence is illegal, and now we get bashed and robbed as a daily occurrence.
Stupid and ignorant people swim with crocodiles and stand on the edge of their feeding zone, and so we cull them in the belief that they will stop eating food put on their plate.
This is why Queensland has the most repressive and useless government in Australia. Stupid is as stupid does. Only a stupid government makes stupid laws. As ye sow, so too shall ye reap. Some people never learn, which in itself proves stupidity.

Didn’t the indigenous peoples hunt and use crocodiles historically? In what numbers? Perhaps that pattern of use needs to be replicated to restore the original balance that existed before restrictions on hunting or fall-off in popularity of hunting?
