THE ABC, citing the newspapers owned by the corporate kings at Nine Entertainment, says Today show host Karl Stefanovic “is expected to leave Channel Nine” after a podcast interview “with British far-right figure Tommy Robinson”.
“The Sydney Morning Herald reports Nine was negotiating terms for Stefanovic to leave the network after “crisis meetings” at Nine’s Sydney headquarters on Wednesday,” the ABC reported.
It’s almost laughable. Stefanovic interviewing the man who recently led hundreds of thousands of Britons out into the streets of London and who has one of the most incredible stories of any modern-day political activist, is now being cancelled by his long-time employer.
Stefanovic’s interview (above), was posted on YouTube by Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain channel and by Wednesday this week had gained 277,000 views. Robinson’s populist counter-revolution has now become unstoppable and the corporate media kingpins still don’t get it. Or do they.
“Tommy Robinson has a lesson for Australians,” Hanson posted. “If we don’t learn from the UK’s mistakes on immigration and radical Islam, we are going to face the same destruction. This is exactly what Karl was trying to bring to Australia’s attention.”
Earlier on Wednesday night, Nine bosses told Comrade Ferguson at the ABC’s 7.30 Report that they would not announce anything that evening about Stefanovic’s future.
The ABC went on: “Robinson is one of the most divisive anti-immigration voices in the United Kingdom, and he co-founded the far-right English Defence League movement.
“In a promotional video for the podcast, Stefanovic and Robinson are shown with their arms around each other as they discuss the resignation of UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.”
And here’s the apparent kicker: Robinson says to Karl: “Can I ask you a question? Keir Starmer is a … wanker,” Stefanovic finishes, which cracks up both, as Robinson went on to describe how football crowds had turned “Starmer is a wanker” it into a chant.
That, apparently, was just too much for Nine Entertainment’s corporate kingpins. The inevitable end had come to Stefanovic’s Today contract (we believe worth millions) and both sides were lawyering up.
Stefanovic’s interview tells the Robinson story better than most and apart from the Starmer bit, the media big shots were probably also upset about Robinson telling how he stitched up the BBC’s Panorama team who were doing a hit job on him a few years ago.
Robinson has in effect defeated the thoroughly “Fabianised” UK politbureau and is leading the global populist counter-revolution. He paid tribute to Pauline Hanson’s tenacity in the face of establishment persecution.
