There’s a lie being repeated in Spring Street. And I’m sick of hearing it.
Politicians keep saying the Government “inherited” these powers over farmers. That it’s just the way things are. That nobody’s to blame.
That’s a lie.
One Minister — Lily D’Ambrosio — went to Parliament and demanded new laws that let her force her way onto your farm and take your land.
She didn’t inherit a damn thing. She built this machine with the help of her Labor colleagues.
Energy and Resources Minister Lily D’Ambrosio 12 months ago passed the National Electricity, Victoria, Amendment, Stage Two VicGrid, Bill, in what she said would ‘further strengthen VicGrid as the body responsible for the planning and development of Renewable Energy Zones and transmission infrastructure in Victoria’.
The new legislation will enable authorities to fine people up to $1200 if they try to hinder work, including removing work permit signs, barring access to farmland and refusing to identify themselves to authorised officers.
The legislation includes a provision ‘that enables authorised officers, accompanied by officers of electricity corporations, to enter private land without owner or occupier consent’.
Forced access laws — so her contractors can walk onto your farms uninvited, any time they want, and there is nothing you can legally do to stop them.
Compulsory acquisition powers — so when you say no, she doesn’t have to listen. She just takes it.
Minister D’Ambrosio, sitting in Melbourne, gave herself the legal power to override every farmer in Victoria.
Your property.
Your livelihood.
Your family’s future.

This wasn’t an accident. This was HER PLAN!
She drafted the laws, she pushed them through Parliament – all so she can devastate Australian farmers with impunity.
That’s not policy. It’s an act of war against Aussie farmers.
Farming families across the state are being pressured, threatened, and bullied into giving up their land for a project that has blown out by billions of dollars and still sucks.
She doesn’t care, she never cared. SHE HAS TO GO!

The legislation is what is known as private law, as per UNIDROIT, which Gough Whitlam snuck in years ago.
