Chaotic scenes erupted across Midtown Manhattan on Saturday night as thousands of basketball fans poured into the streets to celebrate the New York Knicks’ historic NBA Finals victory, resulting in a World Cup bus being set alight and a teenager suffering a gunshot wound.
As celebrations continued into the early hours, hundreds of predominantly young people swarmed a convoy of approximately 15 shuttle buses in Times Square. These vehicles had been transporting football fans from the first World Cup game in the New York City area, a match between Brazil and Morocco which ended in a draw.
Some climbed onto the roofs of the buses, entered them, and even sat in the driving seats. One yellow school bus, specifically hired by the city government to help transport football fans, was set ablaze, according to a Reuters video journalist who witnessed it in flames. It remains unclear if anyone was injured in this particular incident, though at least three other shuttle buses sustained significant damage from the crowds.
Jubilant supporters spilled out of packed bars and outdoor venues, setting off fireworks and firing smoke grenades, chanting “Knicks in five!” to mark their team’s triumph in the fifth game of a possible seven. This win holds particular significance for the New York Knicks, who had not secured a title since 1973. This was only their third appearance in the finals, having previously lost in 1994 to the Houston Rockets and in 1999, before defeating the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.
Amidst the widespread revelry, a 17-year-old was shot in the foot in Times Square around 2 am, a New York police officer confirmed to Reuters. Three individuals have since been taken into custody as persons of interest in connection with the incident.

I don’t understand why sports fans have to rampage after their team wins their competitions ;Why can’t they just go to a pub and drink until they get drunk singing their club song until they run out of booze and then stagger home joyfully ,feeling dreadful for the 3 days afterwards .
This garbage that msm dishes up as news has been going on for years. I remember many years ago when vandals in Britain were up to the same thing. Damaging public and private property “because of excitement”. Our team won a sports match, (so what) giving us the right to act stupidly. Many of those engaged in such behaviour have never actually participated in a sport of any type. They are just waiting for an excuse to act as animals.
These acts of terrorism are written up as glorification that should be copied world wide, natural reactions of excitement.

It has long been said that this sort of sports hooliganism is tribalism, a phenomenon studied in depth for many decades, and evidenced by mad soccer fans letting off their dangerous and idiotic flares and perpetrating sometimes extreme violence, all in the name of a football club, whilst their only participation is to watch the game, not play it.
In the present day, this idolatry has found its way even to the music festivals we see to many of, these festivals being, in actual fact, really drug festivals, where the fans idolise performers whose only abilities are the ability to wrote a song or play an instrument, but likely not much else, especially in the way of political acuity whatsoever, resulting in a generation that believes in them because they have nothing else worth believing, and especially from the political class.
