Pauline Hanson has betrayed the freedom network yet again by running a candidate at the Hinchinbrook by-election, giving the Liberal candidate third preference ahead of Katters Australian Party which ironically, gave the ON candidate its second preference
This is the second time One Nation has let down the vast freedom community by preferencing the Liberals over aligned independents such as KAP which ON did in the state seat of Mirani handing it over to the Liberals at the election last year.
One Nation until now had refused to disclose its Hinchinbrook preference allocation despite Cairns News asking the party twice whom it would choose.
Leader of People First Gerard Rennick has spotted a crooked deal too posting these comments:
A week ago a LNP source told Cairns News the party had asked One Nation to preference LNP in front of KAP.
Should One Nation hold or increase its claimed 18 per cent polling position Australia-wide, it could help the Liberals regain government.
Furthermore Hanson’s Chief of Staff James Ashby, a Liberal at heart, racked up more than $3.6 million in legal fees in the Federal Court when fighting former Speaker of the House Peter Slipper in 2012 over sexual harassment allegations.

Two attempts in court to have the Commonwealth cover Ashby’s legal fees failed and he was left to pay the bill himself.
Cairns News has asked Harmers lawyers if the bill has been paid and who paid it.
Cairns News also sent a question to billionaire mining magnate Gina Rinehart, a significant Liberal Party donor, asking if she had paid Ashby’s legal bill. A condition of such a deal could be for her close confidante Pauline Hanson to preference the Liberals all the way to the next federal election.
On critical examination $2.6 million would be beyond Ashby, Pauline Hanson or her party’s ability to pay.
There is no doubt Rinehart could afford it.
Ashby is an integral part of the One Nation apparatus and is a close colleague of Pauline Hanson.
Meanwhile Ingham-born Liberal Premier David Crisafulli has taken a close interest in the Hinchinbrook by-election which some say he helped create by enticing former KAP member Nick Dametto to run for the mayoral position in Townsville which he won convincingly.
Crisafulli is the Liberal member for Broadwater on the Gold Coast, which he won in 2017.
Typically the LNP has run a dirty campaign depicting KAP candidate Mark Molachino as a former member of the Labor Party. What the LNP cunningly omitted from their deceptive media campaign was Molachino’s refusal to join their Brisbane-centric party when asked by party officials to run in Hinchinbrook.
Few people were surprised by the dirty dealing of the LNP which stands out at every state and federal election.
One LNP Facebook account had a photo of Molachino wearing a Labor shirt but it spectacularly backfired with 95 per cent of the comments against the LNP.
Saturday will determine the next member for Hinchinbrook but Cairns News election expert Lex Stewart warns that there will be a proportion of voting fraud as there is at every election.
Bogus voters will cast their vote crossing off fictitious names at real addresses on the roll. How many phantom voters the ALP and LNP have managed to muster for this by-election is not yet known.
Ultimately it seems the voters of Hinchinbrook will manage their own preferences and not doggedly follow One Nation’s how to vote card.

They are all getting a bit old in the tooth now.
Why can’t they retire and mentor younger hopefuls?
The young are inheriting the world we have created.
Perhaps they could do a better job before someone gets to them and they fold and continue the narrative.
What I’ve yet to see given any mention is that Pauline is 71
And Bob is 80 !
From my 75 year-old perspective their failure to acknowledge the wisdom of traditional retirement boundaries is a significant issue that’s synonymous with a lack of understanding re the bigger spiritual picture
And without such understanding it’s always going to be impossible to make any real headway for the better
Dirty deeds and they’re done dirt cheap.
The stunt backfired on Pauline. You don’t let people see your legs when you wear the burkas
Every time she gets head, she sabotages herself. Every time.
No one has asked why she did it and who put her up to it. Surely the answer is clear –

It soothes every conscience.
Politics is politics is politics. A State or federal politician has four priorities, in this order:
1. Self
2. Party
3. Mates/corporate (large) donors
4. Taxpaying public.
Number 4 is generally disregarded except at election time or for funding travel and legal bills.
Plotting, corruption and perfidy are par for the course. The Hinchinbrook by-election is just another all too common example.
The doors of parliament should have a sign above them, which reads: “Abandon honesty, transparency and integrity all ye who enter herein”. If improving the country was the aim of politics, then our governments have been abysmal failures. They continue to do so.

Why so surprised?
Hanson was a member of the Liberal Party and won a seat in the Parliament with her name on the ballot paper as a Liberal Party member.
It’s good to see she put the Greens last and Labor second last.
Maybe opportunist Molachino was placed third last, because before joining Katter for this by-election he was a member of the Labor Party.
Interestingly he was deputy mayor for Townsville until losing his spot at the 2024 council election.
Merry-go-round?
Nick Dametto caused the by-election by resigning from his State Gov. seat and Katter’s party to contest the recent 2025 Townsville council by-election for mayor, which he won.
Clare deserted Hanson’s party to become an independent candidate, so must be seen as a lesser evil, but more evil than the Liberal National Country party candidate.
That leaves Family First Party in a good spot: That could be a blessing in disguise for Queenslanders with people tiring of the same old, same old Hanson, looking for new direction.

There’s a video floating on various socials about her COS James Ashby busted for scheming how to rip off taxpayers setting up candidates/
They’re controlled opposition and have been “set up” since the election to somehow be Australia’s saviour, a reason she is being promoted by Murdoch media and their handlers from the little hat tribe.
Parties do what parties do.
Instead of getting upset, why don’t you tell people it doesn’t matter one bit what each party recommends in their printed material, it is up to the VOTER to make a careful (and hopefully EDUCATED!!!) choice as to which Candidates they want to vote for.

Why isn’t it a legal requirement for the AEC to show their little video on TV (during prime time on ABC) and other media outlets on exactly how preferential voting works for 3+ weeks BEFORE an election?

One Nation has disappointed previously also. Do not overlook how Malcolm Roberts’. grilling of Gary Johns in the senate estimates hearings revealed the criminal underside of RSPCA dealings – only to have the whole subject area disappear once more beneath the waves, even as did Wes Fang’s equally devastating revelations about the fate of the Alpine Brumbies and Steve Coleman’s willingness to lie to a parliamentary enquiry in the Macquarie Room of the NSW parliament.
There is no such thing as a “Freedom Network”. It is a very dubious term, as is ‘Christian’, which can mean almost anything. Some of the so-called Christian Freedom Fighters proved themselves to be less than honest. I think many of them are Roman Catholics, who in the Pope’s service, will tear down anything that looks like real independence – which at this point is only One Nation. I’ve watched Pauline Hanson since her maiden speech, three decades ago, and find her integrity puts most ‘Christian’ politicians well behind scratch. Talk is cheap.
