The Labor Party has emerged as the biggest beneficiary of cash and gifts received from external entities ahead of the upcoming federal election.
The Australian Electoral Commission published its transparency register on Monday, exposing the wealthy donors and political parties benefitting the most from donations.
Labor racked up $67.5 million in receipts – which include donations, member subscriptions and other proceeds – compared to $63.4 million for the Liberal Party.
The Greens accrued $9.2 million while The Nationals summed $8.8 million. Pauline Hanson’s One Nation posted $2.0 million.
