Toyota’s Game-Changing Innovation: Ammonia engines set to transform the EV landscape
While the Labor, Greens and Teals devise cunning policies to remove essential diesel powered, four wheel drive utes and cars from the roads, Toyota has taken one step ahead of the climate nutters by developing a powerful motor which releases no CO2 (unfortunately for the environment) and runs on ammonia.
From Toyota
Dive into the forefront of automotive innovation with Toyota’s latest breakthrough: ammonia engines. As a pioneer in reliable, efficient, and forward-thinking features, Toyota has once again pushed the boundaries of possibility in the vehicle industry.
With a rich history of revolutionary developments, Toyota’s exploration into alternative methods of powering vehicles marks a significant leap forward. Ammonia engines represent a seismic shift in sustainable transportation.
By harnessing the power of ammonia, a compound devoid of carbon atoms, Toyota has unlocked a potential solution to one of the most pressing issues of our time: pollution. Unlike conventional oil or gas fuels, ammonia emits no carbon dioxide when burned, making it a promising avenue for curbing emissions and mitigating environmental impact. But the implications extend far beyond mere environmental stewardship.
Toyota’s pioneering work in ammonia engine technology could very well redefine the future of EVs. By offering a clean and efficient alternative to traditional electric vehicles, ammonia engines have the potential to revolutionize the way people perceive and adopt EVs.
Join us as we delve deeper into this groundbreaking development. What does Toyota’s innovation mean for the EV industry as a whole? How will ammonia engines impact the automotive landscape? Discover the answers to these questions and more as we explore the transformative potential of Toyota’s game-changing breakthrough.

Commenter duck,
You’re right about hydrogen corrosion, it’s a disaster in steel, they only like it because the exhaust is steam or water, probably too expensive.
Sounds like Twiggy wants to become a pipemaker, that is a lot of pipe, he needs a customer for his solar powered North West steel mill and maybe he just loves tubes. What’s he going to want to pipe next, rain from Brisbane into the Darling River I suppose, and from Ord River down to Perth. You know there was a famous engineer in Perth who did the pipe to Kalgoorlie, CY O’Connor, also did Fremantle harbour, probably a formative influence on the young Twiggy.
If deadly ammonia can be used to fuel combustion engines to achieve elites’ 2050 and beyonder vehicle emission targets, can it be used to fuel the production of electricity to allow plebs the comforts of their electrified consumer world?
Hi Joe
The industry is sorting it out, well Twiggy and friends.
Industry needs the pollies in heir hip pockets to bleed mega tax dollars for their proposed privately driven private public partnership profits.
Meanwhile in the east, false advertising from Canberra infers when wind and solar are unavailable, gas will keep the lights turned on.
An about face on reality for unsuspecting, uneducated plebs; as redundant coal fired power stations are replaced by new gas fired power stations, to keep the lights turned on, and they in turn allow wind and solar inverters to synchronise with them to supply daily variable load conditions on the electricity supply grid, whenever wind and sun is available.
According to MSM there’s a shortage of gas on the eastern sea board to supply demand, but that will be corrected.
And so Twiggy and friends plans to pipe gas from the north west, down the east coast to supply the plebs needs has been put in motion.
Tax dollars will produce profits for private investors managed by fiduciaries on the supply and demand of gas and electricity.
Hydrogen powered, electrical power plants are presently only -60 % efficient.
I suppose as the corrosion and safety issues of hydrogen storage and transport are solved, small scale stand alone, off grid, wind and solar power supplied hydrogen power plants will make an appearance.
Twiggy to the rescue1 Ed
Will look at it Terry. Ed
I want to see an article on how they intend to make all this ammonia to replace ‘fossil fuels’.
In Western Australia they are hot for magical hydrogen power and the governments state and local want to throw money at this venture. Just let the industry sort it out and the politicians can disappear up their own fundaments. Scariest words in the world: “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”.
Climate nuttery, Net Zero, Sustainability – all of this will become the religion of the New World Order and its soviet. The United [Communist] Nations is putting 17SDG as the organising principle or logos of the NWO .
Ammonia = NH3 and
Air Intake = 78% N and 21% O
My opinion:
Not a lot different to petrol/diesel engines, still an internal combustion engine that consumes oxygen from our environment to burn the hydrogen
and still dumps around 60% of the combustion energy as anthropogenic waste heat into our environment
(learn about the Carnot Cycle for heat engines).
Will need a lot of high tech maintenance to keep control over the intake nitrogen and the separated nitrogen in the very hot exhaust gases (that will also contain very hot H2O gases) to avoid discharging corrosive materials into our environment, including NOx materials like nitrous oxide NO, nitric oxide N2O, nitrous acid HNO2 and nitric acid HNO3…
It’s not about clean energy, it’s about total control via the grid and allowing only certain individuals cars.
