No problem. They can’t shut down websites that are hosted overseas. Even if they block a website they cannot stop people using a VPN to connect to websites they want to read. And that is where my cirnow.com.au website could be very useful. It is hosted overseas and the government would have to initiate a case in that country’s foreign court to beg them to shut it down. So, anyone who manages a website overseas could potentially become a social media platform by making comments to articles available, just as the Cairns News does here.
We, the People of the Commonwealth of Australia are just like those Whack-a-moles…. even if the government manages to shut one of us down, a dozen more will spring up to take its place.
