Germany is appalled by a crime that defies description in brutality. The victim is in hospital and in danger of dying.
The incident took place Sunday evening in Hameln in Lower Saxony.
The offender is 36 years old, his victim is 28 years. According to German Bild, both come from large Turkish-Kurdish families living in Germany.
They have previously lived together. The couple were married under Islamic law and had a child together.
Police do not yet know the motive for the man’s bestial act. But there is information about how the horrific crime occurred.
Early Sunday evening, the man tied a rope around the neck of his ex-girlfriend and Islamic spouse. Then he tied the rope to the trailer hitch of his car. He then got into the car and drove off through the city, with the woman scraping along the asphalt behind the car.
He drove about 250 meters with the increasingly bloody woman. Residents in the area have told that along the way he increased the car’s speed considerably.
The woman had certainly suffered a horrible death if it was not for the rope at one point breaking free from the car. It is not known if the rope broke or whether the knot that tied it to the trailer hitch loosened.
Witnesses found the abused woman in an unconscious state beside the road, and a rescue helicopter took her to a specialist clinic as she was extremely injured.
At the same time the man reported himself to the police at a police station nearby and was arrested. He has so far been silent about his motive.
Police have launched special safeguard measures for fear of reprisals from the woman’s family.
The local newspaper Deister- und Weser Zeitung reports that the woman, beyond the terrible injuries from being dragged, also had stab wounds.
Because of the investigation, the police did not want to comment on this information. But they deny rumors on social media that there there have been an exchange of gunfire.
A spokesman for the city of Hameln, Thomas Wahmes, said Monday: “It’s unbelievable, with the brutality and disregard for human life in which this action has taken place. Here all are in shock.”
This is not happening far away. It is happening in the heart of Europe.
In the midst of a peaceful German town, a completely different world opens up – with such violence and oppression of women which they were not prepared for, and with the prospect of it all turning even worse.

Here in the states we have many people who totally disregard the facts about Muslims in the name of political correctness, and anyone who disagrees with them is a bigot, racist or xenophobe.
If we persist in our ignorance we are only prolonging the suffering. This ‘religion’ probably survived since the 7th century only because those who dared leave it were subject to being killed.
