PALESTINIAN pastor and theologian Munther Isaac and Palestinian theologian Dr. Tony Deik have responded to the recent interview by Tucker Carlson of the US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.
Many American and western Christians are unaware that there have been Christians living in Palestinian locations like Bethlehem since the days of Jesus Christ, Many are also simply unaware that some Christians that do not support their belief that Christians are obliged to support Zionism and the modern state of Israel.
Tucker Carlson incurred the wrath of Israelis, US evangelicals and even President Trump when he recently visited the Middle East and interviewed resident Christians of Israel and Palestine. These Christians and other Palestinians are frequently harrassed and physically attacked by Israeli settlers with the armed backing on the IDF.
But American and western Christian tourists who visit Israel are courted by Israeli authorities and organisations like the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem as potential “ambassadors” for the Zionist state.
Meanwhile Palestinian Christians have been completely ignored by these save evangelicals who put on rose-coloured glasses and declare Zionist Israelis to be “God’s chosen people”.
These same “chosen ones”, and settlers in particular, have attacked Palestinian Christians and Moslems, stealing their land and homes and generally doing everytiing to make their lives unbearable.
