While the media drones on about the unpopularity of the president’s operation in Iran, Americans’ opinions, with all due respect, don’t really matter. In eight months, voters will have the chance to grade the Trump administration’s decision to level the Islamist regime that’s terrorized the West for decades. But until then, the only thing that anyone should care about, apart from the safety of U.S. troops, is the United States and its allies getting as close to eliminating one of the world’s greatest existential threats as humanely possible.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t confusion about next steps. In one soundbite, President Trump says the war is almost over, and in the next, he allows for the possibility of ground troops. One thing he could certainly stand to improve is his messaging. And yet, as contradictory as his statements may be, the why of the administration’s action should never be in question. As Thérèse Shaheen is quick to point out in National Review, “In the case of Iran, the threat is not speculative. Iran’s intent, capabilities, and behavior have had demonstrably dangerous results for America and Americans.” If the president had intelligence that a “catastrophic conflict” was likely, then acting now, she argues, “may prevent greater destruction later.”
We may never know what classified information went into Trump’s decision-making or timeline, but the reality is this: the majority of people in this country elected him to act in the best interest of America. Like it or not, voters chose him to use his own judgment when it came to confronting the bullies of this world. And they supported him, recognizing that this was a possibility. As Trump himself bragged this week, “No other president had the guts to do it.”
And the reality is, even after months of diplomatic attempts, Iran’s leaders were never interested in peace. “[They’ve] been notorious for using negotiations to drag out talks to continue enriching uranium — while never agreeing to anything,” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on “This Week on Capitol Hill.” “They were never going to agree to stop working towards a nuclear weapons program. And so, President Trump finally said, ‘If they will kill tens of thousands of their own people, they will not hesitate to kill Americans if they get a nuclear bomb, and once they get that bomb, it’s too late to negotiate with them, because then you lose that leverage.’ This was the time to strike.”
As a planet, the hope now must be that the alliance of America, Israel, and other Arab nations finishes the job. And based on the reports from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and other top officials, the U.S. will not accept anything but the complete dismantling of Iran’s military and nuclear power. Deep into its second week, Hegseth told the media that Tuesday “will be yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran,” which is a bold statement considering the 5,000 targets already hit.
Meanwhile, the decimated government, including new Supreme Leader Mojitaba Khamenei, is struggling to respond. According to the secretary, “The mullahs are desperate and scrambling. Like the terrorist cowards they are, they fire missiles from schools and hospitals, deliberately targeting innocents, because they know their military is being systematically degraded and annihilated.” Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine explained that Iran is “fighting, and I respect that. But I don’t think they’re more formidable than what we thought.” Even now, the conflict is dramatically one-sided. “We’ve made significant progress in reducing the number of missile and drone attacks out of Iran,” Caine acknowledged. “Ballistic missile attacks continue to trend downward, 90% from where they’ve started, and one-way attack drones have decreased 83%, since the beginning of the operation.”
Incredibly, Iran’s targets continue to be other neighbors, which most experts believe only helps the U.S. “The talking points you heard going into this [were], ‘If we ever did what needed to be done with Iran, the whole Middle East would be in an uproar against us,” Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas) pointed out on “Washington Watch” Monday. “[And] what we’ve seen is the opposite, where we see other nations, maybe not to the extent we’d like, but they’re certainly not joining in the fight with Iran. They’re saying, ‘These guys have been a menace to our region. We want peace for our kids. We want peace for our family. We want peace for our region. And what that means is taking out the capability of Iran to do evil things in their region and around the world.’”
From a strategic standpoint, broadening their response is foolish, most agree. “Iran has done Trump a favor by attacking all its Arab neighbors,” Elliott Abrams argues, “which makes those neighbors U.S. and Israeli allies. The U.S. does not now need to cajole them into assisting our forces this week and helping to stop Iranian missiles and drones aimed at Israel; we are all on the same side against Iran. We can assume that after the war, there will be new U.S. diplomatic efforts to bring Israel and the Arabs closer by expanding the Abraham Accords.”
While his crippled country tries to retaliate, the younger Khamenei remains in hiding — his dwindling lieutenants still talking tough. Almost comically, Iran’s National Security Council secretary insisted Iran isn’t losing the war before threatening Trump, “Even those greater than you have failed to eliminate the Iranian nation. Be careful not to be eliminated yourself!”
The choice of the late ayatollah’s son was a defiant shot across the bow, most believe. “He’s a chip off the old block,” Dr. David Adesnik shook his head on Monday’s “Washington Watch,” “and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. … He’s not necessarily a distinguished religious thinker,” the vice president at the Foundation for Defense of the Democracies warned. “He’s someone who’s made his way by being put in positions of power by his father and managing them relatively well, at least from his father’s perspective. I think you would count him among the hardest of the hardliners in the regime. His choice is an indication that other hardliners in the Revolutionary Guard and outside the Revolutionary Guard are continuing to steer this war in a direction of further confrontation, not one of any compromise.”
He added, “If President Trump wanted there to be a [moderate] who might be interested in a resolution, this is not his man.”
It all raises the question: where is this headed, and what does victory even look like? Adesnik isn’t sure. “I regret to say I have a fair amount of uncertainty. … I think we’ve been hoping to some extent the Iranian people would come out, renew their protests, and overthrow the regime, but of course, that would mean doing it while there’s fighting going on. And it’s not entirely clear. How long will we persist? Would we cut a deal that perhaps ended the war and left Mojtaba Khamenei, the new leader, in power? Or are we really going all the way to the end?”
Trump defined success as an Iran that’s incapable and unwilling to develop nuclear weapons, but he also had strong advice for the country’s oppressed people. “When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be, probably, your only chance for generations.”
Either way, this administration and its allies are changing the course of history. “Even if the regime hangs on,” Abrams suggests, “its pretense to be the dominant regional power — with a huge ballistic missile array and a nuclear weapons program — will have been shattered. While we cannot predict the date of its collapse,” he goes on, “whether that takes weeks, months, or years, that collapse has been brought closer. The credit belongs to Donald Trump, who has made a bold and risky decision that deserves firm support.”

The last time the US and Israel attacked Iran in July, the Israelis begged Iran for a ceasefire after just 12 days. Things are shaping up much the same way this time around. The difference is that this time the Iranians are in no mood for said ceasefire.

A lie from Energy Secretary Chris Wright turned the oil and stock markets around on Monday. The IAEA released 400 million barrels of oil from its strategic reserve yesterday. Oil markets shrugged it off and headed back higher.
Actors can only lie for so long before reality sets in. The West is enthralled with actors. People’s shallow lies revolve around various celebrity cult distractions. With the people out to lunch on their various screens the global oligarchy can then use us like a rug to fight their resource wars.

Collateral effects of Iran’s goal to drive the United States out of the Middle East
Iran will escalate as Israel and the U.S. military exhaust their supply of anti-aircraft and missile defense, enabling Iran to launch its serious attack on a scale that it stopped short of last June when it agreee to a ceasefire. It will start using its most sophisticated missiles to attack Israel and other U.S. proxies.
There’s nowhere to put additional Arab oil production now that Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz to all but its own ships, most of which are carrying oil destined for China. The storage tanks are full, with nowhere to save new production, which therefore has been forced to stop. And as for liquified natural gas, which is exported mainly by Qatar, its LNG gas works have been bombed. They will have to be rebuilt, which will take two weeks plus an equal time to put them back on line by cooling this gas properly.
In any case, no ships are even trying to approach Hormuz, because Lloyds of London is not issuing insurance policies. The U.S. military has recently sunk or seized Russian ships carrying oil, but the soaring oil prices have led it to permit such transfers in order to stem the world inflation. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said the Treasury Department is examining whether additional sanctioned Russian crude shipments could be released to the market. “We may unsanction other Russian oil,” he said. “There are hundreds of millions of barrels of sanctioned crude on the water … by unsanctioning them, Treasury can create supply.” His remarks follow a U.S. decision to issue a temporary 30-day waiver allowing Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil in an effort to maintain global supply.
Throughout the world, rising oil and gas prices will force economies to choose between having to cut back domestic social spending in order to pay their dollar debts. This war is splitting the US/NATO West from the Global Majority, by creating strains that Japan, Korea and even Europe no longer can afford. The chaotic effect of the U.S. attack has destroyed the narrative that has enabled U.S. diplomats to demand subsidy and “burden sharing” for its global military spending. The predicate fiction is that the world needs U.S. military support to protect it against Russia and China, and now Iran, as if these countries pose a real threat to Europe and Asia.
But instead of protecting the rest of the world by waging the present Cold War the chaos in world oil and gas markets resulting from its attack on Iran show that the United States actually is the greatest threat to the security, stability and prosperity of its allies.
Its attack has fallen largely on its closest allies – Japan, South Korea and Europe. Their gas prices have soared by 20% and are now on their way further upward today. Korea’s stock market has plunged 18% in the last two days. All this is shifting support for removing U.S. control of Near Eastern oil and reorienting it to a market free from U.S. demands for control and dollarization of the world’s energy trade.

My own guess is that the new Iranian leader is smart enough not to engage with the putrile language of bully baffoons.
Nor show his face, or his coordinates or have anything to prove in doing so.
Perhaps he is just in quiet mourning having had his Father, his wife and some of his children recently murdered as they sat around the family table.
The message from Iran seems pretty clear to those of us who are observing it from afar:
“Back off.

And we obviously can’t trust them now or you.
And if you attack us, we will attack you.

The history of nations is often recorded through wars, campaigns, conflicts. In the case of the Greek Revolution, our historical memory is filled with such images: the fire ships of Kanaris, the battles of Kolokotronis, the resistance of Karaiskakis.
But states are not created only on the battlefield. They are born also in the sessions of diplomacy. Such a person was Ioannis Capodistrias. In an age of revolutions and confrontations Capodistrias was the embodiment of a different approach to power. In other words he believed in what today is called strategic deterrence. Perhaps this is what is most up-to-date about Capodistrias. Because his thinking was not applicable only for 1821. It applies for every age. In every historical period states are faced with the same dilemma: to resort to war or try to avert it.
Capodistrias opted for the latter. And his choice was not the product of weakness. It was the result of profound knowledge of international politics.
As Foreign Minister of the Russian Empire he had found himself at the epicenter of European diplomacy. He understood his age’s mechanisms of power better than any other Greek. He also understood something else: that revolutions can win battles but only diplomacy can create states,

This horrific scenario has been planned for generations. The first two world wars were part of the set-up for this final apocalypse – as is the centralization of financial resources that was precipitated with the equally well-planned financial collapse of October 2008.
As if all this were not enough, our source speculates this is all set against the backdrop of a coming “geophysical event” – the same kind of event as was experienced by our ancestors approximately 11,500 years ago. Conclusion
The unlawful war of aggression, launched jointly against Iran by the American and Israeli governments, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, and in defiance of international law, is yet another example of military excesses, which undermine world peace and world order, create chaos, violate national sovereignty and devastate the global economy.
However, without the active military participation of the U.S. Trump government and its defense of Israel at the U.N. Security Council, such an unprovoked military attack against Iran, which could escalate into a global military conflict, could not have occurred or would not have had the same scope.
Indeed, after only a year and a few months in power, it is as if someone had suggested to Donald Trump, at the beginning of his second term, the rogue project of destroying everything, (American democracy, world peace, international trade, etc.), and that this would be good for his personal glory!
On the one hand, domestically, Trump has violated his oath of office by imposing an autocratic administration, in defiance of the U.S. Constitution and the constitutional powers of the elected Congress.
On the other hand, internationally, Donald Trump has made mafia-boss-like threats and launched illegal military attacks against many countries, in his insane quest for world dominance, in addition to adopting destabilizing economic policies that have been condemned by the vast majority of economists.
The consequences are clear for everyone to see: 1- a deep political division currently reigns in the United States, with some citizens being killed while simply exercising their right to protest; and 2- the global economy could regress 100 years and could be plunged into another global economic depression, like that of 1929-1939.
In such a context of domestic, external and general political, economic and military chaos, the primary responsibility of Democratic and Republican elected officials in the U.S. Congress should be to take concrete steps to put an end to the authoritarian and disastrous orientation that has taken hold in their country.

A whole crowd of people are getting rich off this or planning to, look at Cheney for an example. How they keep all their rackets quiet is a marvel, and walk away with so much $$$ and never get locked up or hung. Unfortunately for both the United States and for the sanction-plagued long suffering Iranian people, the grounds for the act of war as elaborated by President Donald Trump are completely fatuous, to include Iranian presumed development of a nuclear weapon and its possession of ballistic missiles that will be able to strike the United States.
Both claims are denied by US intelligence and other sources.
They are lies plausibly sourced from Israel and clearly improvised to justify the carnage, similar in form to the infamous Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice lying claim in 2002-2003 that Iraq was building “weapons of mass destruction” which might lead to a “mushroom cloud” over America.
The Iraq war killed 500,000 Iraqis and 4,431 invading Americans, but who will be counting when you are aiming at something as glorious as regime change in Persia?

I was thinking today that the only people on earth that like the Jews are Jews. And the only Catholics that like Jews are themselves Jews.

To me, either the Trump mob is using the war with Iran to ruin the middle east and crash the world economy, or Trump’s mob has seriously underestimated Iran’s capabilities. After all Iran has been heckled, badgered, taunted, sanctioned and accused of exactly what the USA has done for the past 25 years plus plus. No wonder that Iran was well prepared for this event.
On a slightly different note I read that about 1 month ago people in Cyprus were complaining about the huge influx of Jews to their island. Plus now there are 2 military ships parked there. One French and one from the Netherlands. That makes sense of that comment by Tony from Tazzy when he said that Netanyahu and his parliamentarians had moved to Cyprus. If that is in fact what is happening it may indicate that Israel is in the process of being sacrificed to their God Yahevah, Yahweh, Moloch, Satan or whatever they call it. That looks to be the third possibility that can be added to the two I listed above and most likely the most likely now that I think about it.
That sacrifice, if true, it would be one of their Majik rituals to offset the prophecy in the Bible about God destroying Israel.
Either way I think Israel is doomed.
