OVERNIGHT Monday, Iran launched another barrage of missiles, some of them hypersonic and with cluster munitions, that have hit multiple targets in Israel and the Gulf States.
Reuters reported that the US Embassy in Riyad, Saudi Arabia, had been hit along with multiple other strikes across Israel, particularly Tel Aviv.
The US said Iranian claims that it had struck the USS Abraham Lincoln were “a lie”, adding that missiles launched by Tehran “didn’t even come close” to the warship. Iranian state media and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said four ballistic missiles were fired at the US Navy aircraft carrier near the Gulf region.
Independent journalist Fiorella Isabel, citing an Iranian military official, reported on X that the US base in Kuwait had been “entirely decommissioned”, another US base in Bahrain was hit by 10 attack drones and severely damaged, while the US carrier Abraham Lincoln was “attacked with four missiles” and 560+ US troops had been killed and wounded thus far. Other estimates had more than 600 US servicemen killed.
One video appeared to show multiple missiles hitting Tel Aviv, although it could have been during the previous 12-day War between Iran and Israel in 2024.
Meanwhile Israel’s crooked, warmongering Prime Minister Netanyahu will take comfort that he’s in another conflict to keep the heat off the long-running criminal investigations into his behaviour – and he cares little about how this will affect the rest of the world, let alone his own people and the Iranians.
Netanyahu effectively sabotaged President Trump’s apparent attempts to negotiate some sort of deal with the Iranian regime by bombing the residence of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and killing him, right in the middle of negotiations. “Oh, sorry about that Donald, but I couldn’t resist.”
But Trump and Netanyahu are good buddies, as demanded the Zionist multi-billionaires’ club. Dissident voices like those of Colombia University professor Jeffrey Sachs, say Trump is not only taking Bibi’s orders but working in cahoots with Israel to maintain US global hegemony while giving Israel hegemony over the Middle East.
“This is a war for control of the Middle East, it’s also a war for the control of the oil of the Middle East,” Sachs told NDTV.
Another prominent dissident voice, the economist Catherin Austin-Fitts, has told Tucker Carlson the war is about imposing the global digitial currency and taking control of Iran’s central bank. It seems to fit.
Dissident Republican representative Thomas Massie said “the administration admits Israel has dragged us into the war that’s already cost too many American lives and billions of dollars. Before it’s over, the price of gas, groceries, and virtually everything else is going to go up. The only winners in the US are defense company shareholders.”
This war is also inflaming countries where Shia Moslems are predominant, such as Pakistan where the US Consulate General in Karachi was attacked by supporters of Khamenei.
As the protest escalated, the Marine Security Guards and local police opened fire, killing at least 23 protesters, including 10 in the port of Karachi where security guards at the U.S. consulate fired on demonstrators who breached the outer wall. This is predictable and could have been avoided.
While it’s true that a considereable number of Iranians both at home and expatriated, want to see the end of Khamenei’s Islamic regime, the recent story of “tens of thousands of protester deaths” may be overblown. As stated by former CIA counter-terrorism chief John Kiriakou, Mossad and a co-opted Islamic mercenary group were active in the protests and were involved in some of the killings that were blamed on the Khamenei regime.
