The sudden and total collapse of Spain’s renewable energy grid this week brought to light the reality of so-called renewable energy. Spanish politicians were bragging only a few weeks earlier that the country had achieved its “first weekday of 100% renewable power on the national grid”.
The UK man’s last comment was closer to the truth than he perhaps knew. Academics at the University of Guelph in Canada have researched the wind farm phenomenon and are saying almost exactly that: Wind turbines run on subsidies, not wind, and enrich wind farm corporates while impoverishing taxpayers, says Economics Professor Ross McKitrick.
“All the arguments they put foward for the Green Energy Act (Canada) really turned out to be phony once we looked at them closely,” he said. McKitrick said wind turbines produced power that cost 13.5c a kilowatt-hour to generate, while traditional sources cost 3.5c kWh, which simply raises costs for the productive economy.
“Nobody was building wind turbines in Ontario until the government started throwing money at it. It is not a profitable source of electricity, it is not cost-effective. Wind turbines can’t compete on the wholesale market without a lot of government support.”
Cairns News is aware that the Australian federal government massively subsidizes wind turbines. A former federal Liberal Party staffer from Western Australia said the subsidies ranged from around $600,000 per turbine, while the Institute for Public Affairs says that in 2024, through the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET) subsidy scheme, a total of $1.04 billion was transferred from electricity consumers to the largest 50 wind farms operating in Australia.
This is the same scam outlined by Professor McKitrick: Multinational wind energy companies raking in billions of dollars from so-called renewable energy schemes globally – based on years of agitation by naive, but well-organised environmentalists pushing the anti-carbon narrative.
McKitrick’s findings have been made public in a documentary called Down Wind, produced by Surge Media.
“Progressive” governments in the UK, Canada, the US, Australia and Europe, influenced by Green parties, have had a long-running infatuation with so-called renewable energy, apparently ostensibly because they believe they have some sort of score to settle with “big oil” and “big coal”.
Instead they’ve been duped by “Big Green”, a trillion-dollar-a-year business destroying western nations’ power generation capacity. China, the major supplier of all this “green” technology with more than 1100 coal-fired power stations, must be laughing.

Lakeland solar farm in Queensland has trees growing in between the panels blocking the sun. And through wet season the grader grass covers them.
The wind turbines between Mareeba and Atherton in Queensland are extremely haphazard, I’ve never seen more than half working at the same time.
The wind turbines in Ravenshoe are normally off because the wind is to strong.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not connected to a power grid and use solar power to permanently live in Cape York, but the 18kva Diesel generator automatically runs for 2 hours a day 365 days a year.

All the stories of failed wind turbines make me wonder why they don’t have a tail so they can redirect themselves in case of gusty conditions. They remind me of the story of the “bomb-detectors” purchased by, was it, the UK cops (?), these were a little gun handle thing with an antenna poking out, which soon turned out to be a hoax, after lots of them were purchased.

My wife and I have tripped around Spain, and we found the same issue with wind turbines.
Most of them not working and the very few that were working were facing all different directions even when alongside each other . As for solar power, I was shocked to see the number of solar farms around the country.
I am concerned that by the time the majority of people experience the actual truth with solar power, the horse is bolted. We invested in 3 phase solar power on our property and is a debt that will never be recovered. What is amazing is that when the mains power goes down, our installation is useless as it’s not wired to power our property during blackouts. One argument is that to invest in a lot more money for batteries. Anyone can do the maths for initial outlay, times recouping monies from suppliers, [ this actual return getting less and less], factor in depreciation and maintenance leaves you with an investment nightmare. Also Dick Smith has an interesting article regarding the grid going down and a very costly backup battery system chronic failure.
My understanding is that individual systems can be shut down in the event of natural disasters or high power consumption such as heatwaves to prevent total system failure.
With the aftermath of cyclone Alfred and many thousands of houses and properties left with power, how many of these homes had solar power that could not function.
The other situation I find strange is that the enormous amount of coal we export to countries around the world for coal fired generation, plus many countries building nuclear power plants – hello Australians missing something here.
People need to get a copy of The History of the Commonwealth Bank, get a copy of The Lima Convention, look what happened to us when we were put on world oil parity pricing, the history of taxation, good place to start to see where Australia started derailing.

By which time of course many have broken down. Therefore in Kwh terms it is only AFTER a wind turbine has been operating 20 years that one begins to get “free” energy.
Just coincidentally; I talked to two inventors this month. They don’t know each other. They’re both confident in being able to produce free energy. A wind turbine consists of a three phase motor, not a generator.
They actually produce a non-compliant harmonic waveform which through smart meters is fraudulently added to consumers power accounts.
Wind turbines are detrimental to the grid and one can be sure the recent outage in Spain could be be traced back to wind farms.
The fires in wind turbines are caused by the non-compliant harmonics.
