If AnAL “needs” the vote of Muslim Australians, then surely the sensible thing to do is attract their “votes” AWAY from AnAL to some other preferable group of political candidates, so that AnAL doesn’t GET their “votes”. Is that so hard to comprehend?
Maybe it needs to be spelt out in simple terms to penetrate the armour of bigotry and prejudice that seems to be contaminating our culture – if hordes of Australians project habitual suspicion and nastiness at people of Muslim faith here in Australia, as seems to be happening, then the ONLY plausible outcome is that they will all be driven INTO AnAL’s welcoming arms because they will GLADLY “vote” for someone who they think will protect their interests, legitimate or otherwise, from the REST of us.
