A Gold Coast bed manufacturing company, Adjusta Mattress which displays its goods at regional shows and field days has been described as “tricky and dodgy” and staffed with lots of nice-looking, high-pressure sales women seducing unsuspecting customers to sign contracts for a new bed.

This Adjusta Bed has a
TGA logo underneath it.
That in itself would be
enough for most sleepers
to avoid

One such customer at the Mareeba Field Days held last year was enticed by young women to lie on a demonstration bed in their temporary showroom being one of the many exhibits at the popular three day event.

The casual visitor at the Adjusta Mattresses site said he was surrounded by “pretty young women” who offered to lie on a bed with the older customer while trying it out.

Adjusta Beds has been contacted for comment.

Here is the customer’s letter to Cairns News:

Letter to the Editor

Dear Cairns News I went to the Mareeba Field Days last year and was walking past a bed display when I was pounced upon by a pretty young lass who almost dragged me into her parlour urging me to try out a bed.

I wasn’t looking for any beds and was only visiting to look at some machinery. But the saleswoman was soon joined by another young one who offered to lay on the bed too with me.

Eventually I tried out a bed that I really didn’t want because my room was barely big enough to take it anyway.

One Girl called Mia Ta insisted I buy it and that they would give me a field day discount if I signed on the dotted line and paid a deposit. I told them I didn’t really need a new bed but I would come by next day and look for a cheaper one.

The next day I was seized on by another young girl who showed me another bed but I really wasn’t interested and could not afford the $6000 price anyway.

After more pressure from other girls I was conned into signing a contract and gave them $500 deposit and I told them I might be able to pay the balance later in the year.

Since then I had an accident and had to move from my house and be looked after by a friend for an indefinite time. I contacted Adjusta Beds and asked if they could send me back my $500 but they sent a message saying it was non-refundable and that it was in the contract which I have not seen.

I would like to warn your readers that these high pressure women can be devastating with their tricky and dodgy, unscrupulous sales tactics and now we are are all under financial pressure they should be paying me back my deposit which I could not really afford.

Yours

13 thought on “Adjusta Mattresses come complete with slick saleswomen”
  1. Call me a jaded old Generation X but ambitious young women trying to entice me on to a bed is something that would make me run away as fast as my skinny legs could carry me.

  2. It’s not fair, why haven’t I been pounced on by pretty women like Ming Li and offered “Sucky sucky, five dollah. Ooh me so horny. Me love you long time.”

I hope you said Ta Mia, thanks for the 20 cents field day discount.

Just proves those age old sayings, dick for brains and power of the pussy.

  3. If it isn’t love, getting into bed with good lookin chicks is always likely to be expensive.

Anyone who doesn’t know that is frail of mind and hence entitled to a refund. Plead temporary insanity, grandpa. Lol

  4. Hi Irene we checked his message again after rewriting and he said he went back for a much cheaper bed but there were none it seems. Bit more there too but we can’t print it. Ed

  5. While I feel very sorry for this gentleman, he must learn to say NO very clearly and definitely.
When I was a young lass of 19, I was told by a very wise old gentleman to always say NO THANK YOU if you are not comfortable with the question!
Do not worry about offending the questioner…they are in the wrong for putting you in that uncomfortable position.
I have followed his advice for many decades…it has stood me in good stead.

  6. Slick mattress saleswomen posing on the adjusta bed? Lingerie sales sideline? Enticing the customer onto the bed , etc…

This is one job that won’t be delegated to someone with a weird pronoun, xtinction rebellion tats, fuschia hair with bunny buns.

What is a woman? The person who can get the blokes to sign contracts like the one Name Withheld signed.

I suggest that these mattress saleswomen are not using their superpowers wisely.

  7. A smart and self confident man would have exploited the free situation to his advantage, he would have a bit of fun with the pushy girls, and if they insisted he buy the bed, – he would get them to pay for it!

Oh, – and they can deliver it as well.

    What’s not to like?

  8. The sooner everyone lives by the lores of the land, do no harm to others and take responsibility for your own actions, the sooner we will all live in peace!

  9. Hmmm… let me get this straight. I assume it’s a man writing. In that case, he is obviously very old, because who would turn down the offer to lay on a comfortable bed surrounded by beautiful women, even if they are trying to pressure you into buying a bed you don’t want? Has this man got no balls at all that he couldn’t resist signing a contract he didn’t want? C’mon!

  10. Were these young women “laying” eggs on the beds, or were they lying on the beds, enticingly?
