Crocs are normal occurrences on Cairns northern beaches
Katters Australian Party has issued a warning to the State Government over its apathy and inaction on crocodile management, despite three reported crocodile attacks already this year in the Far North.

Member for Hill Shane Knuth said the government seems to believe there’s no problem, while the reality on the ground in Far North Queensland is crocodile numbers are exploding and more crocs are moving into populated waterways and beaches than ever before.
“I am constantly warned about near misses and sightings of large crocs in areas locals have never seen them in before,” Mr Knuth said.
“It’s only a matter of time before someone is taken by a crocodile and it seems that’s the only thing that will make the government sit up and listen.
“The government are insulting and patronising regional Queenslanders by continually pointing out we should be “’croc aware’.
“Believe me, the majority of us living in Far North Queensland know the dangers, but nobody would expect a croc to attack and take your dog while walking along a walking trail in a populated area with your family.
“We are already past the “acceptable risk” stage.”
Mr Knuth said the KAP had submitted its Safer Waterways Bill twice to parliament and intend on submitting the bill a third time this year.
“The bill will focus on implementing a Queensland Crocodile Authority based in Far North Queensland to self-manage crocodiles, additional funding for more rangers, egg harvesting economic opportunities to indigenous communities and a permit and licencing system towards removal of crocodiles from any populated waterways or beaches,” he said.
“What we are proposing is a better way to manage crocodile populations in Queensland, to reduce the risk to human lives and to open up economic opportunities to indigenous communities.”
KAP Deputy Leader and Hinchinbrook MP Nick Dametto said he was fed up with the government’s inaction on proper crocodile management which led to his question to the Minister for Environment in parliament this week to explain why the department will approve a licenced permit to remove or relocate problem native animals across the state, but not for crocodiles.
“Crocodile numbers and sightings continue to climb across the north and there have been 20 sightings in the Hinchinbrook Electorate in just the last 30 days,” Mr Dametto said.
“We only see what people report and I know from speaking to constituents that many have simply given up reporting croc sightings as they feel it is pointless.
“We can only imagine how high the real number of sightings would be if the data was accurate.
“The State Labor Government doesn’t seem to comprehend that a proactive response to croc sightings will avoid more humans being harmed or killed but instead they choose to wait for the inevitable before reacting.
“Under the current management plan, the department only considers crocodiles to be a risk if there is a significant number of people living in the area. Where does that leave small communities such as Ingham, Cardwell and Tully who are small in human population but have an increased crocodile population.
“The State Government couldn’t care less about the smaller communities in North Queensland,” Mr Dametto said.
The rangers if they can catch them then release them in another waterway giving someone else the problem. Ed

The only proper crocodile management authority is every Aussie with a .303 or a .308 without any restriction. Otherwise we spend a billion or so on cuddling crocs.

Maybe they should have taken some lessons from Steve Irwin…
… and after they finished with the crocodile, they could move on to snakes…

The decision of the Politburo (National Cabinet) to import Black Africans from failed Marxist states is going to change the crocodile policy across the Top End, a policy which is fraimed against Australian communities who are not permitted to act as a check upon Australia’s apex predator. These communities must live with the restrictions that crocodiles impose on them and their predation.
This will all change with the increase of Black African imports and all the ways we will have to respect their rights, their customs, cultures their etc. Specifically their muthi which kills a lot of them every year.
For the Australian Politburo, this constitutes a problem. These people are valuable imports and they are going to force the nannies and do-gooders and political correctoids to protect them from themselves. The Whites of course will have to respect and defer to their stupid customs, but they will force the state to act on the crocodile issue, just as they have forced the South African state to act. In Rhodesia, this phenomena was called: ‘the K-factor’.

For most of my life, I have lived among Aborigines and have absorbed some of their commonsense attitudes. For eight years, I also operated a hard adventure 4WD safari into Kakadu National Park where we climbed sheer cliffs without ropes, leapt off high cliffs, and swum with crocodiles. The crocs were most cooperative.
For each group of tourists, 5000 in all, I passed on the same piece of advice, “The secret of life is to learn to live with nature, not against it because if you fight it, nature will defeat you every time”.
The population of north Queensland has attracted many southern urban residents whose sculptured gardens expose their neurotic belief that one must repress nature at all levels. Thus, they believe that if a river flows through the wilds upstream, it must behave differently when it wends its way past tended parks and curbs and footpaths that now look like Adelaide. That a flood is exactly the same upstream as downstream is not a tap on the shoulder for them regarding nature’s logic. Likewise, they continue to believe, that the crocs upstream must behave differently from those downstream. Urban north Queensland is now dominated by foolishness, which is why it is visibly falling apart.
And with the live export of cattle and proliferation of feedlots, factory managers foolishly calling themselves farmers and cattlemen, have moved into the north and are aliens and will be aliens til the day they die. Most are Southerners and their arrogance is revealed in their contamination of beef with rBGH and antibiotics, and now mRNA vaccinations that will eventually kill consumers. These are not people whose views I regard as socially responsible or dripping pearls of wisdom.
When I encounter them, they even believe that being cattlemen means that they know more than anybody else. How this makes sense is anybody’s guess, especially as I was working cattle on horseback before any of them were born.

As small-town farm-boy with a small-town farm-boy upbringing, I have a dream…
Let’s throw a beach-side family picnic for all the QLD pollies and all the lobbyists and lets throw in all the senior beauracrats and authority figures from every government department and the state medical system just for good measure, plus all their families, plus as many of the QLD hired Gestapo army of psychopathic brain-dead Nazi bash-artists as we can squeeze onto the beach (plus all their families).
They should have a wow of a time splashing around there in a day of fun-filled gaeity.
Just make sure there’s a shitload of crocodiles there too. Big ones – ocean-going salties preferred.
A bucketload of problems solved in one fell swoop.
Simples!

They have always been there and always will be there, and if you flew low level coastal surveillance as some of us did, you wouldn’t go anywhere near the water and also be bloody careful where you went walking near a beach or a creek bank. Work on the principle that you get sea sick on top of the water and eaten when in the water and you can’t go too far wrong. Another problem is that there are more people poking about these days and despite the fact that they reckon they are FNQ ers, they aren’t but have only been there ten or so years. The proof of the pudding is that these so called FNQ ers. buy houses in low lying areas where a genuine FNQ er would never buy and they get flooded or will get flooded when a fallen branch blocks on of these new fangled drains. Why do you think we people built high blocked houses on high ground all those years ago.
