AMIR Tsarfati is a loyal Israeli citizen and Christian, otherwise known as a “Messianic Jew”, who speaks internationally and is this weekend speaking at a Discovering Daniel conference in Perth, expected to be attended by some 800 Christians from mostly evangelical and Pentecostal denominations.
He is touring Australia with American preacher and fellow Christian Zionist Barry Stagner, from Calvary Chapel in the LA district of California, both of whom are pushing the dispensationalist version of Bible prophecy, that cites various Old Testament prophecies (particularly the Book of Daniel) to support the claim present-day Israel is “God’s chosen nation”.
Such a claim is anathema to Israel’s neighbours – not only Palestinian Moslems but Christians as well, such as the West Bank church leader Rev. Dr Munther Isaac, who represents Christians persecuted by West Bank settlers but completely ignored by Christians in the West.
Tsarfati rubs salt into the wound by convincing large numbers of Australian and other western Christians that Israel is in fact God’s chosen nation of prophecy and at every conference he turns on his phone video and records a geed-up crowd shouting “Shalom Israel”,
The scenes are recorded for the benefit of Israeli audiences to let them know how “the Aussies love them so much”.
As for the Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese and Iraqis who are apparently not on God’s radar, they are, as the notorious US Christian Zionist Pastor John Hagee once put it, simply “catfish out of water”.
While we at Cairns News are not advocating any particular theological position and certainly not defending the cause of the militant Islamist forces that Tsarfati himself came up against as an IDF soldier, his “chosen nation” narrative is seriously flawed and objectionable.
The elephant in the room, that Tsarfati seems blind to, is that Israel’s official religion, Judaism, rejects Christ as Saviour and Messiah. Talmudic passages even blaspheme him and his mother Mary.
That dispensationalist messaging comes out of an eschatalogical (prophecy) teaching took root in many Protestant denominations in the early 19th century, It was originally compiled by the English Plymouth Brethren leader John Nelson Darby, who founded the Exclusive Brethren sect that continues today.
It is also claimed that the teaching originated with the Jesuit priest Francisco Ribera in 1590, who wrote a commentary on the Book of Revelation proposing Darby’s “futurist” view, arguing that the apocalyptic prophecies applied to a literal, future Antichrist at the end of time rather than to the Papacy.
Another Jesuit, the Chilean Manuel Lacunza (18th/19th Century) wrote a speculative work on the second coming under a false Jewish name, which was later translated into English by Protestant figures.
What is particularly disturbing about the “Jewish choseness” narrative is that it aligns with, and reinforces, the Jewish supremacism message sprinkled throughout the books of the Talmud.
It is this supremacism – frequently expressed by Jewish settlers in the West Bank – that has a great deal to do with Israel’s inability to get on with its neighbours and the 78 years of bloodshed and fighting since the founding of the modern Zionist state in 1948.
Tsarfati is correct to point out that there has been an outpouring of anti-Israel sentiment worldwide in recent years, somewhat ironically following the October 7th, 2023, attack by Hamas terrorists on a southern Israel music festival and kibbutz community.
Israel is seen by the global Left as “a state of white colonialist invaders oppressing the indigenous population”, which is partially true but a lot more complicated, given that Muslim Arabs make up about 19% of Israel’s population. A further 2-3% are Christian and Druze.
That much-trumpeted October 7 attack was, by the way, very clearly facilitated by the Netanyahu administration, who the BBC reported, ignored the warnings issued by anonymous Egyptian intelligence officials three days before the attack. They warned that an “explosion” and an event described as “very big” was brewing in Gaza.
US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul also publicly stated that warnings were passed from Egypt to Israel three days ahead of the assault. Netanyahu, slyly sidestepped the matter by saying he did not meet with or speak to Egyptian intelligence officials.
On October 7th, 2023, Hamas soldiers literally walked and drove through the Israeli southern border that had been mysteriously abandoned. Furthermore, the IDF took six hours to appear on the scene and when a helicopter appeared, it strafed and killed estimated dozens of people fleeing the music festival.
Israeli wars and politics aside, Tsarfati and Stagner’s pro-Israel dispensationalism completely distorts and misinterprets the New Testament “spiritual unity” teaching of St Paul in addition to the prophecies of Christ’s Olivet discourses.
In the latter case of Matthew chapter 24, dispensationalists commit atrocities against the scripture by taking it wildly out of context and claim that where Jesus tells his disciples of various apocalyptic events that are “at the door” and will be fulfilled before “this generation passes away”, that he is actually talking about a far distant generation some time from 2026 onwards.
Best selling dispensationalist author Hal Lindsey (The Late Great Planet Earth – published 1970) claimed he was living in “that generation” and like many other believers, eagerly awaited a supernatural evacuation from the Earth known as “the rapture” around the expected time of the Second Coming of Christ.
As for St Paul, this highly-educated former Pharisee and persecutor of Christians who was dramatically converted when he met Christ on the road to Damascus, taught that Jews and Gentiles are made one in Christ, and not only one, but “one new man”, as he states in Ephesians chapter 2.
So, as followers of Christ, Jews and Gentiles find a new identity, a point he makes again in Romans chapter 10: “There is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all.”
He writes in his Epistle to the (Gentile) Galatians: “Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.”
Further on he writes: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”
The dispensational theology of Tsarfati and Stagner and others would have Christians believe that God has a separate plan going with people who call themselves Jews and this plan was confirmed when the Zionist state of Israel was formed in 1948.
So in effect, they separate Jews and Gentiles, claiming the Old Testament covenants still apply to them, despite the New Testament Epistle to the Hebrews (chapter 8) teaching that God gave Israel “a new covenant based on better promises”, in fulfillment of the prophecy of Jeremiah chapter 31.

I will contend that all this Israel/Zionism business could not have occurred without the instigation of the “British Israel World Federation”. The Yanks pride themselves on having “repudiated” the mascot of the Pommy empire (the “kingy fellow”, George) but embraced George’s owners and controllers; namely the megalomaniac “merchants” and usurers centred in the city state known as the “City of London”, from where they have become notorious “goons” or “hit men” for Anglo-American Zionism’s “New World Order”.
It will come as an “incredible” “conspiracy theory” to note that the modern “state” of Israel is almost entirely a creation of Anglo-Zionism.

Michael Slovanos responds: Pamela, Romans 11 simply confirms that God has not rejected biblical Israel as a group (some were rejected because of their unbelief), and that for a Jew to come to Christ represents great fulfillment. We read earlier in Romans 9:6-8 “For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.”
So being an ethnic Jew does not qualify one as being “chosen”. It is grace through faith that qualifies one for salvation. Hebrews 8 tells us God gave Israel a new covenant based on better promises, and the old covenant is obsolete. For Amir Tsarfati to suggest that we are obliged to “bless Israel” because of the Abrahamic covenant is seriously wrong. Christ is the seed of Abraham and believers in Christ the “seeds” plural. “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29

This is an absolute prerequisite, and especially when dealing with time based subject material such as prophecy.

Why centuries of believers end up so utterly confused stems from this primary negligence of historical understanding. To confirm this, let them talk knowledgeably about the End of the World, and then ask, – which End of the World are they talking about? For some reason they all go quite at this point?

First up, the NT incorporates five major calendar systems: either solar, lunar or lunisolar. These were used by the various contemporary Jewish sects, i.e., [i]. The ‘Intermediate Solar’ (InterS) and Southern Solar (SS) of the Samaritan-Magians, [ii]. The ‘Intermediate Solar’ (InterS) of the Samaritans, [iii]. The ‘Solar Calendar’ (S) of the Essenes, [iv]. The ‘Northern Lunisolar’ (NLS) and ‘Southern Lunisolar’ (SLS) of the Herodians and Pharasees, and [v]. The ‘Northern Solar’ (NS) of the Christians. Needless to say, the NT also preserves references to the Roman Julian calendar.

Its in the Enochian literature where we find Judaism’s ‘Original Scheme for the History of the World:’ – this is based upon the Solar Calendar system. This was the first of several schemes, stemming from the original Enochian apocalyptic source material (I Enoch. 93: 3-10, 91: 12-16). In this scheme the World was taught to last for 4900 years (too complex to explain here), and its history would conclude with the Last Judgment and a New Heaven.

According to this original Jewish scheme, Creation began at the Anno Mundi of Year 0 (3668 B.C.). The important Week 8 (490 years = 1 Week), meaning the Anno Mundi of 3920 (A.D. 253), marked the prophesied ‘Restoration of the Temple to the Davids,’ and then later, the finalising Week 10, meaning the Anno Mundi of 4900 (A.D. 1233), – represented by ‘The Last Judgment.’

As can be seen by the original dates above, which were still centuries away from fulfilment, it was the events occurring within the Holy Land immediately prior to the birth of the Davidic heir, Yehoshua (Jesus), which saw a real prospect for the fulfilment of the Week 8 prophesy, – the ‘Restoration of the Temple to the Davids.’

As the potential for the fulfilment of prophesy was unfolding around 250 years out of synch with the Enochian apocalyptic school and its Original Scheme for the History of the World, then needless to say, – the prophecy would have to be rewritten to ‘align with the contemporary events.’

And that’s precisely what happened. The first revision occurred during the Maccabean Wars (168-160 B.C.), when the contemporary Anno Mundi of 3500 (168 B.C.) was changed to 3920, – the time of the prophesied ‘Restoration of the Temple to the Davids.’ This also pushed the Creation of the World back 420 years to what they originally supposed! – to 4088 B.C..

Due to the failure in reinstating the exiled Davidic heirs and their priests to the Temple, this resulted with a second major revision, followed by a third. To secure support from the Jewish people, the Idumean imposter and puppet of Rome, Herod the Great, introduced his own revision – ‘The Exodus-Holy War Scheme, this in turn prompted the Anti- Herodian revisions, etc.

If the Catholic Church, in this case Pope Damasus, chose from among the letters being read throughout the church at the time, those ‘books inspired’, how did he know they were the right books? As a Catholic I have no problem with this as I believe in the infallible magisterium. But non Catholics don’t, so how could they know the selection was accurate? I had one chap claim “God would protect His holy word”. He overlooks of course that Jesus never asked for a bible to be written, but He did say He came to establish His church. ‘The Church’, that He guaranteed to be with until He returns. So I am to believe He has abandoned the Church He came to found, but protects a book He never asked for! Nor does it make any sense one who does not believe in the infallible magisterium would believe in the choice of books that make up the bible, remembering also that Luther removed a number of them on his own authority, so non Catholic bibles are missing numerous books. Seems to me a non Catholics using a bible is at best a self defeating position. As to these two clowns, I suspect I know more about brain surgery than they know about the bible. It would be a fool who wastes a precious moment of their time listening to them.

Whilst I rarely comment on your news items, I read (most of them) avidly as there are few sources remaining in today’s world that fulfil the two basic requirements for appropriate reporting, those being 1) rational and 2) truthful (accurate).
Whilst I am not attempting to suggest Cairns News never gets it wrong, I find you delightfully adept at fulfilling both these criteria.
This brings me to the article in question, regarding the visit to Perth of Amir Tsafarti. My comments are directed, not at Amir or his message. I believe that any competent, intelligent person is quite capable of deciding for themselves what they believe and the more information they receive, the greater resource they have to inform that position. Primarily, my purpose is to address the content of Michael’s article.
It is rare in the public arena to find someone with as much insight into theological issues as Michael clearly does. Even more rare that they share it as clearly as in this article. I highly commend him for doing so. Like I have discovered, even with myself at times, however, it is easy to sway too far in one direction or the other on what may be a multi-faceted issue. Certainly dispensationalism is such an issue. There are so many different interpretations and renderings of such, that to speak as definitely as Michael has on this matter leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
Dispensationalism itself, in fact, is not one single theological view. Case in point, though an avowed “dispenationalist”, I agree with much of what is stated in this article. My plea is to not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Dispensationalism itself is simply a means of arranging the different ways in which God has dealt with His creation over time. Maybe we should just call them “eras” or “periods”, however many of these differing time frames were accompanied by a covenant between God and His people, which tends to validate the use of the word “dispensation”. It is wise, then, to define what we mean by the use of that word.
Some simple “dispensations” that would be uniformly, if not universally, accepted by Bible scholars, are1) the Adamic covenant, 2) the Abrahamic covenant, 3) the Mosaic covenant and 4) the Christian covenant. I would also add the Millennial covenant, yet future, though I am aware that that is not a universally held view. Each of these was a defined period during which God dealt with His people in significantly different ways. Neither God nor His Word had changed. It was simply that, as time unfolded, circumstances on the Earth developed to a point where it became necessary to “tweak the system” as it were. The same is true in any family. Adult children are not treated the same as teenagers, who themselves are not treated the same as toddlers, nor toddlers the same as infants, etc.
So the question in point is, “Has God finished dealing with Israel?” The Preterist would say, emphatically, “Yes!” The problem that leaves us with, however, are the promises made to Abraham and his children, established in Genesis 12:7 but emphasized in Genesis 15. (Note this is an unbreakable covenant that depends on God alone [represented by the smoking firepot and the blazing torch] and did not depend on Abram, who was sleeping on the side!) Without attempting an exhaustive record of the promises, suffice to say that it was repeated to Abram, and then Abraham after his name change, then also to Isaac in Genesis 17:21 and Jacob in Genesis 28:13-15, using words such as “forever” and “unto eternity”.
Numbers 23:9 reminds us that God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent. His Word is true and His promises unfailing.
Where, then, does that leave us in respect of modern day Israel? God also made some rather remarkable promises to Israel, with which I am sure you are familiar, so I will refrain from quoting them all, being that if they were disobedient to Him, He would throw them out of the land. Were they obedient? Absolutely not. Did He eject them from the land? Many times! Did they learn? Again, absolutely not! But in Isaiah 44:21 the Lord also promises that they will not be forgotten. In Isaiah 49:14-16, God promises to remember Zion.
So now, as Paul Harvey says… “Here’s the rest of the story”! I have investigated diligently all of the promises that I can find in the Scriptures regarding Israel’s return to the land. None of them fit with modern day Israel. The only interpretation that makes them fit in a manner that both makes them true, and allows for the detail to be accurate, is that they are Millennial promises, not part of this present age.
What then, of modern day Israel? It must be said that when ons speaks generally, there is always the risk of offending the specific, so when I speak of modern day Israel, I am speaking of the political structure and leaders, not the individuals that make up the population. I am sure many of them are lovely, God-fearing people. The “system”, today’s Zionist movement however, is something entirely different. Initiated by the Khazar converts to Judaism and the “Committee of 300”, whom are, I am sure you are aware, Luciferians< the 1948 return of teh "Jews" to the land was not God returning His people. It was, and still persists to be, a Luciferian attempt to establish a global government with Jerusalem as its headquarters in order to force the fulfilment of Zionist prophecies. As Jesus said in John 3:6, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." This is an attempt to do in the flesh what God promised to do by His Spirit. Their greatest error was to have their Messiah crucified. Thei next is an attempt to replace Him!
All this leads back to where we started and I will close with the simple appeal to not discard dispensationalism because some have misused or misrepresented it. The book of Revelation is still a part of the revealed Scriptures and much of it is yet to take place. Even this modern Israel will play their appointed part, as did Judas Iscariot, for from them will come the one that is dubbed Antichrist.
