Oxitec Australia has applied to release genetically modified mosquitos in Queensland for the purpose of eradicating disease-carrying mosquitos. Submissions can be made in May to the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator on the safety of the release. Registration documents below.
The application
Female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are responsible for biting and transmitting diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and Zika viruses in many countries. These mosquitoes are not native to Australia but arrived over 100 years ago and are currently found in north and central Queensland and parts of southern Queensland,where they have been linked to dengue outbreaks.
Oxitec Australia Pty Ltd (Oxitec) is seeking approval to commercialise a strain of GM mosquito to help control the population of Ae. aegypti mosquitoes in Queensland. Eggs of the GM mosquito strain, called OX5034 Ae. aegypti, would be produced overseas and imported into Australia. These eggs would be used to prepare mosquito rearing boxes at a dedicated facility in Queensland. The mosquito rearing boxes would be used to release the GM mosquitoes into the environment.
A joint venture between British biotech firm Oxitec and Australia’s CSIRO plans to release genetically engineered mosquitoes in the Torres Strait to combat mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, Zika, and yellow fever.
The project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, involves releasing male mosquitoes with a self-limiting gene that prevents the survival of biting females.
Oxitec CEO Grey Frandsen emphasized collaboration with Indigenous communities. “We aim to not only protect lives, livelihoods, and biodiversity but also empower Indigenous communities to take the lead,” he said.
Despite support from Oxitec and CSIRO, critics have voiced concerns. Independent Queensland Senator Gerard Rennick opposed the trial, arguing, “Given there is next to no dengue fever in Australia, this proposed trial is completely unnecessary and risky.”

These mosquitoes were males rendered infertile to reduce if not eliminate completely its existence over there.
So … what has been observed is actually both scary as hell but also quite fascinating to see how, once again, the power of genetic adaptation typical of all carbon based creation (minus the genetic filth, a worm has a far superior genetics than that) of this planet …
After the release of these useless males, females mosquitoes went looking for males mosquitoes could reproduce with. When found one, being a different specie, the genetic of the females changed to sync with these males ones.
To be honest I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF READING ABOUT THESE EFFIN PSYCHOPATHS.
What is forking needed for the authorities of any kind really, to go and arrest this pile of inhuman filth for once and all?
Occurred to me that if a citizen calls the cops because a stranger has been seen lurking around the front yard of its neighbour … and … not sure officer, but he has something in his hand that may be a gun or a knife … not sure too dark to see clearly. Please come I am afraid.
