KAP Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has written to the Prime Minister to immediately halve fuel excise tax to deliver emergency relief from record price pressures crippling the nation’s freight industry, and protect Australia’s primary producers.
Mr Katter has warned the PM that farmers and freight operators being crushed by skyrocketing fuel costs across North Queensland are now reaching breaking point – with the escalating threat to their viability raising alarm that Australia’s biggest banana-growing region faces the prospect of fruit being left to rot this season, due to prohibitive fuel prices for harvest and transport.
“If we fail to act quickly, the consequences will not be limited to regional Australia,” Mr Katter wrote to the PM. “When farmers in Kennedy cannot afford to harvest and transport their produce, supermarket shelves across the nation will feel the impact.”
Mr Katter said that while farmers, truck drivers and families struggled under exorbitant fuel costs, the Commonwealth Government continued to collect both the fuel excise and GST on every litre sold – “still taking the cream from every bowser while the people who grow and transport our food are pushed closer to the brink”.
With the North Queensland electorate of Kennedy accounting for one of the nation’s largest and most productive food bowls – growing 90 per cent of Australia’s bananas for our second-most bought supermarket item (after toilet paper) – Mr Katter said reports of growers now questioning whether they could afford to harvest fruit this season were “an unacceptable situation for a country as wealthy and resource-rich as Australia”.
“We are being told farmers are letting fruit rot as the cost of picking it and trucking it to market no longer stacks up – which should send a chill through every government office in this country.”
With immense pressure on the road freight industry that underpins agricultural supply chains, major North Queensland operators fear the unsustainable burden of out-of-control fuel costs.
“Companies such as Blenner’s Transport and Curley’s Transport – the lifeblood of our supply chain in North Queensland, moving produce from paddocks to plates – they are left with no choice but to pass on those increasing costs down the line,” said Mr Katter. “And the people at the very bottom of that chain are our farmers.”
Mr Katter said halving the fuel excise would deliver relief not just to freight companies and farmers, but also families across the country. “This is a simple decision the Prime Minister can make right now to protect Australia’s farmers and the supply chain that feeds this nation.”

In 2006 I was working in FNQ carting sugar cane and was talking with banana growers who were telling me their crops had been flattened by a cyclone and told me they were ruined and I said hang on ,the banana’s are still connected to the trunk so other than being horizontal instead of being vertical I don’t see why they can’t be harvested and sent to market and being horizontal might make them easier to load on to farm trailers by hand to be taken to their sheds to be packed ,and with that they looked at each other with bug eyes and said to each other and got giddy and said , “why didn’t we think of that”
Funny how banana prices have increased to $8 per kilo ; When there was a big shortage after a cyclone some years ago they increased to about $30 per kilo in Woolies & Coles .
Swiss Farms located west of Cooktown near Lakeland Towns made a fortune selling their banana’s because they are not affected by cyclones .
Nice Nev! Ed
O-Bob -Those election promises are made by politician’s who are still in contract from their previous election so at the very least they can be sacked for dishonesty . .
In Law a promise to pay either verbal or in writing cannot be deemed as legally held accountable
You silly old sausages need to get used to the BREACH OF CONTRACT idea, as it sticks. Example being: political promises during re-election campaigns: the pollies never deliver on their promises once sworn into Parliament, and for one simple reason: they were not IN CONTRACT when they made their promises, so there is no legal imperative to deliver on those promises. They are only IN CONTRACT when sworn into office, and having done so re then IN CONTRACT, with no legally enforceable obligation to deliver. But their obligation, once in office, is to ensure that everything they do results in the Constitutionally mandated “…peace, order and good government.” So Pat might take his rope down to his local Member’s office and hot them with BREACH OF CONTRACT on whatever comes to mind. And the highest mandated obligation of government is “to protect life and property…”, and it would not be too hard to see that the fuel business is potentially a major threat to people’s lives.
See how you go, Pat. I’m with you all the way, cobber.
David A said… “… The plan is to drive farmers off the land – hence all the Native Title claims by UNDRIP-linked Aboriginal Corporations, wind and solar farms (incl: easements) and weather weapons are all about….”
For those who are still in a doubtful haze, it doesn’t get much more clear than that, does it! You can’t do Native Titles while the farmers are on the land and have title to it.
–
So shift and cram the farm landowners into coastal fringe 15 min cities, then use the Native Titles to encourage political separatism and sovereignty for the Natives so they can be persuaded by multi national interests to break up the Australian interior land mass and become servants to their newly acquired neo-colonial, corporate masters.
–
So go ahead and starve the farmers, get them off the bulk of the Australian land mass. Farmers need FUEL and FERTILISER! Guess which TWO countries supply the most significant quantities to the World and whose supplies are being limited by war and sanctions! YES, YOU GOT IT, RUSSIA AND IRAN. BUT NO DOUBT YOU RECKON IT’S A COINCIDENCE, RIGHT?
It sounds like Bob Katter has never read Agenda 21, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Developement or Vision 2050. The plan is to drive farmers off the land – hence all the Native Title claims by UNDRIP-linked Aboriginal Corporations, wind and solar farms (incl: easements) and weather weapons are all about. Look up the Wildlands project in the US. The elites want divide up the world into zones with no human access, limited human access, and rack and stack all the “useless eaters” in their 15 minute “Kill Cities” (aka: Smart Cities), driving EV’s and renting everything they need #Beyondthereset #1984.
I am currently in Egypt. I have lived in Iran for 4 years before the Revolution. I speak Arabic and Farsi. I have a good idea of what is really going on.
For years, I told anyone who would listen that Iran is grossly underestimated. It is a civilisational state – like China, Egypt, Greece Turkey, Japan, India and so on. The Zionist state is a colonial pimple. It will be kicked out just as the French were kicked out of Algeria. Of course, it will cause more havoc in due course. That is what it has been doing for the past 80+ years.
The Persian Gulf is called the Persian Gulf because all the countries neighbouring it were vassals of the Persians for a very long time. Kuwait will return to Basra, Iraq. Bahrain will return to Iran. The UAE will no longer be a financial centre. It will revert to being a vassal of Iran. Saudi Arabia may split. The oil is in the east – where the Shia tribes have always lived. The west of Saudi Arabia may return to Yemen. Historically, Yemen and Egypt controlled that region. Riyadh is a nonentity. It all depends on how smart MBS is. His project for modernising the Saudi society is a failure.
My Egyptian grandfather was a civil engineer who graduated from Kings College, London. He built part of the road linking Cairo to Suez. That is the route Australian cavalry took to attack the Turks in Palestine. The idea that Australian troops are in the UAE and in Ukraine is outrageous. The British/American empire is history. The European Jews in Israel will have to leave for Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Europe and the USA – where they came from. They are genocidal maniacs who deserve everything the Iranians are dishing out to them. Complete and utter scum.
The only policies the ALP is interested in implementing are Globalist policies they got through their donors, the Governor General or WEF in Swissyland. They have no reason to try harder because Mr Rope and Mrs Lamp-post are nowhere in sight. All they will do is go on TV and lie, lie lie. And everyone knows it.
Prize winning portrait of Katter
That pinpoints just how unimaginative his opponents actually are
Totally agree with Rob Katter – Remove 52.6c fuel excise and GST now on farmers
A little bit here for shareholder Aussiemal and the rip-off of Aussies over their resources.
If you look at the Norway Sovereign Pension fund you will see that the Norwegians charge around 76% tax on resources ripped from their tiny patch.
And the fact is-a this is confirmed-that every Norvegican has around $325k in their bank account, with $27k going in every year.

The article quotes Bob Katter – “… “We are being told farmers are letting fruit rot as the cost of picking it and trucking it to market no longer stacks up – which should send a chill through every government office in this country…”
Why? Since when do the sold-out paid-off Treasonous foreign owned low-life baby-eating mongrel arsehole bastards masquerading as our “government” give a rat’s arse? Their obscene salaries and benefits and ultra-wealthy pensions are GUARANTEED no matter what, after all, and if the cost of things start to get a bit unwieldy then they’ll just award themselves ANOTHER big fat pay rise on top of all the OTHER eye-watering annual pay rises bigger than most of us Useless Eaters will see in our LIFETIMES.
That walking talking speech-impaired Pig’s Arse aka AnAL has MULTIPLE multi-million dollar “investment properties” and luxury beach homes to retreat to if the going gets a bit rough, and they can ALL saunter off overseas to some idyllic pedo island to live out their lives of unfettered wealth and luxury AT OUR EXPENSE, so again, WHY should ANY of them give a rat’s arse? We already have TENS OF THOUSANDS living in cars and under bridges, what’s a few hundred thousand or even a few MILLION more to these anti-Australian Luciferian vermin?
These Satanic SCUM quite clearly DO NOT work for us nor do they ANSWER to us, matter of fact they delight in shitting in our faces at every possible opportunity and laying the boot in whenever they can. They even FORCE-INJECT us with MILITARY BIOWEAPONS and MICROWAVE MILLIONS OF US whenever they can, and they’ve MURDERED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of us in just the last five years. To be pedantic about it, why change now? Pig’s F*cking Arse.
It is disgrace indeed that being 3-4 place in the world with our resources, we are on our knees because of the war in the East Asia region. Who is running the country in such way???
Katter has written to the PM, nice, etymologically speaking……only, a globalist bankster parading as Canada’s supreme leader resiliently 🤮 pushing one world government goals recently paid Albo a visit.
I’m 99 .999% convinced Albo is a 2030 SDG foreign agent; has had plenty of time to kickstart a self sustaining second rate Australian economy but like Morrison who stored fuel in the U.S., it’s maybe still there 🤔, has no intension too.
Wakey wakey.
Several years ago I had shares in an Australian company by name of Linc Energy Ltd. They informed shareholders of a huge oil basin north west of Adelaide in which they had an interest. There was a hiccup and I think were taken over by an Asian company. To transfer shares to that company was too expensive for me so I lost my interest. What I am getting at is this huge oil resource passed off to a foreign company and nothing has come of the oil therein.
Good on you Australian politicians, make sure we don’t benefit from our resources. I am sure there are more oil resources treated the same way. All products to be imported for benefit of all except Australians. Now Australian super funds are going to invest in the country of the “criminal Trump”, we hear.
Old Bloke :Phosphate Hill in Qld is in operation and phosphate is still being mined on Nauru
I am becoming very annoyed with people ringing us to ask if we have solar panels , it’s not the call that bugs me , it’s when they hang up abruptly when I inform them that we have a nuclear power station in our backyard .
There is an oil refinery in Brisbane that produces a diesel fuel with a high rate of sulphur that is now banned in all forms of transport in Australia so it is exported instead .
When the ban took place diesel trucks were in strife all over Australia because sulphur acts as a lubricant in diesel fuel injector pumps so an alternative had to be found in a hurry and that was Add Blue but that is only made by one company I think is in Brisbane and like that not so long ago there was a limited supply until the government had to step in and help.
That diesel with the sulphur would be ideally suitable for use in the agriculture/transport/mining /fishing sectors where that equipment does not enter populated areas that caused the ban to be put in place because of breathing air quality .
Sulphur is a natural element and is found in volcanic locations like in NZ and an island further north which exploded a few years back when tourists visiting died when it exploded so it cannot be seen as a man made atmospheric poison , instead it is seen as a fertilizer much like carbon is .
Socialism eats it’s self.
I think the gov should increase the fuel excise, so there is no fuel and so there is no food.
Why? Because the worse things get, the more change is possible. Maybe the cattle will rise from their slumber when they’re starving.
Aussies = bovine.
The biggest upcoming problem with food is going to be the high cost of fertiliser. 33% of the world’s urea comes out of the Persian Gulf, or it used to till that imbecilic idiot in the White House started a war with Iran. Less fertiliser means less and more expensive food. It’s not only the cost of petrol and diesel that will go through the roof, prepare to take out a mortgage to do your weekly grocery shopping.
I wrote to the local Geelong paper this morning about this ridiculous failure of the most basic governmental task of keeping the country viable economically, by ensuring that the (diesel-fueled) wheels of commerce keep turning, ad pm seeing this article phoned Bob’s office to say that the excise should be halved and restitution also made for the unlawful GST that should never have been imposed in the first place, as there is a Constitutional prohibition on it.
And the Senators, the Guardians of the Constitution should never have let that GST happen in the first place.
My letter:
“The facts of the matter regarding the relentless bombing of Iran are that Donald Trump is jeopardising
the viability of a majority of the world’s economies reliant on oil from that region.
It is already bad enough that idiotic European regimes have ruined their energy situation, many of them
being reliant on Russian gas and oil, so it might be imperative that these regimes tale a reality check
and just realise what and who are keeping their economies afloat.
For Australia’s part, most of our liquid fuel-around 90%-comes from Singaporean mega-refineries, due to
the fact that successive Australian governments have decimated our refining capacity.
Whilst initiating these net zero policies, the fact is that all this time fossil-correctly named: mineral-fuels have
driven our economy and kept it ticking over whilst those NZ policies are seeing the country possibly grinding
to a complete halt.
This is a major fail of government rendering them not fit to be sitting in the nation’s Parliaments, because our
Members, once sworn into office, are thus contracted, with their main gig being to provide the services we
pay our taxes for them to deliver.
So if you are in breach of contract, you get sued, and/or: sacked.”

Go Bob!!!
Hey folks,
A compelling argument by the venerable Bob Katter.
But it doesn’t matter, folks, because the sold-out paid-off foreign-owned baby-eating poo-punching paedophilic turds masquerading as our craven parasitic mongrel arsehole bastard verminous political class DON’T CARE, not the least little bit. They don’t work for us, and they don’t answer to us, they get THEIR orders, their LOCKSTEP orders, from their foreign Vampire benefactors and OWNERS.
Sorry to have to say it, folks, but we’ll be getting a real TASTE in the coming months and years of why we so deseperately need Mr. Rope and Mr. Lamp Post to ride into town. Which is rather ironic, seeing as how so many of us will be STARVING, dying and DEAD.
Ain’t nothing else gonna fix it, folks. Sturdy rope and lamp posts – count on it.
