Farmers across Mallee and Victoria are standing shoulder to shoulder protecting their land, their livelihoods, and Australia’s future food production.
“Under new Victorian Government laws, power companies can force access onto private property to build massive transmission projects like VNI West. Farmers are saying loud and clear — access denied,” says Western Region Liberal MLC Bev McArthur.
“I’ve spoken to locals on the ground. They are not intimidated. They are united, strengthened by community support, even from city residents ready to stand with them.
“This isn’t just a fight about transmission lines — it’s about respect, democracy, biosecurity, and protecting the land that feeds our nation. Our farmers deserve support, not bullying,” says Mrs McArthur.
Meanwhile members of the Wallaloo and Gre Gre District Alliance in the St Arnaud district, say farmers across their region are feeling overwhelmed and unheard.
“TCV and VicGrid/VicGrub keep pushing to access land we don’t want disturbed. Our farms aren’t just properties they’re our homes, our history, and our livelihoods,” one member said.
“While older farmers, widows, and those living alone often feel the strain the most, the truth is that everyone in our community is being affected.
“No one should feel pressured or intimidated when all they want is to protect what they’ve worked so hard to build. Many people regardless of age or circumstance feel vulnerable under this pressure, all we’re asking for is respect and the right to be left alone to work the land we’ve cared for our whole lives.
“Our message is simple. We do not support the VNI West project. We want to be respected, we want to be heard, and above all, we want to keep farming the land we love. We don’t want unwanted intrusion or disruption we just want to farm in peace.”
On-farm action meanwhile, is taking place in Western Victoria with farmers and supporters again blocking access to a property.
Andrew Weidemann of the Cross-Victoria Alliance says access has been denied yet again to the renewables roll-out in the west of the state.
Weidemann challenged Indi MP Helen Haines, a Teal-type greenie who told Federal Parliament the renewables roll-out was being welcomed in Victoria, to “get off what ever planet she’s on and came out to Western Victoria to actually talk to farmers”.

Further to my previous post, the Victorian government needs to produce a list of Ministers who have pecuniary interests in these power line companies.
I have been told, by contacts in other states, that state government Ministers in the relevant states, Tasmania being one of them, have shares in some of the power companies operating in Tasmania, and there is no reason to believe they will not have shares in the companies rolling out the turbines and power lines.
I have also suggested to the friend near Swan Hill that the locals barrage the local state Members with phone calls and written Notices demanding some proper representation in regard to the protection of their properties.
Said friend is one who DOES write to his local council and state Member, and gives them plenty of curry.
More people like this man are sorely needed.
Farmers in the Swan Hill region have been out daily this week disallowing one of the powerlines companies surveying companies access to their properties. One company has not shown its face since one of their surveyor blokes handed over false ID to the farmer in question, who knew the man from another time
That false ID raises questions that fraud or some sort of criminality may be involved in that effort, and I have suggested to the farmer friend that in future target property owners demand of the government that they show proof their alleged authority over anyone’s private property, which they do not have.
Furthermore, I have suggested that those protester farmers stand by what I maintain, which is that legislation has no validity unless it is in the express public interest.
This is because your local Member never asks you how you would like them to vote (as their alleged representative) on a piece of legislation, but just go and do it anyway.
S that legislation is not valid Law, as it is not consented-to Law, but private law Read: Gough Whitlam putting us, unlawfully, on UNIDROIT) that has no validity as far as the public goes.
And if a loophole is found in legislation the Parliament scurries into the chamber in great haste to close that loophole that is advantageous to the general public.
I would love to debate that notion in a Common Law court with a jury making the decision.

The PREMIUM FEED-IN TARIFFS IS DUE TO END ON THE 30TH JUNE, 2028 so it is high time that solar panel owners who applied to install solar panels before the 30th of September 2011 think about getting a plan in place when it ends, if not sooner, especially if you are not getting the benefits anyway because of low solar exports.
The other thing that is imminent is what is called a ‘solar export tariff’ also commonly referred to as a “SOLAR TAX OR SUN TAX”. Because of the glut of solar on rooftops in Australia and especially in SA, there is an oversupply of energy from solar during the day and electricity providers are introducing a new mechanism to charge solar panel owners for the electricity they feed back into the grid. What it amounts to is that solar panel owners may be charged to export energy to the grid (1-3c/kWh) depending on the time of day.
