Interesting view point, I have no idea as your evidence so I am going to have to assume that you saying that people don’t grow over time i.e Heraclitus was wrong and “you can step into the same river more than once”

Alison, I thought you were taking the piss with “Assistant Minister for the Republic”. Then I googled it and it’s true. Lucky the Voice referendum fell over otherwise a vote on a Republic would have followed suit quickly. Imagine, Aust, a Republic, with no Bill of Rights.
What could possibly go wrong?
Re Jacinta – right person, right time. I know nothing of her personal background but she has landed on her feet and is doing some good things, all within an environment brim full with political sharks and charlatans.

This is true – IMO one is either Australian, or one is not. Everything beyond that here in Australia is secondary.
And to quote that pervasive trope – “Correlation is not causation”.
Meaning in this case, that the “most marginalised” being Aboriginal doesn’t mean that their race caused their marginalisation – other wise all Aboriginals would be “most marginalised”, which is clearly not so. Set Theory applies here.
However, by the same token, people living in abject poverty without adequate education or support or access to modern facilities and opportunites, caught in a twilight zone between two cultures, way out there in the harsh Australian widerness and ESPECIALLY manipulated to serve entrenched vested interests of predatory institutions, are IMO definitely in the running for the title of “most marginalised” here in Australia.
Their skin colour might not define their predicament, but doesn’t negate it either.

In an interview following the defeat of the Voice referendum, Australia’s Assistant Minister for the Republic stated that “now is not the time” but he added: that change to a republic is still their vision and their platform. From Australian Monarchist League

Matt Thistlethwaite MP is the Assistant Minister for the Republic.
His portfolio is stated as: Undertake initial work on an Australian republic as a constitutional reform, and support the Attorney-General in his work. He is also Assistant Minister for Defence, Assistant Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, and the Federal Member for Kingsford Smith.
Mark Dreyfus KC MP was appointed Attorney-General of Australia, on 1 June 2022. At that time he stated that he would be working closely with his colleague, Indigenous Affairs Minister Linda Burney to put a Voice to Parliament in the Constitution.
His own words – “The Uluru Statement from the Heart, delivered five years ago, remains a deeply generous offer for a partnership to pursue meaningful reconciliation as a nation. This is an offer our nation cannot afford to let slip by” – can now be judged much more clearly with critical discernment since the defeat of the Voice referendum.
As Mr. Trump has said, “Our threat is from within.”

The only thing she says that I am at odds with is that blak Australians are ‘the most marginalised’! Although some may fit into that general category, there are some equally ‘most marginalised’ white Australians and probably some from other ethnic groups here as well. ‘Most marginalised’ is to do with personal situation, not skin colour!

Whenever somebody looks like they are one of the good guys, I devise a means of testing their knowledge and integrity. Sadly, Price has fallen short. I won’t go into details but just be warned. There will be many great leaders, writers, gurus, pundits, and messiahs who will step up to lead us in the next couple of years. Check out their backgrounds. Were they saying the opposite a decade or so ago? Are they suddenly famous and well-resourced? Is the mainstream media gradually heeding them? These are the warning signs.

Well said by a true Aussie with integrity and ethics which is very rare in any parliament. Lets stop this creping communism which is gathering speed.
