Iconic Australian apparel retailer R.M.Williams has announced a new store opening in Cairns Central, promising an exciting new clothing experience with a host of handcrafted details.

The space includes dedicated areas for the brand’s ever-growing range of clothing, accessories and lifestyle goods, leading to a pinnacle boot wall at the rear of the store.

Stockmen say RM Williams
boots made in Australia are
the best in the world

This region of the store has been crafted as an immersive introduction to the brand’s iconic leather boots and their complementary offering, including care products and matching belts. Customers are invited to settle into the space on bespoke leather seating, enjoy a Master Boot Fitting from an R.M.Williams expert and step into the brand’s legendary craftsmanship in the form of its handcrafted leather boots.

In line with the brand’s recent spate of new store openings and refurbishments, local craftsmanship and thoughtful finishes are present throughout the space. The eye-catching boot wall is lined with bricks by Krause, a celebrated family-run brickmaking business from Victoria, whilst leather detailing on fittings and seating nods to the brand’s legacy of premium leather craft.

Wardrobe-style fixtures allow customers to build their own R.M.Williams collection in a tactile and relatable way, whilst bespoke furniture encourages visitors to take in the store at a leisurely pace, relishing in the craftsmanship of one of Australia’s best-loved brands.

To celebrate the opening, R.M.Williams is giving customers the chance to win a pair of boots. Simply make a purchase in-store from 27 August to 4 September to enter the draw. T&Cs apply.

The new store will replace the brand’s previous Cairns Central location, which will close in tandem with the opening of the new space.

  1. hey Bill
that’s with everything these days most of the brand names are made in sweat shops overseas, we hardly make anything here in oz anymore we’ve been gutted out by traitors mate, however I still have a pair of RM boots that are 40 years old and well loved and comfortable, they weren’t cheap back then either , my son just bought a pair of RM boots recently around about $600 a pair he loves them as I do

  2. The boots may still be made in Australia, but not all the clothing is. I recently bought a pair of jeans. The ones on display were made in Pakistan. When I asked about Australian made jeans, the assistant produced a pair to try on. The fit wasn’t very good, and the price a lot higher. It is sad that an Australian icon has gone the way of most retailers, having their product made (cheaply?) overseas, but charging Australian prices for it. On top of that, the local product leaves a lot to be desired.
Hardly the way to attract, let alone retain, loyal customers.
