CAIRNS News has some friendly advice for the ten members of the AFL Commission – grow up and get a life!
As if fans and players hadn’t already had enough of the AFL Commission’s woke antics with LGBTQ-friendly and anti-racism virtue signalling. Now the AFL is investigating “offensive skits” and “distasteful behaviour” during the GWS Giants’ Wacky Wednesday celebrations.
Any head coach worth his salt could just have a not-so-friendly chat with the players if their antics went too far and leave it at that.
But who exactly do these alleged corporate kingpins on the AFL Commission think they are, that they can “punish” players for having fun that they don’t approve of? We’ve heard that Giants captain Toby Greene faces a $20,000 “fine” for “lack of leadership”.
Lack of leadership is the question we would like to put to AFL chairman Richard Goyder AO and his CEO lawyer boy Andrew Dillon. Perhaps these gentlemen should think seriously about jamming their virtue signalling up where the sun don’t shine?
Lawyer boy Dillon might also like to do a little research on the legality of such “fines”, because the real law, i.e. Section 8, sub-section 12 of the Imperial Acts Application Act says that “All promises of fines and forfeitures of particular persons before conviction are illegal and void”.
Quite simply, that means that, until you have been convicted of something by a court of competent jurisdiction, fines are illegal – and we seriously doubt that the AFL Commission is “a court of competent jurisdiction”.
An almost endless string of outraged comments on X should remind these buffoons that people are sick and tired of overbearing, corporate nanny state political correctness. Exactly what law was broken Andy? Was it the player dressing up as that Aussie Olympian embarrassment Raygun the rap dancer?
Reports are that up to 10 Giants players have been “offered punishments” as a result of “a complaint” made about the conduct of some players. Well we have a complaint too. We are sick of your DEI (Diversity Equity Inclusion) corporate baloney.
We’ve also heard that the league is giving the players involved “a chance to respond to the punishments handed down”. We would suggest strongly that the players just walk out on the club en masse. AFL fans should also flood the AFL with their own complaints about totalitarian sports administrators.
According to media reports, “the incident” took place at a post-season event with a dress-up theme of “celebrity couples”. The club found there was no illegal activity, but the AFL “has come down hard on the as-yet-undisclosed incidents”.
The Age reported that several players were expected to be banned over “highly inappropriate” skits held in a private room of a hotel, which was closed off to the public. Well boo hoo, we don’t know about it and we don’t care.
The reporting of media sporty guys like 7News Melbourne’s Mitch Cleary did little to challenge this corporate clown show.
“GWS captain Toby Greene went dressed as Olympic breakdancer RayGun. He wasn’t directly involved in the unsavoury skits – but is set to be given a heavy financial penalty for showing a lack of leadership. Players have until tomorrow to respond to negotiate their sanctions down.”
So how might the AFL commissars expect the players to “negotiate their sanctions down”? A Maoist-style “struggle session” and then an appearance on 7News making solemn confessions of their political crimes?
An X poster commented: “It’s time the AFLPA (Players’ Association) and the players stood up to these ridiculous fines imposed by the AFL. Dangerfield and Paul Marsh need to be defending the players and threatening industrial action.”
Someone else named “Tres Bian” quipped: “This is the greatest steaming pile of crap I’ve ever heard of. What’s next 24 hour camera surveillance in all AFL players houses? It’s an embarrassment to the AFL and certainly not the players. The only grub is the cretin who reported it.”

“Political correctness” in Oz and around the world is an unmistakeable hallmark of an encroaching, all consuming totalitarian culture.
It comes in three major and unpaatable flavours…. Fascist, Communist or Feudalist.
Stick to common sense and tell the “politicians”, corporate or otherwise, where to get off with their fantasies.
Speak your mind, don’t buy into BS. Play YOUR part in keepin Oz free.
I’m old enough to remember when, whether you played or were a spectator, Saturday at the footy was that uplifting refreshing feeling of being a free person, after having worked for the man Monday to Friday. It was your time, just you and the footy, a beer and a hot dog.
The reason why sport has become awash with money is so that it can be used to brainwash and manipulate the minds of the public and to not allow them to truly feel that freedom.

“DEI (Diversity Equity Inclusion) corporate baloney.”
“Deus, Dei” (Latin) refers to Almighty God. The neo-Marxists have predictably perverted the meaning to label their deranged ideology. Let’s help them to get it straight: DIE ideology is a literal and figurative biological, ethical, moral, economic and social dead end.
Think DIE ideology, a death cult of: Division, Inequality and Exclusion.
