Rehette Stolz, another mayor pushing LGBTQ ideology and climate change baloney on New Zealanders.

WHEN the woke mayor and council of the provincial New Zealand city of Gisborne decided to spend ratepayers money “gaying up” the town centre with a rainbow crossing, flags and invited a drag queen duo to the local library, local people decided to take matters into their own hands.

This week they painted over the rainbow crossing in the main street with white paint and protested at the local library to strongly object to paying for drag queen characters to flout themselves in front of children.

This typifies the problem with so-called “local government” in New Zealand, which spends endless amounts of ratepayer and central government money on social engineering programs, to the point now where most Kiwi councils are in serious debt and pushing annual rate rises of around 15% or higher.

Other protests and anger about the events across the country also forced regional councils at Rotorua and Hastings to cancel planned drag queen events. Library staff, not only across New Zealand and Australia, but worldwide, apparently all coincidentally believe that drag queens reading books is somehow “educational” for children.

The former South African and now woke Gisborne mayor, Rehette Stolz, has had no problem allocating ratepayers’ funds to make the mainly rural farming and forestry region all very LGBTIQ-friendly and “inclusive”, but said she would seek reparations for the cost of removing the white paint.

She then issued a PR statement claiming she and the councillors had nothing to do with the library reading. “Our staff are committed to selecting programmes that educate, inform, and entertain while respecting the broad spectrum of views held by our patrons,” she said.

“We recognise that not every programme will align with the personal values of every community member, but we strive to maintain a balanced and inclusive calendar of events that serve the varied interests of our community as a whole.” But there’s more to this story than just another drag queen confrontation at a local library.

For a start, the isolated city is No.2 on the national list of people on Jobseeker and has deep social problems. Concurrent with the visit of the LGBTQ library reading drag duo, was a double murder by stabbing at a 21st birthday party in the city.

Mayor Stolz and her council is essentially another front group pushing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) facilitated by International Socialist and former prime minister Jacinda Ardern and Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ), which which has been captured by the neo-Marxist Green Left.

LGNZ openly pushes the net zero/Agenda 2030 policy including the notorious “managed retreat and adaptation”, a social engineering campaign to push rural and coastal dwellers off the land into digitalised urban centres. Mayor Stolz calls it “my vision”.

An LGNZ submission on managed retreat states: “Mandatory powers of acquisition should be available in some circumstances…Affected land should be retired and should not be available for improvement or development once a decision to leave has been made… Any retreat framework needs to anticipate and provide for a range of options, such as incentivising ways for communities to be relocated to new areas together, or for relocations to be staggered…”.

Mayor Stolz’s main policy, not coincidentally, is to “focus and invest in regional climate leadership” and “finalise and implement actions to achieve net-zero 2030” and “accelerate Tairawhiti (the region) Climate Change Risk Assessment and allocate funding”.

And of course, if you’re into “climate action” making your region “inclusive” for LGBTIQA+ misfits to parade themselves in front of children, apparently makes total sense under the Agenda 20-30 social engineering operation and its Sustainable Development Goals.

“The rainbow crossing was painted on 20 December 2021,” the mayor posted on social media. “Since then it has been a solid message that we are an inclusive region. We accept that people hold different views however there is no place for hate or bigotry in Tairāwhiti.”

In other words, according to this woke mayor, there is no place in the Gisborne region, for people who strongly object to sexualisation of children and messaging implying that their city is okay for perverts posing as sexual revolutionaries to parade themselves around with impunity.

Most of the objectors appeared to be members of the controversial Destiny Church, run by Auckland-based church leader Brian Tamaki, who has been at the forefront of political pushback against the so-called “progressive” agenda for many years now.

The mayor lamely accused them of “creating a safety issue”. “We will be reinstating the rainbow crossing as quickly as we can. We absolutely object to individuals interfering with our road markings and the safety of people on our roads,” whined the mayor, conveniently forgetting that safe pedestrian crossings are almost universally yellow and white lines.

Stolz holds the naive ideological position that being openly LGBTIQ-friendly is all about “saving young lives”, that is, helping prevents suicides by confused young people who don’t know if they should identify as male or female. Apparently, parading freakish-costumed, gender-confused drag queens in front of kids helps them be clearer in their thinking about who they are.

“This kind of visibility of acceptance saves lives. We are very mindful of the struggle some of our young people face when there is no recognition for them as they explore their identities. Rainbows are representative of joy for everyone,” the Mayor posted. Quite a few local people beg to differ.

The oh-so inclusive mayor went on, warning that the transexual library performers would have police protection. “We have every intention of moving forward with the planned event at the HB Williams Library and have done a full risk assessment of the venue. Police will be present at the event and protesters have been warned they are not to prevent anyone entering the library.”

So when push comes to shove, “progressives” like Mayor Stolz are only too willing to literally push the LGBTIQ+ ideology on the local community whether they like it or not. Of course the mayor failed to refer to how transexual performers routinely mock anti-grooming laws that criminalise the presentation of sexually overt material to children.

Instead, Stolz comes up with PR schmooze such as: “I would like to clarify that the library’s programming decisions are made with the intent to provide a wide range of educational and cultural opportunities that reflect the diversity of our community. The event in question was designed to offer perspectives on gender diversity and inclusion, topics that are increasingly being recognised as important areas of public discourse.”

And this from a “local government leader” who wonders why children get confused over gender identity – an issue that a few decades ago barely entered the minds of children, especially those of kindergarten and early school years. But few, if any so-called “local government leaders” are independent original thinkers. They are all essentially agenda-driven UN socialist puppets.
