Fortunately KAP State Members Shane Knuth and Robbie Katter forced the state government last year to open three national park properties to grazing in the Mt Garnet district, the first time in over more than years. Now the government wants shut down this assistance by December 13. These properties, like numerous others in the state should never have been declared national parks. Most have little or no natural conservation values rather having more early settlement heritage vale. In some cases particularly on Cape York Peninsula the former state Labor government resumed these properties essentially to hand over to aboriginal groups under the guise of conservation.
