Today I received the following report from the Stanhope Gardens Leisure Centre Polling Place:
“I just went to vote at the Stanhope Gardens Leisure Centre and officials are telling people voting just 1 above the line (for the Senate) will not be counted; that they have changed the rules for this election. Scrutineers will not count it.”
This advice is at variance with the guidance on page 38 of the current Scrutineers Handbook available on line from the AEC website.
How is it possible for the AEC to change the rules after the voting has been in progress for a week and a half?
I believe the majors are attempting to steal the senate by gaining quotas by forcing preferences from the electors and secondly that some in the AEC might be facilitating the theft after the writ had already been issued.
This is not legal. At the least it is vote fraud and at worst it is criminal.
Vote only 1 above the line in the Senate as per page 38 of the Scrutineers Handbook 2022.

 while this story is correct, the word ‘corrupt’ in the heading is
inappropriate to the story.
 The AEC’s mistake is a minor issue, committed by an ignorant or poorly
trained official at one polling booth.
 The word “corrupt” can be very much proved by me, based on more
information in my possession than my attached shocking Submission of 20
Sept 2019 to the Parliamentary Committee and to the AEC.

Betty Mac… totally agree vote BELOW the line… some good freedom parties are there.. including Lindsay Temple, Independent, who is for A1 party. Do not number any major party boxes below the line please.
And read what is on the form itself.. it will tell you what to do.. if in doubt, go on the AEC site and do a dummy run – it will then tell you if what you did was valid or not.
We can’t afford to get it wrong… do some homework if you have not voted yet.
I am totally confused! This leading comment is confusing!
Voting for only one above the line was for the 2019 election, it has been changed.
I am sure many others will be confused.Play it safe if voting Above the line, and place 6.
My advice is ignore all that and vote for 12 good people in minor parties BELOW the line.
This election is fast developing into the farce of all times
If the scrutineers’ handbook says to ONLY VOTE 1 above the line ,it is at odds with the government’s Official Guide to the 2022 Election which says, in bold letters.
‘You need to NUMBER AT LEAST 6 BOXES.’
There needs to be an investigation into the corrupt AEC.
Well there is a how to vote section on the AEC and anyone can do a practice run on either paper… It says that you must number ALL boxes (or at least 6) above the line, placing a 1 in your first choice… and it says that on the actual Senate paper as well. It does not say mark only one box. I wanted to make sure I got it right, and even did the dummy run on there to be sure. Aren’t people reading the instructions on the ballot papers?
Personally I voted the 12 below the line on the White Paper because I wanted to vote for the freedom parties. I made my own list and took it there with me.
I am bewildered by government bureaucrats continually changing the rules for their own political future and advantage.Its corrupt I am so sick of
them and their dishonesty we can’t even have a a fare and honest election with out them changing the election law when voting has already begun.
We can’t rely on the judicial system to judicature over this matter.
Corruption at the highest level is the new norm.
