Kadyrov the Chechen leader announced an attempt to poison the commander of the Akhmat special forces, when deputy commander of the 2nd Army Corps ‘Apti Alaudinov’ received an envelope soaked in a poisonous substance. @David. There is such a reality as the dominant demographic (majority) and its institutions. In the Commonwealth of Poland Lithuania of course there were other ethnicities. But the question is: what group or allied groups form the state or are recognized as the instrument of self rule by the larger polity – this case the Polish Crown and its Commonwealth.

THE Ukraine has always been a geographic region with a hotch potch of ethnic groups. There’s no question about that.
Except that regional “identity” does not define national or ethnic or political identity. THE Ukraine was never the home of a “Ukrainian” nation, ethnic group or political entity until the communists created the Ukrainian Republic to serve their interests in 1917/18.
I’ve already listed the MANY ethnic and national groups living in the Ukraine region previously and it even includes the Cossacks, Turks and a number of Norse groups generally identified as “Vikings”.
Whether they were all dominated by the Russians, Habsburgs, Poles, Lithuanians or the Communist Soviets at various points in time is immaterial. Communist boundaries invented by communist decree does NOT a nation make.

Usually people read that history with maps, the history of people who are a nation (in the NT sense of ethne) and histories of the people with whom they have religious, cultural, political, economic and hostile relationships. Many of the ethnically European people of Rus , of which Ukraine, is one national branch, lived in the Great Commonwealth of Poland Lithuania even from before the 16th century. There is a record of constant wars over these lands in Central Europe between Muscovy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire at its furthest extent. As a nation within Poland Lithuania.

One simply has to analyse a region’s currency record. Old coins are always being dug up, and this offers excellent insights into a region’s history.
As for the Ukrainian region, no Ukrainian coins prior to 1918 have ever surfaced: only Russian coins, – and foreign coins [the region’s oldest currency was always fur skins].
The first Ukrainian currency [and postage stamps] to appear was in 1918, which coincided with an initial, albeit extremely brief emergence of Ukraine as a self governing nation.

The Polish army is not reservists and teenagers although teenagers are subject to call up for compulsory military exercises (including army reserve) beginning at age 18. Refugees from the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine have streamed into Poland and all the Visegrad nations. I don’t think any gov’t stats will tell us the numbers but the the Christian and humanitarian organisations working in those nations: give much better on the ground coverage and their own numbers.
Along with Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania, Poland is another independent nation that is traditionally and culturally Christian that has been on the front line of the EUSSR sponsored Muslim tidal wave into Europe, now it is on the front line against the Russian advance into Central Europe.
