Letter to the Editor
In 1992, as a bright and shiny new investigator, I was allocated a file about multiple voting in a single Federal electorate in South West Sydney – 1 of of 150 electorates nationwide. This involved the same person allegedly voting at a number of booths in the same electorate on the same day. I interviewed a large number of people who had their names crossed off at a number of booths. What I found was that everyone denied multiple voting. The criteria for voting, as now, was stating their name, address and date of birth. Not difficult information to acquire. Some of them I assessed as genuine. Most blamed their cousins etc which was able to be legally proved. All of the elector details could be readily accessed via the electoral roll. Nothing was done. In a digital age, multiply that tenfold. The electoral system here is utterly corrupted, not least by the fact that investigations are not allocated until after the results are decided.

We complained and forwarded a complaint to the QEC and the government NO reply ?
Typical
Maybe all the Good Guys should go and vote at a million different booths and get our Good Guys in?
Would that sort of Good Guy fraud get investigated?Probably definitely-but that would then expose the fact that electoral FRAUD does happen.
What’s the problem with showing some form of ID when voting? If it’s good enough to present some ID to get into a pub or to open a mobile phone account it’s good enough to present some ID when voting.
How do you stop a person from voting several times and/or voting in someone else’s name AND several times as well?
You don’t need to be Einstein to know that the system is wide open to manipulation and every Tom, Dick and Harry knows it.
It’s astounding that so many people seem to like it that way and aren’t the least bit bothered.
And that is only one of the strategies to ensure the major parties beat the people’s choices.
Revoke election mandate, simple as that.
Hi Romitas, Great letter. Precisely. Like ‘shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted’ and then burning down the stable to refute that there ever was a horse in the first place.
This is not surprising as we don’t live in a democracy and haven’t for many years. It is a rigged system in favour of two party’s; Liberal and Labour.
Vote wisely, do not preference either party, vote them out.
This system could easily be set up like a debit card. When you buy something they know immediately if you have money or not,It would be easy to see if you had voted before.
Amazing what they can do with computers..Look how they took Russia”s money. one swipe and it is gone.,And the whole world knew about it immediately.
Incredible. And do not forget they intend to take you’re money and give you credit.
Yes ,So, neither of them are going to change course really. Put Morrison and Albanese and the greens at the bottom. And look out for all the new people who are for the climate action.
Why don’t you make a few enquires abour HAARP and CERN.
Our votes have never been more important.
That be Bloody Right… First, you HAVE to commit the Crime and then we will prosecute… Wonderful System we have…
Of course not the criminal bastsrds!

Why does that not surprise me? If you can’t cheat one way, find another way to do it…..
Maybe everyone should be sent a voting chit in the mail that is surrendered when going to vote?
Not totally bulletproof, but not a bad thought.
